Chapter 80 Something Happened Over There

Du Jianguo was quickly sent to a mental hospital by the Liu family. Liu Nian knew people at the hospital and specifically instructed them to take good care of him.

"I told you, my son isn't sick!" Li Caiyan shouted at Liu Dayong from the hospital entrance, "Why did you send him to this hospital?!"

Is a mental hospital a place for humans? She couldn't bear to let her precious son live in such a place.

Liu Nian smirked at Liu Dayong, telling him to ignore Li Caiyan and just wait and see what happens.

Li Caiyan kept muttering to herself, then turned and rushed into the hospital, shouting at the doctor, "Quickly get my son a discharge certificate!"

The doctor frowned, glanced at Li Caiyan, and said, "Bring the patient's guardian."

"What guardian?" Li Caiyan was very confused. "Just let my son be discharged from the hospital, why do you need a guardian?"

“Your son is married, so his wife is his guardian. You are not qualified,” the doctor said patiently. “Have your daughter-in-law apply.”

"I'm his mother! He listens to everything I say!" Li Caiyan said rather domineeringly. "Who does she think she is! Can she compare to me?"

The doctor, feeling helpless, could only sigh and say, "Your son is married now, so you're no longer his guardian. Do you understand?"

Li Caiyan wanted to say something more, but Liu Xiuxiu walked in.

“Xiuxiu,” Li Caiyan grabbed Xiuxiu and said in a sharp tone, “Hurry up and get Jianguo discharged from the hospital! My son can’t suffer in the hospital.”

Liu Xiuxiu glanced at Li Caiyan, then turned to the doctor and said, "My husband looks quite ill, so let him stay inside a little longer."

"What?" Li Caiyan glared angrily, pointing at Liu Xiuxiu and cursing, "How can you be so heartless? If you just let him out and took good care of him, he would be fine. You made him feel like he was in prison in the hospital! You vicious woman!"

Liu Xiuxiu slapped away her outstretched hand and said coldly, "I am his guardian. I have the right to do so, and only I have the right to do so."

The Liu family was waiting at the door. Li Caiyan rushed out with her neck stiffened, about to curse, but seeing the scene, she immediately swallowed her anger.

The Du family was notoriously stingy in Dujiazhuang. They were unwilling to give money as a wedding or funeral gift, and eventually, no one associated with them anymore.

When something goes wrong, naturally no one will help. Even close brothers won't get involved, let alone strangers.

She now realizes the benefits of having many people around, but everyone avoids her when they see her, afraid of getting into unnecessary trouble.

The entire Liu family ate and drank at the Du family's house for several days, gaining a lot of weight. Before leaving, they almost emptied the house, taking everything they could with them.

Du Huihuang and Li Caiyan were busy running around the hospital, and when they got home, they found that their home was truly destitute.

Just then, the supply and marketing cooperative came knocking on the door, holding an IOU and saying, "Brother Huihuang, shouldn't you settle this debt you owe us?"

"What?" Du Huihuang stared at the pile of IOUs, his hands trembling. "I didn't buy anything on credit!"

"Your in-laws bought it on credit, you'd better pay them right now." This man wasn't exactly known for his good temper either. "We live in the same village. If you dare to buy on credit, I'll make sure you can't stay in the village anymore!"

"Or I could go to the village chief and ask them to uphold justice!"

"This whole family is a bunch of scoundrels!" Li Caiyan cursed. "All they know how to do is bully people!"

Her heart was bleeding, and she finally handed over her most precious savings with great reluctance.

"They planned this from the very beginning!" Du Huihuang jumped up and down angrily. "They're treating us like suckers."

Li Caiyan wiped away her tears. "That's not the important thing. The important thing is Jianguo. He can't even leave the hospital now."

Moreover, the hospital refused to allow visitors, making it difficult for them to even see Du Jianguo.

The Du family was shrouded in gloom, while the Liu family returned home happily.

When they got home, the whole family gathered around the big iron pot to eat stew, chatting and laughing, creating a lively atmosphere.

"We have to thank Nianya for this! It was all her idea." Liu Dayong gratefully raised his glass and said, "Thank you, Second Uncle!"
