Chapter 215: All Three Babies Are Shocking
Sanbao looked at the words on the picture book and actually read them aloud very seriously, “Big, man, field, heaven, king, earth!”
"I know it too! I know it too!" Erbao, with his messy hair, rushed over and said, "This character is called 'da' (大)! This is the 'tian' (田) in 'field' (田地)..."
Everyone was surprised, especially Liu Nian. These two children had never liked studying and he had never seen them study. How did they learn to read?
She found it all very strange, and she took Sanbao and Erbao's hands and asked, "How do you know these words?"
Sanbao tilted his head back, wiped the mud off his face, and said, "I learned it after listening to you teach my older brother!"
“Yes!” Erbao nodded, his chubby little face bobbing. “I know it too! But I don’t like studying, it’s so boring.”
The two kids play wildly every day and avoid picture books.
This amazed the aunties and grandmas watching, who kept praising it.
"I thought only your eldest child was so smart, but I didn't expect your other two children to be so smart too! They didn't even study seriously, but they already know how to read."
“Our General Village produced a female scholar named Su Feng before, who knows, maybe the future top scholar will be from your family! Look at other people’s children, and then look at my good-for-nothing son, he’s been to school for a year and he can’t even read a single character!”
"Other people's kids study so hard, but it's not as good as your kid listening to a little bit of literature in his spare time. Tsk tsk, he must be a reincarnation of the God of Literature!"
Yang's wife, who was listening nearby, felt that these words were meant for her, and her face immediately darkened.
She originally thought that even if Yang Peng couldn't compare to Da Bao, he would still be smarter than Er Bao and San Bao. But who would have thought that other people's children would exceed her expectations?
She taught Yang Peng for several days, and he finally learned a few characters. But what about Erbao and Sanbao? These two kids didn't learn at all, yet they were much better than Yang Peng.
How could Yang's wife not be furious in this situation? She had worked so hard to raise her child and wanted to show off, but what was the result? Instead, she was subtly and utterly humiliated.
Embarrassed, Yang's wife blushed bright red and grabbed Yang Peng, saying irritably, "You go home!"
Yang Peng was reluctantly pulled along by his sister-in-law, staggering as they walked home.
"How can you be so stupid!" Aunt Yang grumbled as she walked. "I've taught you so many times, and you're still not as good as Erbao and Sanbao! Can't you make your mother proud?"
She poked Yang Peng's head with her finger, exasperated, and said through gritted teeth, "You're just like your father!"
Little Yangpeng didn't dare to make a sound, tears welling in his eyes as he was pulled forward. He didn't know what had happened; his older brother, Dabao, had clearly taught him everything, so why was his mother still angry?
September 1st, the first day of school.
Liu Nian planned to take her eldest child to kindergarten. The eldest child, carrying a small backpack, followed Liu Nian, swaying along. As for her second and third children, they said they didn't want to go to school, and Liu Nian didn't force them.
After all, it's better for kids of this age to play wildly.
She ran into Sister Yang as soon as she stepped out the door. Sister Yang was immediately startled when she saw Da Bao carrying his schoolbag.
"Girl, are you taking your eldest child to kindergarten?"
Liu Nian nodded, put Da Bao on the back of the bicycle, and slowly rode forward, saying, "Yes." She gave an awkward smile and didn't say anything more.
She didn't want to talk too much with Sister Yang, so she accelerated and pedaled quickly, leaving Sister Yang behind.
Aunt Yang stood with her hands on her hips, watching Liu Nian's retreating figure. She narrowed her eyes and muttered to herself, "She's trying to make her child secretly improve so he can leave everyone else far behind! No way, my Yang Peng has to go to kindergarten too!"
She immediately headed home and scurried off to drag Yang Peng out of his grandmother's house.
"Hurry up, Da Bao's already in school, you can't fall behind!" While carrying Yang Peng's schoolbag, Sister Yang urged, "I'm telling you, study hard when you get to school, and you absolutely must surpass Da Bao! Do you hear me!"
These past few days, she's been reflecting on things at home, and she's come to realize that her eldest son isn't all that great. Her son, Yang Peng, is also very smart; the problem is with her—she's not as educated as Liu Nian and hasn't raised Yang Peng well.
But things will be different once he goes to kindergarten. With teachers there, Yang Peng's potential will definitely be unleashed, and surpassing Da Bao will be a piece of cake.
Yang Peng looked reluctant and pitifully at his grandmother. His grandmother couldn't get a word in edgewise, and in the end, Yang's sister-in-law took him to the kindergarten in her car.
When they arrived, Da Bao was sitting at the table, listening attentively to the lesson.
Liu Nian was watching from outside the door when he saw Sister Yang coming over, and his eyelids twitched.
