Chapter 16 The Sense of Security a Man Gives Her
She recognized the woman; she was the secretary's daughter, Jin Qiaomei.
Jin Qiaomei arranged a marriage for Su Xu through a matchmaker, but Su Xu refused, citing poor health as the reason, fearing it would delay her marriage. However, Jin Qiaomei seemed completely unconcerned and continued to relentlessly pursue Su Xu.
But from then on, rumors began to circulate in the village that Su Xu was no good.

Su Xu looked up and saw Jin Qiaomei. He quickly grabbed the coat from the ground and put it on.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Su Xu glared at them, and the group immediately shut their mouths. As the team leader, he was usually stern and serious, and he worked quickly and efficiently, giving him a lot of authority in the team.
Su Hang was working here, carrying manure, and his body reeked of filth, so no one dared to approach him.
He scoffed dismissively, "I wonder if he'll have the good fortune to enjoy it!"
Jin Qiaomei, dressed in a floral dress she bought in the city, walked towards Su Xu in a flamboyant manner.
She looked at Su Xu with resentment in her eyes, "Brother Xu, I know you had no choice but to marry her under those circumstances, I don't mind."
"What do you mean you two dated for a long time? I don't believe it at all! I was clinging to you and following you around every day back then. If there were women around you, how could I not know?" Jin Qiaomei blushed with embarrassment. She raised her chin and shouted, "What's so good about her? Besides being pretty, what else does she have? I'm the March 8th Red Banner Pacesetter of our village! I'm second to none in everything. Liu Nian is just lazy and good-for-nothing because she's the village chief's daughter. She's a parasite on socialism!"
"She's my wife, I won't allow you to talk about her like that." Su Xu raised his head slightly, his eyes filled with a kind of obsessive and ferocious emotion, his whole body exuding violence.
Jin Qiaomei was so frightened that she took a few steps back. Su Xu had been indifferent before and was calm about everything. How could he suddenly become so scary?
"No! You don't like Liu Nian at all. It's Liu Nian who's been clinging to you, isn't it? She used underhanded tactics to scheme to marry you!"
With red eyes, Jin Qiaomei glanced around, feeling no shame, and declared directly, "Brother Xu, I'm waiting for you to get a divorce!"
Su Xu was probably annoyed, so he waved his hand and said, "Don't bother me anymore. I can't divorce Liu Nian, and I don't want her to misunderstand."
After saying that, Su Xu turned and walked into the field. Jin Qiaomei gritted her teeth and stared at Su Xu's back, stomping her feet in anger.
But she felt sorry for Su Xu; Su Xu deserved better, like her. Could someone like Liu Nian be happy? Jin Qiaomei turned and left indignantly.
"Does Jin Qiaomei have some serious illness? She says she doesn't mind, but acts like she only didn't ruin your wedding because of you, and that she loves you so much that she'd be your mistress. Isn't she overthinking things?"
"But Su Xu is such a good man. His straightforward refusal gave Nian Nian a great sense of security. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Su Xu's disgusted look."
Watching her husband reject another woman with his own eyes, his resolute manner was so cool, Liu Nian felt a little proud. This time, she hadn't married the wrong person.
The takeout arrived, and Liu Nian separated the items and put them into a lunchbox. She also picked a few melons and fruits from the farm, which she would deliver to Su Xu and his brothers when it was time for lunch.
Wang Xiuzhi and Liu Xiangxiang stared wide-eyed as Liu Nian carried his things out the door.
Wang Xiuzhi cursed, "What a spendthrift!"
No sooner had Liu Nian left than Jin Qiaomei entered the Su family home, muttering, "I just saw it, Liu Nian was carrying such a big bag of melons! Auntie, how do you think Xu Ge will live from now on? Liu Nian will ruin his life!"
"Absolutely! To be honest, I really don't like Liu Nian." Wang Xiuzhi grabbed Jin Qiaomei's hand and patted it. "I just want you to be my daughter-in-law!"
Liu Xiangxiang chimed in, "You seem like an easy person to get along with, unlike that Liu Nian, who started making a scene about separating the family on her very first day in the family, and didn't respect her elders or parents at all. My mother-in-law has suffered so much!"
After she finished speaking, Wang Xiuzhi wiped away tears, pretending to cry.
"I wish I were your daughter-in-law, I would definitely take good care of you." Jin Qiaomei sighed, "But it wasn't me who married Xu Ge."
"Don't worry!" Wang Xiuzhi's old face twitched, and she laughed until her eyes disappeared. "I promise you'll become my daughter-in-law!"
She has a solution!
Wang Xiuzhi beckoned to Jin Qiaomei and whispered in her ear, "She's going back to her parents' home tomorrow, you should..."
Jin Qiaomei's eyes immediately lit up, and she nodded repeatedly, "Okay! Let's do it that way!"
