Chapter 870 I'm Being a Jerk

She shook his head angrily: "Ning Bingyu! You greedy bastard! You went all in! Leaving no room for maneuver! What if you lose money?! Do you even have a brain?! Weren't you so sure you could get the board's support before?!"

It's because she remembers how successful this project was in her past life that she trusts him so much that she didn't make any preparations at all!

Damn it, we're from the same womb, and this bastard is taking more than his share. He deserves to die!

Besides seeking funding from outsiders, he also squandered all of his mother's money!

Damn it, they didn't even leave her a single bit!

Ning Bingyu wasn't annoyed and let her shake him.

He merely raised his eyelids slightly, indifferently raising an eyebrow: "What, didn't you also immediately acquire such a large plot of land in the mainland, and lease it for ten years? Why don't you take it slow! Leave some room for maneuver?"

"Isn't it because business opportunities are so important and time waits for no one? You've been working for the Hong Kong government for over two years now, go find business partners or banks outside and figure it out yourself, it's only six million!"

Ning Yuan was speechless, both angry and helpless: "You shameless bastard, remember this!"

In the end, he could only let go resentfully and storm out.

Ning Bingyu said behind her, "Close the door when you go out. I'll have Chu Hongyu bring you the check later."

"Bang!"

Ning Yuan slammed the door shut and cursed through gritted teeth in the hallway, "You damn bitch!"

As Ning Yuan left Ning Bingyu's office, she became increasingly furious. Two million, seven percent!

This isn't a real brother, he's a vampire! So infuriating! So infuriating!

Damn it, this scoundrel is definitely impotent!

She stormed into the parking lot, plotting how to get some money from somewhere else.

As she was walking, a black sedan suddenly stopped in front of her.

The two bodyguards next to Ning Yuan instantly drew their guns and shielded Ning Yuan behind them.

The car window slowly rolled down, revealing a face that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

"Seventh Miss, Fourth Uncle requests your presence." The man looked up at her with a cold expression.

The man in the driver's seat had his once handsome and refined face marred by a hideous scar, which instead added a touch of ruthlessness.

Ning Yuan raised an eyebrow slightly. It was actually Qin Changsheng?

She pushed aside the two bodyguards who had instantly drawn their guns in front of her, as if facing a formidable enemy, and gestured to the other bodyguards in the car not far away, signaling them to remain calm.

Then, under the tense gaze of everyone, Ning Yuan bent down and got into Qin Changsheng's car.

"Click." The car door closed and the car drove forward.

The other bodyguards quickly got into their own cars and followed closely behind Qin Changsheng's vehicle.

Inside the car, the atmosphere was subtly tense.

Ning Yuan spoke calmly: "What brings Master Qin here? Does Fourth Uncle have some important instructions that require you to come and pick me up?"

Qin Changsheng drove without looking to the side: "It's a matter of 14K. I just need to report to my fourth uncle. He called your company and home but couldn't reach you. The housekeeper told me you came to Central to see Young Master Ning, so he asked me to pick you up on the way."

He paused, a hint of barely perceptible sarcasm in his tone: "After all, it's not good for Miss Seven to be constantly watched by the police; someone has to come to her rescue, right?"

Upon hearing this, Ning Yuan revealed a playful smile: "Oh? Those cops haven't left yet? Since they haven't left, for a 14K gang leader like you to come pick me up isn't helping me out, but rather blatantly giving them leverage to frame me, isn't it?"

Qin Changsheng scoffed: "You care? The youngest and most handsome senior superintendent in the Hong Kong government is watching you. Shouldn't you be happy?"

Ning Yuan narrowed her beautiful eyes and turned to look at him: "Master Qin, you also think that Superintendent Zhou looks familiar, right? To be honest, I also think he looks very familiar. He looks quite like my late husband, doesn't he..."

A cryptic smile played on her lips: "But only my late husband's enemies in the mainland would find Superintendent Zhou's face... so familiar."

I wonder what Xiang Ziying, no, Qin Changsheng, thinks about this.

Qin Changsheng glanced at her coldly, as if she were someone who didn't know their own mortality—

"If you really think I'm your enemy, why did you get in my car? Did you really think that just because you have bodyguards with you, I can't do anything to you?"

Ning Yuan, however, showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, she examined the hideous scar on Qin Changsheng's face with great interest—

"Why wouldn't I dare? I'm just curious, Master Qin... why did you go crazy and save me once? And what was your purpose...? Was it really just for Fourth Uncle?"

Qin Changsheng's tone was cold and hard: "I had no ulterior motives; I was just being a masochist."

Ning Yuan choked, and even with her sharp tongue, she couldn't find the words to refute for a moment.

People say he's just being a jerk, what can he say?

Ning Yuan simply closed her eyes and leaned back in her chair to rest.

The man is now adamant that he is not Xiang Ziying, and she has no proof.

But what's the point of admitting it or not at this point?

After he suddenly saved her once, she couldn't figure out what he was thinking, but at least for the time being, there was no danger.

Qin Changsheng drove without looking to the side, seemingly completely unaware of Ning Yuan's emotional changes.

The two remained silent the entire way.

Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of Uncle Si's antique shop.

"We've arrived." Qin Changsheng coldly uttered two words, breaking the silence in the car.

Ning Yuan opened her eyes, looked at the familiar signs outside the window, unbuckled her seatbelt, and prepared to get out of the car.

Qin Changsheng suddenly spoke, his voice still cold and hard: "I advise you not to do anything stupid."

Ning Yuan paused, raised an eyebrow slightly, and asked with a hint of inquiry in her tone, "Oh?"

Qin Changsheng didn't look at her, but stared ahead: "No matter how similar people are, they are not the same person. Superintendent Zhou often goes to nightclubs in his spare time, and he also has a fiancée. Underneath the same face are two different hearts, understand?"

Ning Yuan scoffed lightly: "Tsk, Hall Master Qin is very well-informed."

Qin Changsheng finally turned his head, glanced at Ning Yuan, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips: "Who knows if someone like Superintendent Zhou has contracted any...unclean diseases? Don't let yourself be treated like food and end up with a whole host of dirty diseases."

Ning Yuan narrowed her eyes, looking him up and down, her tone slightly amusement: "Hey Qin Changsheng, when did we become so close? You've become so... direct with your words?"

She paused, then continued, "Or are you saying you came all this way today just to warn me?"

Qin Changsheng did not answer her question, but coldly urged, "Get out of the car!"

Ning Yuan snorted and was too lazy to waste any more words with him.

She slammed the car door shut and walked into her fourth uncle's shop without looking back.

My fourth uncle's antique shop is always filled with a faint sandalwood scent, mixed with the unique old smell of the objects.
