Chapter 207: Fierce Eyes

Shen Weidong almost trotted to Xia Weian's interrogation room.

"Open the door." He said to the police officer standing guard in the corridor.

Because of what happened then, Shen Weidong had already assigned more people to stand guard on each floor. He had previously relaxed a bit because he considered that everyone was too tired.

As a result, who would have thought that just a moment of slackness would allow Wang Fang and Liu Xiangyang to take advantage of the opportunity.

The interrogation room opened and Shen Weidong strode forward.

"Weian, let's go now. You and your sister-in-law can go back now."

"Really, so soon?" Xia Weian didn't expect that he would be released in the middle of the night.

"It's something that Chengwu brought. It's very useful. It has cleared you and your sister-in-law of suspicion. Plus..."

Shen Weidong glanced back and saw the police officer on guard very tactfully walked to the other end of the corridor.

Shen Weidong then whispered, “Changan and I don’t know who it is, but they also greeted the leader.”

Shen Weidong smiled.

"I didn't expect you to have such a wide network of contacts."

Xia Weian felt a little embarrassed. He guessed that the other person who greeted him should be Sui Chengxiao. After all, he only knew these two people.

"Thank you, Brother Shen. I'll go home when I'm done."

"good."

Shen Weidong patted Xia Weian’s shoulder and went next door to release Song Qingyun.

"You can go back now, sister-in-law. Thank you for your hard work."

Song Qingyun smiled, and for a moment he didn't know how to respond. It wasn't good to say it wasn't hard, but it wasn't good to say it was hard either.

Shen Weidong led the two to the conference room.

Han Chengwu stood up immediately when he saw Xia Weian and Song Qingyun.

"Uncle San, Aunt San, are you all okay?"

Looking at the two people's obviously tired expressions, Han Chengwu's eyes were full of worry.

Uncle Lao Gen also stood up, his eyes full of concern, "Old Third..."

"Uncle Lao Gen, Chengwu, we are fine. We didn't suffer much."

"Director Chen, can we go back now?" Han Chengwu asked.

"Alright, Captain Han, Uncle Lao Gen, the things you sent over must be kept confidential."

"I know, don't worry."

Shen Weidong nodded then.

“Okay, then go back and have a good rest.” Shen Weidong said.

"Okay, we'll be leaving now. Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Shen."

Xia Weian shook hands with Shen Weidong solemnly, and neither of them said anything else.

Shen Weidong had someone send them downstairs, called the two militiamen who had followed them, and everyone got on the tractor together. Han Chengwu drove the tractor back.

Shen Weidong watched them leave and turned to leave his office.

"Is that person awake?"

"He's still unconscious. He might have been hit a little hard, but he's definitely fine."

"Okay, then lock him up first and interrogate him as soon as he wakes up."

"Yes, Chief."

Shen Weidong made the arrangements, and he himself was exhausted.

"Alright, everyone, take turns standing guard and continue the battle tomorrow."

"Yes, Chief." Everyone responded.

It's three o'clock in the morning at the brigade headquarters.

The two militiamen went to the militia captain to report the situation.

Han Chengwu took the tractor keys away directly. Tomorrow morning, he planned to take the children to school by himself and let Xia Weian rest at home.

"Let's go, let's send Uncle Lao Gen home first, and then the three of us will go back."

"What do you want to send? They are all in the village. I can go there by myself." Uncle Lao Gen said hurriedly.

"Uncle Lao Gen, let's go." Xia Weian pulled Uncle Lao Gen and left.

Uncle Lao Gen is happy.

"I'm glad to see you guys back safely."

"Uncle Lao Gen, what's going on with that box?" Xia Weian asked.

Uncle Lao Gen told him that when he and Shuanzi knew he was in trouble, they went to the county to find Li Li, and then found Sui Chengxiao, and they picked up the box on the way back.

Xia Weian was so moved that he held Uncle Lao Gen's hand tightly.

"Uncle Lao Gen, thank you and Shuanzi."

"Why are you being so polite to us? Would Shuanzi be where he is today without you? To be frank, I really treat you as my own son."

"Uncle Lao Gen..." Xia Weian was so moved that he was speechless.

Neither his biological parents nor his adoptive parents treated him as their own son. It was Uncle Lao Gen who gave him the same care as a father. How could Xia Weian not be moved?

Uncle Lao Gen said cheerfully, "What's past is past. Minor disasters and misfortunes are just for accumulating blessings for the future. Don't dwell on it too much."

"I know." Xia Weian responded.

The three of them sent Uncle Lao Gen to his doorstep.

Shuanzi had not gone to bed yet, and Aunt Gen had not gone to bed either. The two of them were sitting in the main room, lighting a dim lamp. When they heard footsteps at the door, Shuanzi immediately jumped out.

"father!"

"It's me." Uncle Lao Gen responded.

Shuanzi opened the door and saw Xia Weian and Song Qingyun, his eyes lit up.

"Third brother, third sister-in-law, you are back!"

"We're back, everything is fine now. Thank you Shuanzi."

Xia Weian walked up and hugged Shuanzi.

Shuanzi was a little embarrassed, "We didn't do anything."

"You provided key evidence." Xia Weian said solemnly.

Shuanzi chuckled, "That fall between me and my dad wasn't in vain."

Several people laughed, but in order not to disturb the neighbors, they kept their voices low.

"That's it for today. After you've rested for two days, let's come to my house for dinner together," said Xia Weian.

"When the time comes, I'll ask Chengwu to come and call you."

"Okay." Uncle Lao Gen and Shuanzi both responded.

Now everyone can fall asleep.

There are militiamen patrolling the courtyard and the gate.
