Chapter 438 Wen Nai's Fiancé

Su Yan was extremely surprised; she never expected that Wen Nai would already have a fiancé.

"Isn't your fiancé good enough? You're your parents' only child, so they should respect your wishes, right? Why would they force you to be with someone you don't like?"

Wen Nai sighed, "Although they love me very much, the Wen family's business is too big. There are already many eyes eyeing it covetously. However, since my parents are still in power, no one dares to make any moves. Once I take over all the businesses, there will definitely be many people eager to try and take a piece of the pie."

They were worried that I would be bullied and my business would be divided up after they passed away, so they attached great importance to my marriage. Even if I didn't like it, there was nothing I could do. My fiancé and my family were in similar circumstances, and we had known each other since childhood.

My fiancé isn't bad; he cares for me a lot and has always been chaste and responsible, fulfilling his duties as a future husband. It's just that I don't like his type. So, I'm thinking that once we return to M country, I need to gain my parents' approval before the wedding, and then I'll take the opportunity to propose annuling the engagement.

The person who actually dislikes her fiancé is the one who traveled from another world, not the Wen Nai from the original world.

Su Yan pinched her chin. "Is your fiancé a pure Westerner?"

Wenna thought she shouldn't know what "foreigner" meant, but she actually understood it.

"Gui Lao" refers to foreigners.

"No, he is of mixed Chinese and American descent. In terms of appearance, he looks more like he has genes from country A. If it weren't for his bright blue pupils, many people would probably think he is from country A."

Su Yan said, "I remember you like tough guys. What? Your fiancé is rich, but isn't he handsome too?"

"To be honest, I haven't really looked at his face very closely." Wen Nai thought for a moment before saying, "To be fair, he is quite handsome, 1.8 meters tall, and has a good physique. It's just a pity that he has too gentle a temper. I like someone a bit more roguish, like Mr. Jiang, but his aura can't be as intimidating as Mr. Jiang's."

Su Yan: "..." Being your man must be tough.

Before she could say anything, her phone, which was sitting on the bedside table, suddenly vibrated.

It's Wennai's phone.

Wen Nai glanced at the caller ID, a guilty look crossing her face, and muttered, "Sure enough, you can't talk about people behind their backs."

Su Yan laughed, "It's not your fiancé, is it?"

"It really is him," Wen Nai said, having already answered the phone.

"Hey, aren't you in a meeting right now? How come you have time to call me?"

"You've been in Country A for several days now and haven't contacted me. Am I not allowed to contact you first?" The man's gentle voice carried a hint of dissatisfaction.

Feeling guilty, Wen Nai coughed lightly and said, "I was just so busy I forgot. Norris didn't remind me either."

Seeing her expression of being like a mouse before a cat, Su Yan couldn't help but lean closer to listen to what she was saying.

The man asked meaningfully, "Really? How have you been feeling these past few days? Has the traditional Chinese medicine treatment been effective?"

"Not yet. Mr. Jue is out of town on business, so it's his disciple who is treating me."

"So, will you live in the house I bought for you?"

"No, I'm staying at my friend's house."

There was a few seconds of silence before a voice came from the other end, "It's not good to live in someone else's house for a long time. You should go back to your place."

Wen Nai retorted directly, "There's nothing wrong with it. It's my best friend's house, and she'd love for me to stay here with her for the rest of my life."

Upon hearing this, Su Yan suddenly felt a sense of oppressive tension.

Her lips twitched. Could it be that Nana's fiancé was jealous?

The man said, "How come I didn't know you had good friends in Country A? You don't go to Country A often, so be careful not to be deceived."

Wen Nai pouted, "You're overthinking it. You'd lie to me, but she wouldn't."

"You trust your friends from Country A so much?" the man asked in surprise.

"Of course, I'm not a child. Do you think I can't tell the difference between good and bad?"

Su Yan finally realized that Nai Nai really didn't like her fiancé at all; even her tone of voice was so harsh.

Wennai's fiancé was used to her unreasonable behavior and wasn't angry at all. Instead, he calmly said, "I was overthinking it."

Is there anything else?

"Yes. I'm going to country A on a business trip in a couple of days. Can you give me an address? I'll come find you there."

Although Wen Nai was reluctant for him to come, she didn't want things to get too ugly, so she told him the address of the courtyard house and hung up the phone.

Holding her phone, she wondered, "He usually only comes to Country A on business at the end of the year, so why did he come at the beginning of this year?"

Su Yan whispered in her ear, teasingly asking, "Is it possible that he came specifically for you?"

“Impossible!” Wennai retorted without hesitation: “He’s so busy every day that he’s constantly on the go. When we were in the US, we only met once a week and talked on the phone twice. He wasn’t that bored.”

"Nana, I can understand if you don't like him, but why do you seem to hate him?"

Wen Nai hesitated slightly before speaking, "Me... do I?"

Su Yan nodded. "Yes, and it's very obvious. And you talk to him like a mouse seeing a cat. Is your fiancé really that scary?"

Wen Nai said irritably, "I think he's meddling too much and asking too many questions. Every time he calls, he tries to interfere. What's the difference between him and my second father?"

"But Nana, think about it from another angle. He's your fiancé. If he ignores you, then he doesn't like you. Is it possible that his meddling is actually out of concern for you?"

Su Yan could tell that Wen Nai was against her parents arranging her marriage against her will, so she also disliked her fiancé and didn't want to get to know him.

"Actually, your fiancé is a perfect match for you, both in terms of family background and the disasters you've faced. If you were to look for someone else, they would know your identity and would first be interested in your wealth, and only secondly in you as a person."

What's frightening is that the other person always pretends to be gentle, considerate, and loving in front of you, but if anything happens to you, they'll just run off with your money and won't stand by you through thick and thin.

Wen Nai was extremely annoyed and complained, "Ayan, you've never even met him, so why are you speaking up for him?"

Su Yan smiled and said, "I'm not speaking up for him, I'm helping you analyze the pros and cons. If you've really gotten to know your fiancé, if he's not good, then you have a reason to break off the engagement. If he's good, you won't miss out on a good man. Why not give him a chance and see if he's genuinely gentle to you or just pretending?"

Wen Nai stroked her chin and thought for a moment, "Alright then, I'll try to accept him."
