Zhou Yan stood quietly watching Ning Yuan.
His gaze swept over her arm linked with Ning Bing'an's, and the man's beautiful phoenix eyes curved slightly as he suddenly spoke: "Miss Ning, can we talk?"
Cha Meiling's face instantly turned even more unpleasant.
She held Zhou Yan's arm tightly and said gently, "Yan, we're going on stage in a little while. Today is... the day we officially announce to everyone that we are engaged."
Upon hearing this, Ning Yuan gave a cold and contemptuous sneer: "Sorry, Superintendent Zhou, I'm busy. You seem to be very busy today too."
Zhou Yan ignored Cha Meiling's words.
He merely raised an eyebrow at Ning Yuan and smiled slightly: "I heard that Miss Seven has recently been investing in the mainland? But if the police suspect your funding channels of money laundering, it will probably be very troublesome for you to bring your money into the mainland."
Ning Yuan narrowed her eyes, met Zhou Yan's gaze for a moment, and said in an icy tone, "Well done, Superintendent Zhou. What do you want to talk about? Or are we going to the police station for tea?"
Zhou Yan chuckled lightly: "No need for such trouble. We can just ask a few simple questions and chat on the terrace next door."
Ning Bing'an glanced at Ning Yuan with some concern, but Ning Yuan gave him a reassuring look.
"Brother Bing'an, I'm fine, I'll be right back."
After saying that, she didn't even look at Zhou Yan and walked towards the terrace first.
Cha Meiling's eyes were gloomy, and she could only watch helplessly as Zhou Yan coldly withdrew his hand from hers and followed Ning Yuan to the terrace.
She clenched her fists, but dared not lash out.
After a long pause, she swept her cold gaze toward Ning Bing'an beside her: "Ning Bing'an, why are you targeting me? I have never offended you. We grew up together. Ning Yuan is just a newcomer!"
Ning Bing'an gave her a cold look: "Growing up together? In the Ning family, whether you grew up together or not is not important at all. What matters is that you are useful. Also, I won't mention your second sister, and I won't embarrass you. You better remember that and don't mention her in front of me."
Cha Meiling's expression changed, and she suppressed her anger, her voice sharp: "Ning Bing'an, don't forget that Sister Manfei is still in Australia and can't come back. How can you face her for the feelings she has for you?"
Ning Bing'an said coldly, "Miss Cha, don't you know who my uncle wants me to marry? Of course I have to please my little sister, what else can I do?"
After saying that, he ignored Cha Meiling and turned to leave, leaving Cha Meiling alone, trembling with anger.
Cha Meiling stomped her foot angrily, looked in the direction where Zhou Yan and Ning Yuan disappeared with resentment, gritted her teeth, and followed them.
However, the hotel has more than a dozen terraces and lounges scattered throughout the area.
Cha Meiling lingered in the corridor for a while and asked the waiters, but she couldn't see anyone.
In one of the lounges, the sea breeze outside the window blew in with a moist scent.
Chu Hongyu replaced the tea on the coffee table for Ning Bingyu and said softly, "Young Master, please rest for a while. I'll wait for you outside."
She knew her boss had just been publicly humiliated and needed some time alone.
Ning Bingyu took the teacup but didn't drink it. He just looked at her with his cold, peach-blossom eyes and said, "Come here."
Chu Hongyu's heart skipped a beat, and she felt a vague sense of unease.
But she still walked up to him, her face expressionless: "Young Master, is there anything else?"
Unexpectedly, as soon as she got close, Ning Bingyu pulled her into his arms.
Chu Hongyu gasped in surprise. Before she could react, Ning Bingyu lowered his head and kissed her lips roughly.
Chu Hongyu's back slammed against the wall, and she immediately began to struggle, pressing her hands against Ning Bingyu's chest, trying to push him away: "Ugh...Young Master, don't do this...where are we..."
Ning Bingyu remained unmoved, instead gripping the back of her head even tighter, and said expressionlessly, "Shut up!"
He deepened the kiss, as if he wanted to devour her completely.
Chu Hongyu groaned, "Ugh..."
But she wisely stopped struggling, because she could sense that her boss was suppressing his anger, and even her junior boss was "angrily" confronting her.
After a long while, the man slightly pulled away from her lips, his voice low and husky, carrying a dangerous undertone—
"What did you promise me? In front of my uncle, I told him that I already had a lover and therefore wouldn't consider marriage anytime soon. He was furious. Today's performance is him whipping me. Chu Hongyu, do I need to teach you how to be a proper lover?"
Chu Hongyu was breathless from his kiss, her mind a little dazed: "But..."
Ning Bingyu lowered his head, staring at her with a dark gaze: "But what? Since we're lovers... I can kiss you whenever I want, is there a problem?"
Chu Hongyu licked her lips, which were slightly numb from his kisses, and said with a flushed face, "Even if... even if we have that kind of relationship, we've agreed that we're superior and subordinate during work hours!"
Could she really refuse Ning Bingyu's offer at that time?
She had absolutely no choice!
For the next two days after he unfortunately fell for Miss Li's drug, he treated her like a walking opium, dangerous and alluring.
Moreover, he was domineering and forceful, relentlessly pressing her and deliberately seducing her. She was powerless against him and couldn't escape him.
That feeling was like an addiction, making it hard for her to break free.
Her defenses crumbled completely.
The office desk and sofa became his battlefields of conquest, and he skillfully and expertly made her fall into his control.
If she were to feign reluctance to become his lover, it would only appear as if she were playing hard to get.
He also promised that during the period she agreed to be his mistress, he would not have any other women; she would be the only one until she returned to the mainland.
For her and him—
This is perhaps the best outcome.
Ning Bingyu casually took off his gold-rimmed glasses and threw them on the coffee table with a crisp "thud".
"Chu Hongyu, get this straight, I'm the boss. I decide when you start work and when you leave. It's time to leave now."
After saying that, he lowered his head again and kissed her roughly and passionately.
He was such a skilled kisser, stealing your breath from your lips to your tongue.
Chu Hongyu felt weak all over, and she had to lean against the table where the vase was placed to keep from collapsing.
She knew he was in a bad mood; beneath the coldness in his peach blossom eyes lay a dark, suppressed anger. She knew that nothing she said now would make a difference.
He wanted to kiss her... so he did. Luckily, she had locked the door when she came in.
Her mind was hazy.
But it wasn't until his hand slipped under her skirt and parted her soft, long legs that things changed.
Chu Hongyu then realized his intention, grabbed his shoulder, her fox-like eyes moist, and gasped in astonishment, "No! Not here! Ning Bingyu, don't go crazy!"
