Chapter 337 The First Order Before Setting Up the Stall

Mix the ingredients together until the sugar dissolves, then strain twice to make the egg tart filling.

The second batch of tart shells has been baked and taken out to cool.

Su Yan poured the egg tart filling evenly onto the tart shells, added raisins to four of them, and then put them in the oven.

"Generally, the oven needs to be preheated before baking egg tarts. After preheating, you can put the egg tarts in to bake. First, bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes, and then bake at 230 degrees for 3 minutes. Keep the time between 15 and 20 minutes, and the baked egg tarts will have a very nice color."

After explaining, Su Yan looked at them and asked, "Did you understand?"

Chen Ting and Deng Ziyi shook their heads in unison.

They simply can't remember so much at once!

At this moment, Bai Meng raised her hand, "I've memorized it, and I've even written down the steps. Please check if there are any mistakes."

Bai Meng handed the notebook in her hand to Su Yan.

Su Yan was a little surprised after reading it and laughed, "Mengmeng might have a talent for baking! She remembered it perfectly."

She spoke very quickly, but Bai Meng's notes were full of important points, with no steps missing.

Bai Meng asked doubtfully, "I think it's quite simple. If you let me do it by myself, I should be fine."

To everyone's surprise, Su Yan readily agreed, "Sure, after you finish baking these 16 egg tarts, you can make one yourself."

"Huh?" Bai Meng's eyes widened in disbelief. "You really want me to operate this alone?"

"How could it be fake? If yours is almost the same as mine, then I'll take care of teaching you from now on, and you'll be in charge of teaching Ziyi and Chen Ting."

When Bai Meng looked at Su Yan's smiling face, she suddenly stopped being nervous.

She couldn't let Ayan down, since Ayan trusted her so much.

She replied earnestly, "Okay!"

The egg tarts were ready after 18 minutes.

The moment it was taken out of the oven, the aroma of milk in the house became even stronger.

Su Yan placed the egg tarts on the dining table.

The freshly baked egg tarts were still steaming hot, and the surface of the yellow filling was tinged with a caramel color, making them incredibly tempting.

Bai Meng, Deng Ziyi, and Chen Ting stared intently at the egg tarts, unable to resist swallowing hard.

Just as Su Yan was about to say something, there was a knock on the door.

She went to open the door, and seeing the person at the door, she exclaimed in surprise, "Assistant Wen? Weren't you catching up on sleep?"

Wen Liangce craned his neck to look inside and said, "I was sleeping, but the egg tarts you made smelled so good that they woke me up from hunger. Are you making egg tarts? They smell a little different from the ones I've had outside."

Su Yan stepped aside to let him in, and asked curiously, "What's different?"

"The ones sold outside don't smell as good as yours."

Just as Su Yan was about to close the door, she suddenly felt a resistance from the outside pulling her back, which startled her so much that she quickly let go.

Sure enough, the door swung open and slammed against the wall, accompanied by a painful cry of surprise, "Ouch! I almost fell and killed myself!"

The people inside came out immediately upon hearing the noise.

Wen Liangce turned back and shielded Su Yan behind him, staring warily at the doorway. "Who's there?"

A young woman came out from behind the door, smiling awkwardly, "Hello."

The woman was still wearing pajamas, and her hair was still loose; she was clearly a resident of the apartment building.

Su Yan frowned and asked, "Who are you?"

The woman quickly said, "I'm a resident downstairs. I came up here following the scent. I thought it was coming from here, so I closed the door. I'm sorry for being so abrupt."

Upon hearing this, the people inside the room breathed a sigh of relief.

Su Yan said, both amused and exasperated, "Then you could have knocked on the door. You really startled us just now."

"I'm sorry!" the woman said apologetically, "I didn't mean to."

"It's okay, it's good that you explained it clearly. Next time you need something, just knock on the door."

The woman nodded and asked, "Are you grilling something?"

Deng Ziyi said, "Yes, we are baking egg tarts."

"Egg tarts?" the woman asked in surprise. "Can I see them?"

Deng Ziyi looked at Su Yan, and only took it out from the house after seeing her nod. "Here, take a look."

The woman's eyes widened. "How come this is different from what I eat at the Western restaurant? It smells even better!"

And it looks better.

"Of course it's different. Our egg tarts are all handmade, which takes a lot of time, and we use the best ingredients." Su Yan explained, "This is the first time we've made them today. We plan to set up a stall outside the school to sell them once we've seasoned them."

"How much does one of your egg tarts cost?"

Before Bai Meng could answer, Su Yan spoke first: "Students pay three for one yuan, and others pay two for one yuan. Since we are medical students, students don't have much money, so we sell them cheaper."

Two for one yuan, cheaper than what you get at a Western restaurant.

The woman replied without hesitation, "Do you sell what you're making now? I'll take three yuan."

“Okay,” Su Yan asked. “What flavor do you want? We have raisin and original flavors.”

Before the woman could ask anything, she explained, "The raisins are a new flavor we developed ourselves; they're a bit sweeter than the original."

"Then give me two raisins, and the rest can be plain," the woman said, taking out three yuan from her pocket and giving it to Su Yan.

Su Yan quickly packed six egg tarts for her and said with a smile, "If you think they taste good, you're welcome to come again next time."

Before she could finish speaking, the woman had already opened the grape-flavored drink and popped it into her mouth. After chewing a couple of times, her eyes widened in amazement, and she gave a thumbs up. "So delicious! Much better than what you get at Western restaurants!"

After swallowing, she continued, "From now on, please leave me 3 yuan every other day. I'll come to you to collect it when I get off work, okay?"

"No problem!" Su Yan said with a smile, "May I ask your name?"

"My name is Mao Linyu, and I live downstairs from you," Mao Linyu said.

"Okay, thank you for your support, Ms. Mao."

Mao Linyu waved her hand dismissively, "Then I'll head back now. Remember to save some egg tarts for me."

After saying that, she ate as she went downstairs. Halfway down, she didn't watch where she was going and almost fell.

Su Yan smiled and closed the door.

The three people inside, including Deng Ziyi, were still in shock.

"Sold the first order so quickly? Am I dreaming?" Deng Ziyi asked in a daze.

Bai Meng pinched her, making her scream in pain.

Bai Meng said, "Now do you know whether you're dreaming or not?"

Deng Ziyi glared at her with teary eyes, "You were way too ruthless!"

Su Yan smiled and said, "Alright, everyone, hurry up and try the egg tarts. They won't taste as good when they're cold."

Upon hearing this, everyone eagerly picked up the egg tarts to taste.

I baked a total of 16, sold 6 to Mao Linyu, and have 10 left.

"Delicious!" Deng Ziyi stomped her feet, enjoying the delicious food.

Bai Meng nodded repeatedly, "The taste is miles better than the egg tart I ate before!"
