Chapter 191 Preparing for the Wedding

Time flies, and summer vacation is almost over.

Even in August, the weather remains hot and dry.

This year's late summer heat seems particularly intense, with the entire Jiaonan region still experiencing sweltering conditions.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the engineering company, Xiao Weiguo's villa was finally completed. In order to please him, the chairman, the engineering company even did the interior decoration for him. He just needed to buy the furniture and move in.

After the inspection was completed, Xiao Weiguo paid the remaining balance to the other party.

These days, construction work is really cheap. Even with extra materials, this huge villa only cost the other party a little over 300,000 yuan. That includes the renovations.

Of course, there must be some good intention behind this.

Xiao Weiguo didn't need to point this out; he just needed to keep it to himself.

Xiao Weiguo's injuries had long since healed, and he resumed his life of traveling around.

I've been to the provincial capital twice. The electronics factory project there has entered the formal construction phase. According to Xiao Weiguo's wishes, the company he's using is the XX Railway XX Bureau Construction Engineering Company.

Returning the favor, Xiao Weiguo wasn't the kind of person who didn't understand. Besides, they were all acquaintances, so he felt at ease using them in all aspects.

In just over two months, thanks to Panlong Apparel's good reputation and smooth sales channels, several specialty stores in first-tier cities have begun to expand to lower-tier cities.

Xiao Weiguo's goal of covering the entire country is getting closer and closer.

Back in Xiaotun, Xiao Weiguo had been having Xiao Jian keep an eye on the expedition team's progress. According to information gathered by Hu Zi and Xiao Jian, the expedition was nearing its end.

Although the tomb was not small, it was a solitary tomb with no surrounding cemeteries. Furthermore, it was built hastily during a time of war, so everything was kept simple and excavation was not difficult.

The expedition team should be leaving in about half a month to a month at most.

Then, the work at the textile factory over there can be put on the agenda.

With only a dozen days left before the start of the semester, Xiao Weiguo and Liu Erzhu discussed it and, after obtaining the consent of Liu Ye and her family, decided to take advantage of this time to hold the wedding.

So, at a command, everyone got to work.

Xiao Weiguo first made a list of the furniture he needed for his home, and then went directly to a large furniture company in the provincial capital to pick up several truckloads of furniture and appliances.

The villa has three floors and dozens of rooms of various sizes. Xiao Weiguo decided to use the third floor as his wedding room and distribute the rest to his family members. Whoever likes a room can choose whichever one they like. There is plenty of space, so they will no longer have to worry about not having enough rooms.

There is also a small courtyard in front of the villa, where a special area is set aside for the grandmother and several girls to grow flowers and plants. There is a rockery in the middle, surrounded by a small pond, and various ornamental flowers and trees are planted around the courtyard wall.

The entire courtyard was decorated in a very tasteful manner, just as Xiao Weiguo had envisioned.

After all the rooms were furnished, Xiao Weiguo and his family moved from the residential building.

The two little ones, Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue, live with their grandmother on the first floor so it's convenient for them to move around.

There was a special room for Aunt Jiang, and the environment inside was no worse than the other rooms. Xiao Weiguo wouldn't be picky about her in this regard.

Xiao Jian, Hu Zi, and Xiao Shanshan, who had been accompanying Zhang Huihui, also came to help, along with Huihui.

This is the first major event in the lives of all the siblings in their family, and none of them want to miss it.

The wedding date is set for August 26th, which is about ten days from now.

Led by the grandmother, the family began to get busy, and even Liu Changhe and Wang Xiuhong, who were very busy with work, were often conscripted.

Xiao Weiguo was basically in charge of procurement. Whenever someone thought of something missing, his task was to bring it back from all over the country.

According to custom, the bride cannot live at the groom's house before the wedding. In the past, this was because they lived close by for school, so there was no other way. But now that the wedding day is approaching, these customs can no longer be ignored.

Liu Ye followed her mother, Wang Guirong, busy every day making quilts, new shoes, and so on.

According to Xiao Weiguo, there's no need to bother with all this. With money in hand, there's nothing you can't buy, so why bother?

But the old lady and Wang Guirong kicked them out together.

They don't understand anything, yet they're just giving orders.

To be honest, getting married is a very complicated affair in the North. Luckily, we have an old lady in the family, otherwise, my siblings and I would have been completely overwhelmed.

There were just too many details to consider, and Xiao Weiguo got a headache just listening to it. So he simply stayed to the side and didn't say anything. If he needed anything, he would just let him know and they would buy it for him.

Liu Qing's brother-in-law was quite unceremonious, arriving early and reserving a room on the second floor next to Xiao Jian and Hu Zi.

Xiao Jian originally didn't want the house here; he planned to go back and take care of his own things as soon as his older brother's wedding was over.

However, Xiao Weiguo insisted that everyone should have their own room, even if they didn't live there.

In his heart, the meaning of home is that even if people are not by each other's side, when they want to reunite, they should not be inconvenienced by the place of residence.

You can live there, but you can't live without it.

Helpless, Xiao Jian and Hu Zi each randomly chose a room on the second floor. There was plenty of room anyway, so it wouldn't make a difference if they both took their place.

Xiao Shanshan and Zhang Huihui live across from each other. After spending so much time together, the two are practically inseparable.

When they were in Xiaotun, they shared a bed and ate from the same pot. They were also close in age, so they wouldn't hide anything from each other.
