Jiao Bai understood that this guy had far more survival experience than he did, and at this moment, he really needed to listen to his opinion.
Early in the morning, Jiao Bai originally planned to take Yaji back by force.
Yaji laughed at him then.
In this deep mountain forest, if you get lost, the best thing to do is not to wander around aimlessly, but to stay put, find a relatively safe place, and wait for rescue.
Because you have no idea which direction to go, if you go in the wrong direction and go deeper and deeper, what awaits you is a dead end, and no matter how good your skills are, it will be all for nothing.
Jiao Bai had no experience surviving in such a place, while Ya Ji had lived in such a place since childhood and had served as a soldier, so he was extremely familiar with it.
Knowing how to deal with dangers in the jungle has become one of his innate skills.
Jiao Bai listened to his words and felt that they made sense, so he found a sheltered cliff, sat down quietly, and waited for rescue from outside.
He tracked Yaji away, and Hu Haidong and the others knew this. They wouldn't ignore him if he didn't return after a while, so Jiao Bai wasn't too worried, believing they would find their way back sooner or later.
They waited all day, but no one appeared. Just when the two were feeling unbearably hungry, misfortune struck again when several wolves appeared not far from the cliff where they were staying.
Although Jiao Bai had never seen this thing before, he had always heard of its great reputation.
I know this thing is known for its ferocity and cunning.
So he quickly found a crevice in the rocks and stuffed Yaji inside, then stood guard at the foot of the cliff, focusing all his attention on dealing with the three wolves.
Unexpectedly, his actions were met with ridicule from Yaji.
Jiao Bai knew that this guy was experienced in the forest, and that he must have done something wrong to be looked down upon by him.
"Will you talk or not? If you don't, I'll get out of the way and feed you to the wolves first."
Although he wasn't sure about the wolves' fighting strength, Xiao Bai was confident that he could escape unscathed on his own.
At that point, Yaji only had one path left: to be devoured by wolves. What's there to be proud of?
Unexpectedly, Yaji sneered.
"You think you can escape by feeding me to the wolves?"
"Wolves are always pack animals, and they come in large groups. These three wolves are just scouts looking for food. Do you know why they don't come closer and why they keep howling?"
Jiao Bai frowned, somewhat understanding what he meant.
Yaji continued.
"They stand there, neither moving nor getting closer, just to stall you and wait for the other wolves to arrive. These things are the most troublesome; they won't make a move unless they're absolutely certain of success. But once they do, it's a fight to the death."
"Haha, just you wait. It won't be long before a large pack of wolves arrives. No matter how good your skills are, can you outrun wolves in the mountains?"
Damn, judging from what this guy said, it seems like I have no chance of survival tonight. I'm already like a wolf pack's meal.
Jiao Bai squinted at the smug Yaji and let out a cold snort.
"So you're saying neither of us is getting away today? Fine, I'll just throw you over there and let the wolves eat you up."
As he spoke, Jiao Bai indeed took action, pulling Yaji out of the crevice in the rock and preparing to throw him in front of the wolves.
"Holy crap, wait, wait."
When Yaji saw that he acted so decisively, offering himself up to the wolves at the slightest disagreement, he was terrified.
He originally intended to scare Jiao Bai, but Jiao Bai didn't fall for it at all and simply pulled him out.
"Any last words?"
Jiao Bai continued walking, his eyes fixed on the wolves, approaching them step by step. Seeing Jiao Bai actually getting closer, the wolves' fur stood on end in alarm.
They bared their teeth, their green eyes fixed on Jiao Bai, and began to retreat step by step.
Clearly, they don't want to fight Jiao Bai to the death right now.
As Yaji said, they will not act rashly unless they are absolutely certain of victory.
"Stop, stop, stop! Holy crap, I have a way, neither of us has to die."
Yaji struggled desperately, twisting his body, but he was bound too tightly and could not break free at all.
Hearing him say that, Jiao Bai stopped in his tracks.
"How shameless! Why didn't you say so earlier if you had a solution?"
After saying that, she picked him up again and threw him down the cliff.
"Speak quickly."
Yaji was thrown to the ground, grimacing as he rolled over.
"There are solutions, it just depends on whether you can do them."
"Stop dawdling and tell me."
Jiao Bai glared at him again, as if about to kick him.
Yaji knew that Jiao Bai would beat him up without any mercy, so he quickly said...
"You need to light a lot of fires around us before the large pack of wolves arrives. Wolves aren't afraid of anything except light and heat. Open flames will keep them away. That way, we'll be safe at least until the fire goes out."
Why didn't you say so earlier?
Jiao Bai kicked him hard as he spoke, and then began to grope Yaji's body.
He doesn't smoke and never carries a lighter or matches with him.
But he remembered that Yaji smoked and should have had something to start a fire.
Unexpectedly, after searching him thoroughly, all he found was a dagger in his boot and half a pack of cigarettes in his pocket, but no lighter or anything else.
"You fucking have a cigarette but no light?"
Jiao Bai glared at Yaji, held up a cigarette in front of him, and asked.
Yaji then remembered that last night, he had shown off by throwing his lighter into the woodpile to start a fire. Who the hell would have thought it would come in handy now?
