Chapter 104 Liu Qing's Persuasion

Xiao Jian lowered his head and silently allowed the staff to escort him to Xiao Weiguo.

His eyes were fixed on the ground, never looking at Xiao Weiguo.

Xiao Weiguo looked at his younger brother, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He didn't know what to say for a moment.

Those around them knew this was a long-awaited reunion for the brothers, and none of them made a sound to disturb them.

After a long silence, Xiao Weiguo finally asked.

"Xiao Jian, are you still blaming your older brother?"

Xiao Jian finally raised his head and looked at Xiao Weiguo.

His eyes were incredibly complex, containing the helplessness and grievance of being captured, the weariness of enduring more than a year of suffering, and the hostility that Xiao Weiguo was once so familiar with, but without a trace of joy after the reunion. This caused Xiao Weiguo a pang of pain in his heart.

Xiao Jian let out a low hum, then quickly turned his head away, no longer looking at Xiao Weiguo.

Ever since he ran away, he had harbored constant hatred for his elder brother. He just never imagined that their reunion would be under such circumstances.

Being inexplicably arrested and imprisoned, he was incredibly panicked at that moment, especially for a teenager.

When questioned, he tried his best to defend himself, but as long as the person involved doesn't come forward to clarify, he can't explain it clearly with just his words.

The first person he saw after he came out was Xiao Weiguo. Although he didn't want to believe it, he was sure that his older brother had saved him.

Under normal circumstances, he could loudly question Xiao Weiguo and ask him if he had forgotten everything that happened in the past.

Has he ever regretted how he treated his younger siblings?

However, now that Xiao Weiguo has just pulled him out of danger, he finds it difficult to say these words.

His emotions were written all over his face, suppressed in his heart, but he couldn't vent them in this situation.

Looking at his younger brother, who still had that stubborn look, Xiao Weiguo couldn't help but smile bitterly.

"Xiao Jian, I know you hate me. I was a scoundrel before, it was all my fault, I don't blame you. But things are different now, I've changed. I've made a lot of money now, and I will definitely take good care of you. Come back with me, okay?"

Now, Xiao Weiguo wishes he could tear his heart out and show it to his younger brother. He truly knows he was wrong and is doing everything he can to make amends. He only hopes to gain his younger siblings' forgiveness and for the family to be together forever.

However, Xiao Jian heard his words and turned to look at him.

His eyes remained icy, as if the person standing before him was not his own elder brother, but a complete stranger.

"No matter how much money you make, what does it have to do with me? I won't go."

"Xiao Jian..."

Xiao Weiguo stepped forward, trying to grab his shoulder, but Xiao Jian stepped back and dodged him.

Xiao Weiguo's hand froze in mid-air.

At that moment, even with decades of life experience, he didn't know what to say.

"Xiao Jian."

At this moment, Liu Qing called out softly. He slowly walked out from behind the crowd.

"Maybe we should go back."

All Liu Qing saw and heard today was Xiao Jian's suffering.

The brotherhood he had always upheld has finally begun to waver.

Xiao Weiguo is living a life that he knows all too well, being by his side every day. But what about his brother Xiao Jian? What kind of life is he living?

Was the loyalty I upheld truly for Xiao Jian's benefit?

"Liu Qing, did you tell him my address?"

Xiao Jian suddenly asked a question.

"I......"

Liu Qing opened her mouth, but no words came out.

“It wasn’t him. I guessed you would write to Liu Qing’s school and intercepted your address at the school gate.”

Xiao Weiguo had always been reluctant to use overly aggressive methods against Liu Qing because he knew Liu Qing genuinely considered his younger brother a friend. Liu Qing's subsequent actions were merely to save face for his friend.

Xiao Weiguo, who has also come from their age, understands this very well.

Therefore, he preferred to use a gentler approach, even if it meant finding his brother later, rather than forcibly destroying the trust between Liu Qing and Xiao Jian.

"Ha, despicable."

Xiao Jian sneered and made a sarcastic remark about Xiao Weiguo.

Xiao Weiguo's expression froze.

Uh, was this really despicable? Xiao Jian's prejudice against him was just too deep.

At this moment, Liu Qing gritted her teeth, as if she had made a decision.

"Xiao Jian, it wasn't him who intercepted the letter; I deliberately leaked it to him."

Xiao Weiguo was stunned. He didn't expect Liu Qing to say such a thing. He had clearly obtained the address from him through special means, so why should he take responsibility?

Xiao Jian suddenly turned around to face Liu Qing. His face was flushed, and his eyes were filled with anger.

"Why?"

He roared at Liu Qing.

"Liu Qing, I've always considered you my best friend since we were kids. Why did you betray me? Didn't you say you'd never tell anyone my whereabouts unless I agreed?"

This time, Liu Qing did not back down; instead, she stepped forward and straightened her body.

"You ask me why? Then I'll tell you why."

Liu Qing took another step forward and stood opposite Xiao Jian.

“People change. The good-for-nothing you used to see is no longer a good-for-nothing. Although I don’t know whether what he did was good or bad, I trust my dad and my sister. My sister is devoted to him, and my dad is willing to work with him, which means he’s doing the right thing.”

Then, Liu Qing pointed at Xiao Weiguo.
