Chapter 188 His wife was stunned, but still remembered who he was.
She sat directly opposite Li Cuihua, opened the oil paper, and immediately a fragrant aroma filled the air.
The best quality pig's head meat, fresh out of the pot, was still steaming hot, and its aroma wafted into Li Cuihua's nose.
Li Cuihua stared at the pig's head meat in front of Liu Nian, drool dripping from the corner of her mouth.

Her eyes revealed an intense longing, but she didn't say she wanted to eat, instead looking at him with pleading eyes.
She glanced at him, then turned her head and stared longingly at the steaming pig's head.
Li Dongbo suddenly felt a pang of sadness, and his eyes welled up with tears. He looked at his silly wife with a heavy heart.
She was stunned, she understood nothing, but she still knew who he was and listened to everything he said. Even when faced with enormous temptations, she could still resist.
How long has it been since they last ate meat? Li Dongbo felt like he wasn't a real man, unable to even give his wife a bite of meat.
The meat was now placed in front of his wife. She wanted to eat a bite, her eyes filled with eagerness and longing, but unlike other madmen who would cry and scream for food.
This is what Li Dongbo finds most unbearable.

So when Li Cuihua looked at him again with pleading eyes, his throat tightened, and he suppressed the bitterness in his heart, saying, "Eat."

Looking at her retreating figure, Li Dongbo's previous pretense and disguise vanished, replaced by the helplessness of a middle-aged man.
He wanted Li Cuihua to be patient and wait until he had the money to buy it for her, but looking at his wife's expression, he couldn't bring himself to say it.
Ultimately, it was his incompetence that prevented her from having a good life, and now he's making her take the blame and be labeled as a unreasonable person.
