Chapter 43 Using a nightmare to reveal the events of a past life (1/2)

Fu Shen frowned slightly and gently wiped the sweat from Su Yue's forehead. "...My head is fine, what could be wrong? Quickly wipe your sweat, or you'll catch a cold. The doctor said you can't take medicine when you have a cold."

Unexpectedly, before Fu Shen could finish speaking, Su Yue's eyes reddened, and she suddenly grabbed his head and hugged him tightly.

Caught off guard, Fu Shen was suddenly embraced by Su Yue, his breath caught in his throat, and he felt suffocated.

He shifted instinctively, and Su Yue's voice trembled slightly as she said, "Don't move."

Upon hearing this, Fu Shen, who was still holding a towel, paused and waited quietly for Su Yue to recover.

He thought to himself that she must have had a terrible dream, otherwise she wouldn't be acting like she'd lost her mind.

When Fu Shen felt water dripping from his buzz cut, he realized it was Su Yue's tears.

He frowned and, ignoring Su Yue's attempts to stop him, forcefully broke free from her hands that were tightly holding his head.

He was strong, and Su Yue was strong too.

She struggled for a while before finally getting out of Su Yue's arms.

When he saw Su Yue's face covered in tears, his heart clenched.

Without hesitation, he threw the towel aside and reached out to wipe Su Yue's tears, but the more he wiped, the more tears she shed.

"Why are you crying? Did you have a scary dream? Don't be afraid, it's all just a dream."

As Fu Shen wiped away Su Yue's tears, she gradually regained her senses.

Seeing Fu Shen's panicked expression, she helped him wipe away his tears.

Su Yue forced a smile, reached for the towel that Fu Shen had tossed aside, and wiped her face.

Then, Su Yue hugged Fu Shen tightly around the waist, buried her head in his neck, and her voice was filled with lingering fear.

“I had a nightmare. I dreamt that you were beaten to death by the Red Guards with hoes... that day, at Jianghuai East’s house.”

She had gradually forgotten the scene of Fu Shen being beaten in her previous life.

I mentioned it to the baby in my belly before going to bed.

Unexpectedly, it appeared again in my dream.

Fu Shen paused slightly, then gently patted Su Yue's back. "That was a dream. How could I be beaten to death by the Red Guards? Jiang Huaidong was beaten but didn't die. You saved me, so I certainly won't die."

Su Yue knew she couldn't reveal the whole truth at once, but she still wanted to use the dream to slowly tell the story.

On the day they first met, she couldn't immediately accept the pain of her past life.

She only told Fu Shen that after they had an intimate relationship, nothing more happened.

Now that she and Fu Shen have a child together, her mindset has changed a lot.

“I know, but it felt like it really happened in the dream. I remember telling you that after we had an intimate relationship, nothing happened afterward. But this dream I’m having now is complete.”

"In my dream, I couldn't save you. We drank egg drop soup together, and you quickly fainted. My egg drop soup wasn't drugged, so you didn't faint. Jiang Huaidong saw that you didn't react at all, so he locked the two of us in the room. After that, everything that was supposed to happen happened. Not long after, the Red Guards broke down the door, dragged you out, and beat you with hoes and wooden sticks. You were screaming in pain. I went out and just then saw the Red Guards raising hoes..."

As Su Yue spoke, her body began to tremble uncontrollably.

Fu Shen looked down at Su Yue with heartache and quickly interrupted, saying, "You don't need to say anything more, I understand."

Su Yue took a deep breath and shook her head. "No, I want to say that after you were beaten to death, the Red Guards left, and Jiang Huaidong and his mother came with the villagers. They all believed Jiang Huaidong's words, saying that you always said unpleasant things in the army and that I seduced you. Two days later, the army came to deal with your matter. In fact, they just carried you up the mountain and buried you. Jiang Huaidong was fine and left his hometown."
