Xiao Weiguo didn't have much to pack; there was no need to bring the dilapidated furniture.
Wearing her best clothes, Xiao Shanshan was a little reluctant to give up the remaining tattered clothes, but under Xiao Weiguo's persuasion, she had no choice but to do so.
Living in the city from now on, I certainly can't wear patched-up clothes every day like I did in the village.

Xiao Shanshan sat on the back of Liu Ye's bicycle.

"Set off!"
With Xiao Weiguo's command, two bicycles, carrying the family's hopes and their longing for city life, headed towards the county town.
As they walked through several streets, Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue would occasionally point to the buildings and cars on both sides and cheer excitedly.
In their hearts, from this moment on, they also belong to this small town. Every brick, every tile, every blade of grass in this town will now be connected to them, and they will be a part of it.
Upon arriving at the courtyard, Xiao Weiguo opened the imposing gate, and the neat courtyard immediately caught the eyes of his brothers.

After putting down his bicycle, Xiao Weiguo led a few people around the various rooms.
The main hall has four rooms, with the living room in the middle. Two rows of sofas are placed against the wall, and there are coffee tables and long tables in the middle. They are high-end furniture that you can't usually see.
Xiao Weiguo reserved the bedroom on the west side for himself.
Xiao Weiguo prepared one of the two rooms on the east side of the living room for Shanshan and the other for his second brother who had not yet returned.
Although he is not in front of you now, Xiao Weiguo cannot forget his existence.
"Is this room for my second brother?"
Xiao Shanshan glanced at her older brother, her eyes gleaming with a different kind of light.
Xiao Weiguo nodded.
"Trust me, brother. We'll find our second brother soon."
"You have any information about him?"
Xiao Shanshan still couldn't believe it. After Xiao Jian left, there was no news of him. She didn't know how a fourteen or fifteen-year-old boy was doing out there.
Xiao Weiguo gave Liu Ye a meaningful look.
"We should have a pretty good idea now. Don't worry, I'll find out soon."
Xiao Weiguo thought of Liu Qing. Through his observations over this period of time, he became increasingly certain that Liu Qing must know Xiao Jian's whereabouts. As long as he could find a way to get the kid to talk, everything would come to light.
Therefore, the best way to get Liu Qing to talk is to talk to Liu Ye.

She pounced on Xiao Shanshan and pinned her to the bed, writhing and squirming against her for a while.
"You brat, you're always making fun of me. I think this is the bed your brother is preparing for his future brother-in-law. You're such a bad girl, you need to find someone to discipline you properly."
Xiao Shanshan's body ached and went numb from being pinched, and she laughed so hard she could barely breathe. She couldn't stop begging for mercy.
"Sister-in-law, please have mercy! I promise I'll never do it again. From now on, you can live with me every day, and you won't have to move in after we get married, okay?"
These words provoked another fierce attack from Liu Ye, and the two of them played around on the bed.
Xiao Jiang, who was following behind Xiao Weiguo, looked at Xiao Yue.
"Little sister, they are not well-behaved at all. You must not be like them in the future, or you will never be able to get married."
Xiao Weiguo was amused by the two of them and reached out to pull them out of the main room.
Let the two girls make a ruckus inside; it'll be a good way to improve their relationship as sisters-in-law.
Arriving at the two western annex rooms, they were equally clean and tidy. Each room contained a small bed with brand-new bedding. A small desk was placed under the windowsill of each room.
"Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue, starting tomorrow you are students, you are big kids now, and you will have to sleep on your own from now on. You can't let your older sister coax you anymore, understand?"
The two children nodded emphatically together.
"Don't worry, big brother, we'll be good from now on, we'll sleep alone and won't let our sister coax us."
Xiao Weiguo patted their hair with satisfaction.
"You can each have your own room. Go in and have some fun."
After listening to their older brother, the two children cheered and ran into their room, touching and looking around. This brand-new home brought them so many new and exciting experiences.
