The eldest brother turned around, puzzled. When he saw Su Xu and Liu Nian, he snorted, "So they were hiding after all! Who are they trying to scare with their ghostly antics!"
"I just wanted to scare you!" Liu Nian said with a smile, then grabbed Su Xu's hand and disappeared again.
The man, who was over six feet tall and weighed around 200 pounds, immediately let out a howl: "Ah—!"
His henchmen behind him also screamed, "Ah—ghosts! They're ghosts!"
The next second, the two reappeared. Liu Nian frowned and looked at them, saying, "You're the ghost!"
A group of people looked at the two of them with trepidation, their bodies trembling and on the verge of tears.
"What the hell are you guys?" the eldest brother asked, his voice hoarse, his legs trembling as he shrank back.
Since they believe in ghosts and gods, why not follow their line of thinking?
Liu Nian took a step forward and said, "I am a deity."
Although this reason is awkward, most people wouldn't believe it.
To convince them, Liu Nian reached out her hand, and an apple appeared in her hand.
A group of people stared wide-eyed, "This—"
Liu Nian tossed the apple to Su Xu, then raised her hand and a banana appeared in her palm. Liu Nian slowly peeled the banana and said, "What, you still don't believe me?"
"I can make any one of you disappear with a flick of my finger." Liu Nian waved her finger casually, finally pointing at Chicken Strips and saying, "Why don't you try?"
Chicken Strip's head shook like a rattle, "No, no!"
He immediately kowtowed on the ground, pleading, "I believe you, I believe you are a god! Please, spare me!"
Perhaps it was because Liu Nian was so good at persuasion, and because Chicken Strip was so sincere and believed him without a doubt, that the group of underlings immediately knelt down as well, pleading, "Gods, please spare us!"
Liu Nian then gestured with her chin towards her older brother and said, "What about you? How about I make you disappear for a bit? Or take you to see our world of immortals?"
As the saying goes, to catch a thief, you must first catch his king. If you can get the leader under control, you won't have to worry about his underlings not obeying you.
Before her older brother could react, Liu Nian had already grabbed his arm.
After a moment of dizziness, the older brother stood still, looking around with eyes that seemed to bulge out of their sockets.
Liu Nian chuckled, "Welcome to our world of immortals."
In the distance, high mountains are shrouded in mist, springs gurgle, and vast fields are filled with various grains.
The eldest brother was so shocked he couldn't speak, and then looked up at the huge bird flying overhead.
Liu Nian raised an eyebrow at his shocked expression; it seemed he had been fooled by her.
Then, the older brother excitedly knelt down in front of Liu Nian with a thud, crying out, "God, I repent! Please, spare my life!"
"Just spare my life and protect my family, and I'll do whatever you ask."
Liu Nian nodded, watching him kowtow devoutly, and said, "Really? You'll do whatever I tell you to do?"
The eldest brother was practically clasping his hands together and offering incense to Liu Nian when he immediately nodded and said, "Of course! I will never go back on my word!"
"Alright, then I'll let you take your henchmen to turn yourself in, and then turn over a new leaf and do good deeds to make up for the mistakes you made before!"
Liu Nian then said, half-jokingly and half-seriously, "Put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately, good, good."
"God! You are saving me, thank you! Thank you!" The elder brother shed tears of regret and gratitude.
Liu Nian's lips twitched. There was no need for that... but showing off was quite fun too.
