Chapter 9 State-Run Restaurants
Lin Shanshan looked at Gu Yiye with suspicion, "You have other people in your life?"
Gu Yiye originally planned to keep it a secret from his family until after the family split up, but now, in order to prove his innocence, he had no choice but to tell them.
"Mom, my boyfriend is Lin Shanshan. I don't have any other boyfriends."

The waiter heard that the two had ordered four dishes and a soup, and that their tone was neither humble nor arrogant. He then carefully examined the two of them.
The man had a healthy complexion, a strong physique, a handsome face, beautiful phoenix eyes, a high nose bridge, and a very commanding presence.
The woman was young, with a pair of almond-shaped eyes that seemed to be smiling, a small and delicate nose, and a full and plump mouth. Although her clothes were the kind that working people often wore, they could not hide her beautiful face.
The two of them had a very good demeanor; they were clearly not poor.
The waiter changed his attitude and said with a smile, "Just a moment, it will be ready soon."
After Lin Shanshan sat down and ordered the food, she seemed to remember something and asked, "How do you two know that factory manager's daughter, Tang Hong?"
Gu Yiye said, "When I went to the black market to sell things, someone was eyeing her money and chased after her to rob her. I saved her."

As the two were talking, all the dishes were served.
The squirrel-shaped mandarin fish is crispy, fresh, and has a sweet and sour flavor.
The braised pork belly is oily but not greasy, tender, and sweet.
The spicy chicken is numbing and refreshing, with a savory and rich flavor.
The lettuce and tomato and egg soup perfectly balanced the greasiness of the three meat dishes. Lin Shanshan ate some of each dish and a bowl of rice.
The rest were all swept away by Gu Yiye!
This meal cost one jin of grain coupons, or 20 yuan. That's equivalent to a month's wages for an average worker.
But it's worth the price, it's really delicious!
