Chapter 120 Su Yue is almost like a statue waiting for her husband (2/2)

Fu Shen glared at him. "What kind of analogy is that? Your sister-in-law and I will never quarrel."

Wang Renyi quickly explained, "I know you wouldn't, I'm just saying hypothetically, I want to hear how you would handle this? I really don't know what to do right now."

Fu Shen reached out and took his cup, his tone commanding and unquestionable: "Why are you thinking so much? Go pack your things, I'm going to the hospital with you."

Even when you're sick, you still overthink things; aren't you afraid of causing problems with your brain?

Wang Renyi asked blankly, "Why go to the hospital?"

Fu Shen pointed to his injury and said irritably, "How am I supposed to find Qin Zhizhi if I don't go to the hospital to get it re-bandaged?"

"Just go see a military doctor."

Wang Renyi seemed to only then notice the luggage on the stool, and asked in confusion, "Brother Shen, where are you taking your luggage?"

Fu Shen: "Go to Beicheng. Get up quickly. He's delirious with fever and refuses to go to the hospital. Do you think Qin Zhizhi will like a fool?"

Wang Renyi paused for a moment, then said in a low voice, "You really don't need to go to the hospital."

He felt dizzy and weak all over, and didn't want to go anywhere. He just wanted to lie down and sleep.

Fu Shen's face darkened. "If you're not going to the hospital, don't come looking for me again. You don't even care about the injuries you sustained."

In this sweltering heat, a gunshot wound is no laughing matter.

Upon hearing Fu Shen's words, Wang Renyi hurriedly stood up from the edge of the bed and said, "I'll go."

When they arrived at the county hospital, Wang Renyi was already delirious with fever and unconscious.

The doctor quickly called a nurse to change the dressing on the wound, and then told Fu Shen with a serious expression that he needed to observe for a few days. If the fever did not subside, the problem would be serious.

Left with no other choice, Fu Shen had to stay at the hospital to take care of Wang Renyi, and his original plan to go to Beicheng had to be temporarily put on hold.

Three days later, Wang Renyi's condition finally improved.

Wang Renyi knew he had delayed Fu Shen from going to find Su Yue, and felt a little embarrassed. "Brother Shen, you should go find your sister-in-law. I can manage on my own."

Fu Shen then boarded the train to the north of the city, and got off the train just before arriving in the south.

In the northern part of the city, Su Yue waited expectantly for almost half a month, but Fu Shen never showed up.

Wang Jingyi watched as Su Yue grew more and more depressed each day, sitting silently in the yard without saying a word, and no longer going out for walks with Grandma Yang. She would just stare intently at the gate after each meal.

Today it started again. Wang Jingyi looked at Su Yue with heartache, quietly went into the room, and dialed Yang Guohua's number.

After the call connected, she lowered her voice and asked, "Is Fu Shen still in the army?"

Yang Guohua replied, "No, he asked me for leave the day he came back. He planned to take the train the next day, but Wang Renyi got sick and he stayed at the hospital for three days before leaving. So, he hasn't arrived in Beicheng yet?"

Wang Jingyi: No.

Yang Guohua asked in confusion, "That's strange. Where did he go? He's been away from the army for more than 20 days. Don't tell Yueyue directly. She's pregnant and about to give birth. She can't handle the shock. Just say that something might have happened on the way and she was delayed. Soldiers are helpful. The journey is long, so it's normal to be delayed."

Wang Jingyi: "Okay, I understand."

After hanging up the phone, Wang Jingyi sighed heavily, feeling troubled. How should she tell Su Yue?

She stared at the door every day, like a statue waiting for her husband.

If she knew that Fu Shen had left the army long ago and might have forgotten that his wife was waiting for him while he was helping others, she would be even more upset.

"Ouch!" Upon hearing Grandma Yang's sudden cry, Wang Jingyi hurriedly ran out to check.

Fu Shen stood outside the gate, carrying a bag and looking travel-worn.

The moment Su Yue saw him, she immediately stood up with a smile, but the next second, she remembered that she had waited for so long, and a little temper welled up in her heart. She snorted and turned her head away from him.

Fu Shen saw that Su Yue was smiling when she first saw him, but suddenly pouted and turned her face away.

His heart tightened, and he quickly walked in, nodding politely to Wang Jingyi and Grandma Yang.
