Chapter 120 Sister Lin

As soon as the words were spoken, two people walked in one after the other.

The man in front looked to be in his forties, tall, and wearing a crisp police uniform, but without a hat. His short, neat hair made him look very energetic.

Following behind him was a young man who looked to be in his early twenties. He was dressed in a fashionable denim outfit, with his two thumbs in his pockets. His face was fair and clean, and his eyes were arrogant, giving him an unruly appearance.

"Hey, Dad, you have guests? What are you eating? It smells so good."

When the middle-aged man who came in first put down what he was carrying, he smiled and said to Old Bai.

Bai Zhenxuan slammed his chopsticks on the table with a loud bang.

"Are you two dogs? You have such sharp noses. I was just getting a nice meal here, and you two showed up before I even touched my chopsticks. Let me tell you, there's no food for you today. If you want to eat, bring your own."

Before the middle-aged man could speak, the young man behind him spotted Feng Wanlin, his eyes lit up, and he rushed over in a few steps.

"Sister Lin, you're here! Why didn't you let me know? I would have come to keep you company sooner."

When Xiao Weiguo saw the stranger arrive, he was about to stand up and greet him, but the young man's address of "Sister Lin" almost made him laugh.

Are you thinking of yourself as Brother Baoyu?

Perhaps because they were already familiar with each other, Feng Wanlin didn't react much to the term "Sister Lin," and simply stood up and smiled.

"Brother Ziyu, let me introduce you. This is Xiao Weiguo, my fellow townsman and also my boss."

Then she introduced Xiao Weiguo to her.

"Wei Guo, this is Uncle Bai Shaoxiong, the Director of the Provincial Public Security Department, and this is Bai Ziyu, Grandpa Bai's beloved grandson."

Wow, it really is a jade! No wonder Lin-meimei (younger sister Lin) calls it so naturally.

Thinking this to myself, I stood up and smiled without making a sound.

"Hello Uncle Bai, hello Brother Ziyu, my name is Xiao Weiguo, nice to meet you."

Bai Shaoxiong gave Xiao Weiguo a polite smile.

"Hello."

Then he took the things he had brought and opened them one by one, placing them on the table.

“Dad, I knew you wouldn’t have any food for us here, so I specially bought your favorite roasted donkey meat and braised chicken on the way. Look, I also brought you a bottle of good wine. I’ve kept it for a long time and haven’t been willing to drink it. I’m just bringing it as a special gift for you.”

As he spoke, he took out a bottle of Moutai and showed it to the old man.

Xiao Weiguo recognized the liquor immediately upon seeing it: it was a bottle of Moutai with an iron cap, produced in 1985. While its current market price is around 128 yuan per bottle, decades later, it would fetch between 35,000 and 50,000 yuan per bottle. It is a liquor with high collectible value.

The old man seemed to calm down after seeing the wine he took out.

He had no other hobbies in his life except playing chess and drinking a little wine when he had free time.

Bai Ziyu hesitantly moved towards Feng Wanlin, wanting to sit next to her, but as he passed Bai Shaoxiong, he was kicked in the buttock by his father.

"Don't you have any common sense? Hurry up and go find some cups and chopsticks."

Bai Ziyu had no choice but to turn around and go to the kitchen, and soon returned with two pairs of chopsticks and several cups.

Taking advantage of the situation, he sat down next to Feng Wanlin, placed a glass in front of each person, unscrewed the bottle in his father's hand, and poured a full glass for everyone. Even Feng Wanlin next to him was no exception.

Everyone raised their glasses and drank a cup together.

Then, Xiao Weiguo stopped drinking, saying he had to drive later.

After all, it's my first time visiting someone's home, and it wouldn't be good if I made a fool of myself.

Besides, he really had to drive a long way back, and safety was also very important. These were all good habits he had developed in his previous life.

Seeing his condition, the others stopped trying to persuade him. The dishes on the table weren't lavish, but they were delicious and visually appealing. Everyone praised Xiao Weiguo's cooking skills, but lost interest in the cooked food that Bai Shaoxiong had bought.

Bai Ziyu and Feng Wanlin seemed to know each other very well. They were exchanging playful banter and winking at each other, looking just like a brother and sister.

Xiao Weiguo and Bai Ziyu sat on either side of Feng Wanlin, and Xiao Weiguo could hear most of what they were saying clearly.

"Hey, Lin, I heard that Lu Yuqiang has been harassing you again lately. Do you want me to find a few people to teach him a lesson?"

Upon hearing this, Feng Wanlin involuntarily glanced at Xiao Weiguo and nudged Bai Ziyu with her elbow.

"Brother Ziyu, what nonsense are you talking about? Why bother with someone like Lu Yuqiang? Don't cause any more trouble for Uncle Bai."

Xiao Weiguo lowered his head and ate his food, pretending that he hadn't heard anything.

Bai Ziyu said, completely unconcerned.

"I can't stand people like that. What kind of trash are they? Do they really think they're the little tyrants of Jiaonan? If they ever mess with me, I'll teach them a lesson they won't forget."

Although his voice wasn't loud, Bai Shaoxiong, who was sitting opposite him, still heard him.

Bai Shaoxiong glared at his son.

"You're still criticizing others? At least they have a class to attend. What about you? You can't study, you skip classes, and all you do is cause trouble for me. If you keep going like this, you'll be ruined."

Bai Ziyu shrank back in fear after being scolded by his father.

But he was still muttering resentfully.

"Is it that I don't want to do anything? It's just that none of you support what I want to do. What can I do if I'm not idle?"

Enraged, Bai Shaoxiong grabbed his chopsticks and threw them at the person.

"You bastard, what's the point of you? You didn't even graduate high school, and you insist on getting involved in electronic communication equipment. Telephones are going to be common now, what good is that crappy pager you're making?"
