Chapter 778 She's Mine

Ning Yuan adjusted her clothes on her shoulders; Chu Hongyu's hands were still warm, gently soothing her cold skin.

The chill in her heart did not dissipate in the slightest; instead, it entwined her even more tightly, like vines.

She turned around, met Chu Hongyu's worried gaze, and smiled gently: "Sister Hongyu, don't worry, I'm fine, let's go home."

...

After the opening ceremony, Chu Hongyu and Tony took Ning Yuan back to their villa in Repulse Bay.

Butler Fu came forward and respectfully said to Chu Hongyu, "Miss Chu, the young master requests your presence."

Chu Hongyu nodded and replied, "Okay."

The butler added, "However, the young master is not in his room right now; he went to his apartment in Central."

Tony glanced at his watch and offered, "It'll be a bit late if we go now. I'll take you there; I also need to go to Young Master's place."

Chu Hongyu smiled helplessly: "Thank you for your help."

The two then drove straight to Central.

As Tony drove, he noticed Chu Hongyu leaning back in the car seat, looking exhausted, and kindly reminded her, "Why don't you close your eyes and rest for a bit? Working for the young master isn't easy."

The young master is indeed generous, but correspondingly, those who work for him must give it their all.

Chu Hongyu rubbed her temples, her tone slightly teasing—

“Tony, I’ve always been curious, why are you so devoted to Ning Bingyu…Young Master? Is Ning’s salary very high? There aren’t many people like you these days.”

Tony was truly loyal to Young Master Ning, to the point of being willing to give his all until his dying breath.

Tony, his hands on the steering wheel, stared straight ahead, his tone calm and utterly unwavering: "Because the young master deserves it."

"Oh? I'd like to hear the details." Chu Hongyu raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

Tony paused for a moment, seemingly organizing his thoughts, before slowly speaking—

“My mother is Thai, so I’m half Thai. I used to fight in underground boxing in Thailand, and later I went to Japan and made a name for myself there.”

"What is underground boxing?" Chu Hongyu frowned slightly; the term was somewhat unfamiliar to her.

Tony said calmly, "They're just a bunch of desperados, playing with their lives on a ring without any rules, the kind who'll kill without hesitation."

He paused, chuckled softly, but there was no hint of amusement in his voice: "The audience there are all bloodthirsty lunatics. They pay money just to see blood and how people die."

Having grown up in the mainland, Chu Hongyu had never heard of such cruel "bad habits" from the old society, and couldn't help but frown: "And then..."

Tony chuckled, as if telling someone else's story: "Then, back then I was young and hot-blooded, and I didn't know how to back down. The boss wanted me to throw a fight, but I refused for the sake of the championship belt. As a result, he drugged me, and I couldn't exert any strength in the ring. I was almost beaten to death."

Chu Hongyu held her breath, waiting for him to continue.

Tony's tone carried a hint of barely perceptible gratitude: "It was the young master who stopped the boss. He had hired my master to teach him boxing and was on a business trip in Japan. When he saw that I was about to be beaten to death, my master begged him to buy me, and he agreed."

"Buy...buy it? You can buy people these days?" Chu Hongyu's eyes widened, as if she had heard something unbelievable.

In mainland China, many landlords who hired long-term laborers were executed!

Tony explained, "Well, actually, it was my master who begged him to save me. The young master gave the boss a large sum of money and took me away. If it weren't for the young master, my master might never have seen me again."

His voice softened: "Later, the young master even sent me to study abroad. If it weren't for him, I'd probably still be boxing in some underground boxing ring, and I might be dead by now."

Chu Hongyu was speechless for a moment. She hadn't expected that Tony and Ning Bingyu had such a past.

The street scene outside the window rushed past, neon lights flashing, reflected on Tony's resolute face, a face etched with loyalty and determination.

"For the past ten years or so, I've followed him; my life belongs to him."

Chu Hongyu felt a surge of emotion. She hadn't expected that such a story of chivalry and loyalty could exist in the decadent Hong Kong government.

She smiled and remarked, "A scholar will die for one who understands him; no wonder you're willing to work 007."

Tony looked bewildered: "What's 007?"

"It means working from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., 7 days a week. That's what Ning Yuan told me," Chu Hongyu explained.

"Oh," Tony responded casually, seemingly unconcerned. "But I don't feel tired working for the young master."

Chu Hongyu shook her head and said with a smile, "I'm a bit of a snob. I'm only here for the salary. If Young Master Ning stops paying me one day, I'll leave immediately."

Tony glanced at her, said nothing, but a barely perceptible smile appeared on his lips.

The car stopped in front of a luxury apartment building in Central. Tony parked the car, and the two got out.

This apartment building in Central is one of the properties developed by Ning Bingyu.

His private residence occupies the entire top floor of a luxurious penthouse.

Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the night view of Victoria Harbour is dazzling.

Ning Bingyu stood on the balcony, a cigarette between his fingers, enjoying the breeze and relaxing as he looked at the night view.

He glanced down slightly, as if sensing something, and saw Tony's modified, particularly eye-catching Lamborghini parked steadily downstairs.

Chu Hongyu and Tony got out of the car, and the two seemed to be talking about something very familiar to each other.

His sword-like eyebrows furrowed unconsciously.

A moment later, the elevator dinged and took Chu Hongyu and Tony to the top floor.

Chu Hongyu looked around. The apartment and the Ning Group president's office were decorated in a simple and elegant style, exuding a cold and ascetic feeling, just like Ning Bingyu.

Simon, Ning Bingyu's assistant, looked up and saw Chu Hongyu arrive. He greeted her warmly, "Sophia, you've arrived! Young Master has been waiting for you."

After all, no one is immune to the allure of beauty, especially a stunning beauty like Chu Hongyu, who is a feast for the eyes.

Ning Bingyu glanced at Simon without changing his expression and said calmly, "Simon, show Miss Chu to the people who will be following her from now on."

Simon immediately realized what was happening and quickly led Chu Hongyu to another study.

In the study stood two bodyguards, a man and a woman, both burly and with sharp eyes.

Chu Hongyu greeted them politely, but felt somewhat helpless. She was really not used to having people around her, feeling like she was being watched.

The female bodyguard noticed her discomfort and explained, "Miss Chu, this is a necessary arrangement. We will try our best not to appear in front of you unless necessary."

Chu Hongyu smiled and said gently, "Thank you for your hard work. It was a pleasure working with you all."

She had no interest in making things difficult for working people—well, Ning Yuan said that anyone who works for someone else is called a "working person," which is also a "short for" the working class.

On the other side, Ning Bingyu poured Tony a glass of whiskey, his tone meaningful: "Your tastes change pretty quickly, huh? You don't like Huang Shuyi's type anymore?"

Tony was stunned for a moment, not understanding what his young master meant.

Ning Bingyu flicked his cigarette ash, his eyes deep: "Chu Hongyu is very beautiful, isn't she?"

Tony nodded subconsciously; it was indeed an undeniable fact, but a bad feeling rose in his heart.

“But now, nominally, she’s mine.” Ning Bingyu said calmly.
