Chapter 59 The Evil Mother-in-Law Goes Offline

Wang Xiuzhi's cry was so heartfelt that she managed to absolve herself of all responsibility.

"Liu Nian, you actually betrayed me! How can I face anyone after this?!"

A group of fierce-looking villagers from Wanjiatun surrounded Liu Nianjia, carrying hoes in their hands.

Wang Xiuzhi put on a very serious act in front of them, wiping away tears and kneeling down with a thud, looking aggrieved.

"Although I don't want to take the blame for her, it's my fault for not raising my daughter-in-law properly! It's my fault! I apologize on behalf of my daughter-in-law!" Wang Xiuzhi, her hair disheveled, put her hands on the ground and kowtowed to the ground. "Please, please spare my daughter-in-law's life!"

Wanjiatun is quite far from Jiangjuntun. They didn't know much about Wang Xiuzhi, so they immediately thought that Wang Xiuzhi was a really good mother-in-law. She was tricked by her daughter-in-law, but she even apologized on her behalf.

The leader, a man named Wan Jianshe, said angrily, "This has nothing to do with you, ma'am! Get up! We're looking for Liu Nian!"

He bent down and helped Wang Xiuzhi up with both hands. Looking at the old woman's gray hair, he felt even worse. That Liu Nian was too despicable; she didn't even show up after the incident, leaving an old woman to suffer in her place.

Wang Xiuzhi lowered her head and wiped away her tears, feigning concern as she said, "Please, don't make things difficult for my daughter-in-law. If you have any problems, come at me directly."

"Auntie, don't worry, we're all reasonable people." Wan Jianshe's face was contorted with rage, his eyes blazing with fury. He clenched his fist and said, "Liu Nian isn't going to get away with this today, no matter what!"

Everyone nodded in grief and indignation, wishing they could smash Liu Nian's house to pieces right away.

Some even praised Wang Xiuzhi, saying, "How could such a sensible woman like you have such a daughter-in-law?"

"Oh, what can I do?" Wang Xiuzhi sighed, feigning worry. "She is my daughter-in-law after all, so I have to listen to her in everything, right? How was I supposed to know that it was fake medicine?"

Listen to this! This mother-in-law actually has to watch her daughter-in-law's expression. These days, it's all about the mother-in-law bossing her daughter-in-law around, and she has the final say.

Wan Jianshe said with a heavy heart, "Auntie, you've been wronged."

Taking advantage of the moment when no one was looking, Wang Xiuzhi smirked smugly.

"Someone! Put my wife at her front door!" Wan Jianshe waved his hand, and two men behind him carried a wooden plank with a woman on it, clutching her legs and groaning in pain.

She bought face cream from Wang Xiuzhi, who said it could cure the wound on her leg, but instead it didn't heal and it even festered!

Wan Jianshe, growing increasingly furious as he waited in vain, raised his hand and shouted, "Break down her door! See if she's hiding inside, too afraid to come out!"

The agitated crowd immediately roared and swung their hoes.

"Let's see who dares!" Su Xu gripped the shovel, his whole demeanor fierce. With a bang, he blocked the swinging hoe.

Everyone looked over and saw Su Xuheng with cold brows, his broad and tall figure blocking the doorway.

His facial muscles tensed, his gaze sharp. He frowned, sweeping his gaze over the crowd, his voice fierce, "This is my home. Anyone who dares to take a step forward, be careful, I won't be polite!"

Su Xu's teammates, each one burly and with a resolute gaze, stood behind Su Xu, their backs straight.

Wan Jianshe, who had just been yelling that he would smash the door, immediately took a step back and said, "Are you the head of this household?"

Su Xu nodded with a cold expression, "Yes, I am Liu Nian's man."

"Alright, then hurry up and hand over your wife!"

Wan Jianshe turned around and gave the people of Wanjiatun a meaningful look.

They immediately raised their arms and shouted, "Hand it over!"

"Hand it over!"

Wan Jianshe said, "Otherwise, we won't be polite!"

The people behind him immediately shouted, "Otherwise, we won't be polite!"

"I'd like to see just how impolite you are," Liu Nian's cold voice rang out.

Liu Nian stood calmly outside the crowd, showing no sign of panic.

The crowd quickly made way, and Liu Nian walked over unhurriedly and stood next to Su Xu.

"Are you alright?" Su Xu asked worriedly as he helped Liu Nian up, then glared at everyone for daring to wrong his Nian Nian.
