Chapter 66 Second Sister-in-law Drinks Water to Soothe Her Throat (1/2)

As soon as Su Yue returned, Fu Shen immediately stepped forward, his tone filled with concern: "Why did you take so long?"

Su Yue laughed and said, "Qin Zhizhi refused to accept the pork. We had to talk to her for a while before she agreed."

Upon hearing this, Fu Shen's lips unconsciously curled up. "That person would send pork, so it's normal that they wouldn't accept it."

Su Yue muttered softly, "I have plenty of pork, and she said she likes fatty pork, so giving her a piece wouldn't be a problem. She even lent us her bicycle."

Thinking to myself, if it were about buying pork with money, I probably wouldn't be that generous.

But there are no ifs, she just has a lot of pork.

Wang Xiaohua took out some shiitake mushrooms from the cupboard, planning to make shiitake mushroom chicken tonight.

As soon as she saw Su Yue return, she hurriedly pulled Su Yue's hand and led her into the house, her face full of anxiety and confusion: "Yueyue, why did you and Fu Shen buy so much flour and noodles? It must have cost a lot of money, right? There's also pork, eggs, chicken, bananas, and apples."

Su Yue patted Wang Xiaohua's hand gently, saying, "Of course we bought it for food. Second sister-in-law, don't worry about the money. We've come all this way, and we're leaving tomorrow. We don't know when we'll be back again."

Wang Xiaohua's eyes were full of heartache: "You bought way too much."

The amount of flour and noodles was enough for her and Wu Guoliang to eat for more than a month.

In the evening, after dinner was prepared, Wu Guoliang went to call Wu Zhongjian to come over for dinner.

At first he was unwilling, but when he heard that Fu Shen was leaving the next day, he went out in the afternoon to buy meat and then came along.

After the meal, Wang Xiaohua set aside half of the fruit for Wu Zhongjian to take home and eat.

Wu Zhongjian didn't take it; he just reached out, broke off a banana, ate it, and then left.

Wang Xiaohua nudged Wu Guoliang, her tone tinged with helplessness: "Dad is still the same as always."

Whenever they have something at home and ask him to take it back, he never does.

Wu Guoliang understood his father's thoughts, of course; he didn't take it out of consideration for his father's feelings.

Otherwise, the moment Zhang Hongying takes something back from him, she'll call her son over to ask for it.

As a grandfather, it wouldn't be right not to give it to him.

So each time, his father simply wouldn't take it back.

They should have been brothers, but they had fallen out and stopped communicating. They even dragged his father into this mess. Wu Guoliang felt guilty and thought he was truly unfilial.

The next morning, Su Yue got up, poured herself a glass of water, and quickly walked over to Wang Xiaohua, who was tending the fire, with a smile on her face: "Second sister-in-law, have some water to soothe your throat."

Wang Xiaohua looked up, put down the fire tongs in her hand, and said, "I've already drunk, you can drink."

She always drinks a glass of water after washing up in the morning.

Su Yue shook the glass in her hand. "What you're drinking is different from what I poured."

Wang Xiaohua was a little confused: "What's the difference? Aren't they all poured from the kettle?"

Su Yue handed the cup to Wang Xiaohua, "Try it and you'll see how it's different."

Wang Xiaohua licked her lips, which were a little dry from the fire, took the cup, and drank it all in one gulp.

Su Yue stared intently at her, eagerly asking, "Isn't it different?"

Wang Xiaohua squinted her eyes, savoring the taste for a moment, "It's a little sweet, you added sugar."

Su Yue was taken aback, then burst into laughter: "Yes, I added some sugar. I hope that my second sister-in-law's life will be sweet, not bitter."

Wang Xiaohua smiled and playfully scolded, "You naughty one."

Su Yue returned to her room with a smile, and Fu Shen quickly asked, "Did you give it to your second sister-in-law?"

Su Yue nodded: "I drank it."

Fu Shen's eyes held a hint of worry: "Did she ask anything?"

Su Yue naturally understood Fu Shen's concerns and comforted him, "Don't worry, Second Sister-in-law thought I put sugar in it."

Fu Shen was relieved. If it were anyone else, he would never have let Su Yue take this risk.
