Chapter 159 Report

Hu Haidong frowned slightly upon hearing this. He didn't understand why Xiao Weiguo was being so petty.

"Chairman Xiao, if I may say something I shouldn't, isn't the matter already over? With your status, why bother with such a nobody?"

Xiao Weiguo chuckled, sat up straight, and said coldly.

"It's over? He's over it, but I'm not. Do you know why he changed his story and admitted that he forgot about the money?"

“It was me who spent 100,000 yuan to make him change his mind. If Xiao Jian didn’t have a brother like me who would give him 100,000 yuan, he would still be locked up in there now.”

After hearing what he said, Hu Haidong was shocked.

It turns out things weren't that simple. No wonder he felt that Mr. Zhang's words were a bit strange from the beginning.

From the perspective of a veteran criminal investigator, even if most people later discover that they were wrong, they wouldn't easily admit it in order to avoid responsibility.

As long as you don't say anything, no one will know about this.

However, this matter cannot be resolved by mere words. If Zhang Jinliang denies it to the death, there's nothing that can be done about it.

"Chairman Xiao, if you put it that way, this person has indeed gone too far. Both morally and logically, he shouldn't be let off the hook. However, what evidence do you have to prove he took your money?"

Xiao Weiguo smiled slightly. When he gave Zhang Jinliang this money, he had already planned to deal with him. How could he not leave evidence?

He took a slip of paper out of his bag and handed it to Hu Haidong.

"Take a look at this."

Hu Haidong took it and saw that it was a receipt.

It was a receipt for 100,000 yuan that Zhang Jinliang had given to Xiao Weiguo, and it had his signature and fingerprint on it.

"Alright then, as long as we have this, and you can personally testify, this Zhang Jinliang is definitely not good."

This note not only proves that Zhang Jinliang extorted money, but also that he intentionally framed Xiao Jian.

As long as you report him to the local public security bureau, he won't be able to escape any of these charges.

"Since Chairman Xiao has made up his mind, let's not delay. I'll accompany Chairman Xiao on this trip now."

Hu Haidong returned the note to Xiao Weiguo, picked up his hat from the table, put it on, and stood up. He and Xiao Weiguo walked out of the Special Brigade's office compound.

They got directly into Xiao Weiguo's car and drove towards Daye Town.

Jiao Bai had already traveled this road several times and was quite familiar with it. In just over an hour, they arrived at the courtyard of the Daye Town Police Station.

Hu Haidong knew the people inside and led Xiao Weiguo and Jiao Bai inside.

They approached the director, Xiao Weiguo, who directly presented evidence and filed a formal complaint against Liu Jinliang, the director of the Daye Hengze Textile Factory.

There are a total of three charges.

First, extortion, demanding huge sums of money from the victims.

Second, false accusation, fabricating a crime scene to falsely accuse others of theft.

Third, illegal use of child labor. The factory had been forcing two minors, Xiao Jian and Gao Hu, both under the age of eighteen, to work in the factory for an extended period.

Regarding this matter, Xiao Weiguo has the joint testimony of Xiao Jian and Gao Hu, which he has compiled into a written document.

Xiao Weiguo's evidence is conclusive, leaving no room for the public security authorities to doubt it.

The director immediately issued a summons and sent someone to the textile factory to summon Zhang Jinliang.

Zhang Jinliang is currently at home with his daughter, preparing to have lunch.

He has been having a very pleasant time lately.

The 100,000 yuan he got from Xiao Weiguo was equivalent to two years' worth of net income for his small factory.

He even felt a little regretful; if he had known earlier that Xiao Jian had such an older brother, he would have asked for more. Judging from the way the other party seemed, he wouldn't have hesitated to add another 100,000.

His daughter, Zhang Huihui, is seventeen years old and in her second year of high school, attending school in the town.

Whenever Zhang Jinliang has free time, he will cook something delicious and invite his daughter home for dinner.

He doesn't care much about anyone else, except for his daughter.

Zhang Jinliang tries his best to satisfy his daughter's every whim, whether it's food, drink, clothing, or other necessities.

Right now, Zhang Jinliang is busy in the kitchen, humming a little tune. Zhang Huihui is sitting in the main room, engrossed in reading a novel.

The door was pushed open with a bang, and a series of chaotic and hurried footsteps followed.

Zhang Jinliang hurriedly put down what he was doing, not even having time to turn off the gas stove, and rushed out to check.

Several police officers rushed in, and one of them, with a serious expression, said to Zhang Jinliang.

"Zhang Jinliang, right? Someone has reported you for extortion, framing others, and illegally using child labor. Please come with us now to cooperate with our investigation."

After saying that, several people came up and, without saying a word, grabbed Zhang Jinliang and walked him out.

Zhang Jinliang was completely stunned. Wasn't this a bolt from the blue? Who the hell reported me?

A figure suddenly flashed through his mind.

Could it be Xiao Jian's older brother, the young man named Xiao Weiguo?

Before he could think any further, several police officers had already grabbed him and shoved him into a jeep.

Zhang Huihui had already run out of the main room and witnessed everything. The sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl was terrified.

It kept calling out.

"What are you doing? Let go of my dad!"

They chased after him all the way out.

However, the police jeep outside had already sped away, leaving everyone else in the dust.

Zhang Huihui was so anxious that she didn't know what to do. She went back into the yard, pushed her bicycle, and followed the police station.

She knew she couldn't help, but at the very least, she wanted to know what her father had done and whether he would be back soon.
