She frowned and said, "Why are these women so insistent on giving us things? We just arrived and don't know them. Are you trying to get your help as soon as we get here?"
Fu Shen: "From now on, I will be their superior."
Upon hearing Fu Shen's words, Su Yue suddenly realized and said, "They want their men to become familiar with you so they can ask for help later, but..."
Fu Shen asked, "But what?"
Su Yue teased with a half-smile, "But once you got promoted, your treatment was different. People are even coming to your door to fawn over you, even if it's just some simple vegetables."
Fu Shen smiled helplessly and said, "This is an unavoidable phenomenon; you'll get used to it."
Su Yue couldn't help but yawn, and said sleepily, "I'm not going to talk anymore, I'm going to go inside and take a nap. If you want to take a shower, there's still hot water in the pot."
Fu Shen responded softly, "I understand."
As Su Yue walked to the door, a thought suddenly flashed through her mind, as if she had something important to say, but she just couldn't remember what it was.
She frowned, patted her forehead, and still had no clue.
Forget it, I don't want to think about it anymore.
When Su Yue woke up from her nap, she found herself all alone at home.
Fu Shen and Ping An were nowhere to be found, so she went to the kitchen to add oil, salt, rice, and vinegar, and carefully checked to make sure nothing was missing.
She clapped her hands lightly in satisfaction, thinking that having space was so convenient; she could just get whatever she wanted directly from there.
When Fu Shen brought Ping An back, he saw Su Yue leisurely lying on a recliner, taking small bites of an apple, looking quite content.
Ping An ran in happily, her eyes sparkling, and said, "Mommy, I want to eat an apple too."
Su Yue sat up slightly, a gentle smile on her face, and asked, "You're back. Where did you go?"
As she spoke, she flipped her hand and produced an uneaten apple, which she handed to Ping An.
Ping An happily took it and said, "Dad took me to see the school."
After saying that, she skipped and hopped out to wash the apples.
Fu Shen frowned slightly when he saw Su Yue conjure an apple right in front of Ping An.
Su Yue assumed he was looking at her because he wanted an apple, so she asked, "Do you want one too?"
She remembered that Fu Shen didn't really like apples; he preferred pears.
Fu Shen shook his head.
Su Yue looked puzzled. "Is Ping An School bad?"
Ping An came in after washing the apples. Hearing her mother's words, she quickly said, "Mom, Dad said the schools here are more comprehensive and better than those in Bincheng."
He felt the same way. The school had a library, and according to the teacher, it had all kinds of books.
He originally wanted to go in and take a look, but his father said that he would have plenty of time to study here in the future.
Now Dad is teaching me how to take the bus home, since the school is five stops away from the military base.
He'll be starting school in a couple of days, and his dad has to go to work too. School starts early, and his mom sometimes sleeps in, so it's impossible for her to get up early every day to take him.
Besides, he's already seven years old; it's time for him to learn to be independent.
Fu Shen reached out and patted Ping An's head, saying, "I need to talk to your mother about something. Go play in the yard for a while."
Ping An went out while munching on an apple. Su Yue looked up and asked curiously, "Is there something you want to tell me? Why did you specifically send Ping An away?"
