Chapter 173 Good Stuff (1/2)

Su Yue sighed inwardly. Even if she told Wang Renyi the address, he still wouldn't be able to find it.

Although she and Fu Shen knew the reason, they couldn't tell him.

Seeing that Wang Renyi, who used to be sunny and cheerful, has now become cautious in his speech.

I wonder if Qin Zhizhi regrets agreeing to date Wang Renyi now that she sees him like this.

If the two of them hadn't been dating, would Wang Renyi be in a different situation now?

Unfortunately, there are no "what ifs," and Qin Zhizhi never imagined she could get back so quickly.

Wang Xiaohua stared wide-eyed in shock: "So that's how it is!"

Su Yue nodded and instructed, "It's good that we know about this, but please don't tell anyone else."

Wang Xiaohua quickly shook her head: "I won't tell."

Fu Shen came out with the water and overheard their conversation, which made him chuckle to himself.

The military leaders were unaware that Qin Zhizhi had returned to her biological parents' home, but they knew that Wang Renyi had a girlfriend, since he had submitted a relationship report.

Another month and a half passed, spring plowing was over, and Wu Guoliang came to the army to pick up Wang Xiaohua and take her back.

He didn't stay long after arriving; he returned the next day because he had bought his return ticket in advance.

Su Yue and Fu Shen tried to persuade him to cancel the tickets and stay a few more days, but he firmly refused.

Wu Guoliang kept this in mind because he was afraid that Su Yue and Fu Shen would persuade him and Wang Xiaohua to stay a few more days.

Fu Shen looked at Wu Guoliang and said, "Second brother, are you being too polite with me? You came to my house, but you didn't even want to stay a few more days before you were in a hurry to go back."

Wu Guoliang smiled and patted Fu Shen on the shoulder: "It's not that I'm being polite. There are really things to take care of at home. Otherwise, your second sister-in-law and I would stay until the rice is ripe before we go back."

After spring plowing, there are still many things to be done in the village.

Wu Guoliang spent several days working in the village office with his father, Wu Zhongjian, and then went to the town to handle some documents before buying a train ticket to Bincheng.

They promised to pick up Wang Xiaohua after the spring planting season, but they've been delayed for more than ten days.

Wu Zhongjian is getting old and is really planning to retire this time. The village can't find a suitable person to take his place in the short term.

Wu Zhongjian simply let Wu Guoliang take over. At first, he thought that since his second son had no children, he always had a stern face except when facing Wang Xiaohua, as if everyone owed him something. As long as he could intimidate people in the village, that would be enough. He could teach him things like writing later.

Now that he knows his second daughter-in-law is pregnant, he thought his son would give up, but to his surprise, he's even more enthusiastic about studying than before.

Fu Shen raised an eyebrow slightly, "I'm never not busy at home. It's not easy for you to come all this way, so what's wrong with staying a few more days?"

He's been to the village before; every day, as soon as he opened his eyes at the crack of dawn, there were countless farm chores waiting to be done.

Su Yue had carefully prepared a gift for Wang Xiaohua. Wang Xiaohua stared curiously at the exquisite jewelry box and couldn't help but ask softly, "Yueyue, what's inside?"

Su Yue smiled gently yet mysteriously: "Good stuff."

It was indeed a good item: a longevity lock, a pair of silver bracelets, and the food money she had given herself before, all neatly placed inside.

The longevity lock was secretly made by Su Yue, who asked Wang Jingyi to go to Dongkou Village and ask a skilled old man there to help her make it.

Wang Xiaohua had finally gotten this child, and Su Yue thought of giving the child a longevity lock with auspicious meaning to bless him with a peaceful and smooth life.

Upon hearing that it was something good, Wang Xiaohua's eyes instantly filled with anticipation, and she subconsciously wanted to see what treasure was inside.

She moved extremely fast; before Su Yue could even reach out to stop her, the jewelry box had already been opened.

Upon seeing what was inside, Wang Xiaohua's expression changed instantly, filled with shock. She then hurriedly handed the box back to Su Yue, her voice trembling with panic: "Yueyue, we can't accept this. Please take it back quickly."

Nearby, Fu Shen and Wu Guoliang were talking when they heard Wang Xiaohua's surprised words, and they both looked at her at the same time.
