Chapter 332 Graveyard

In the southwest of Shangxian County, there lies a long-abandoned cemetery.

It sits quietly in a low-lying hill, seemingly isolated from the world.

It is said that this cemetery was originally the ancestral gravesite of a village near Shang County.

However, with the changing times and rapid economic development, the village was forced to relocate to another place due to the county's planning. As a result, this cemetery, which carried the memories and glory of our ancestors, gradually became a desolate grave, and no one came to take care of it for many years.

Entering this desolate cemetery, one can find several tall and solemn tombstones standing there.

Despite the erosion of wind and rain, these tombstones still stand stubbornly, as if silently telling the story of the family's past glory and honor.

Now, however, they are covered with a thick layer of dust from the years, making them look somewhat lonely and desolate.

The cemetery is surrounded by lush trees with intertwined branches and leaves, forming dense shade.

Sunlight filters through the gaps in the branches, casting dappled shadows on the ground, creating a hazy, dreamlike atmosphere.

The presence of graves scattered throughout the ground, with mounds of earth arranged in a haphazard manner, further enhanced the eerie and terrifying atmosphere.

For this reason, apart from a very few daring and curious individuals who occasionally venture into this area, most ordinary people hold this place in awe and avoid it from afar, fearing that they might accidentally come into contact with something unclean that could bring them bad luck and misfortune.

But who could have imagined it?

In the very center of that terrifying and intimidating place—a high mound of earth—many people were lying haphazardly!

These people squeezed into thick sleeping bags, huddled together tightly, as if that would protect them from the harsh cold outside.

Even in this frigid climate, you can sleep soundly and undisturbed as long as you tuck your head deep into your sleeping bag.

Looking around the cemetery, several people were vaguely hidden.

Judging from their location and alert posture, it was clear that the personnel responsible for guarding the perimeter were on guard duty.

Time slipped by unnoticed, and it was already close to noon. Warm sunlight filtered through the layers of branches, showering the sleeping bags like golden arrows.

Gradually, more and more people were awakened by the soft light, rubbing their sleepy eyes and opening them.

Just then, in the very center, a middle-aged man of unusually tall stature slowly sat up straight.

He was described as tall because even though he was just sitting there quietly, he was still a full half a head taller than the person next to him.

The middle-aged man was probably over thirty years old, and the years had left deep and shallow marks on his thin and narrow face.

What is particularly striking is the long scar running from his eyebrows to the corner of his mouth, resembling a grotesque centipede, which makes him look incredibly terrifying.

The man had just woken up and immediately looked around alertly.

After confirming that there was nothing unusual in the surroundings, his sharp, hawk-like gaze finally settled on a young man standing next to him.

The young man had clearly been awake for some time and was now leaning against a cold, icy stone tablet, leisurely puffing on a cigarette.

His already small eyes narrowed into slits, and his face was so gloomy it looked like it could drip water.

The young man's brows were tightly furrowed, as if he were pondering something deeply. His facial expression kept changing, sometimes serious, sometimes relaxed, and occasionally, a chilling glint would flash in his eyes.

The tall, middle-aged man sitting on the ground narrowed his eyes slightly, slowly scanning the face of the person in front of him. His thick lips were slightly upturned, forming a half-smile that was hard to decipher.

"Hey, Wang Jun! This is the first time you've killed someone with your own hands, isn't it? Are you scared to death?"

As he heard those words, the thrilling scene that had unfolded the previous night involuntarily flashed through the tall, middle-aged man's mind.

On that pitch-black night, this young man named Wang Jun displayed unexpected courage and decisiveness.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and fired, instantly ending the lives of three innocent people in the gunshot.

Keep in mind, this was only the first time I had taken him on such an important mission!

Who would have thought that he, a complete novice, would be so audacious?

However, it was precisely because Wang Jun pulled the trigger too early that the entire operation plan went awry.

Although the operation did cause considerable impact and losses to the textile factory, the most critical target was not apprehended in time.

The reason was simple: Wang Jun's gunshots alerted numerous security personnel, forcing them to hastily flee the scene while being surrounded and pursued by the enemy.

When Wang Jun heard the tall, middle-aged man ask him a question, he first forcefully stubbed out the half-smoked cigarette at his feet, and then slowly raised his head and turned his gaze to the middle-aged man.

He slightly grinned, revealing a roguish smile, and then said to the middle-aged man.

"Brother Mo, you've really hit the nail on the head! To say I'm not scared at all would be pure nonsense."

When I fired the first shot, my palms were sweating profusely, and I was indeed a little hesitant and uncertain.

However, once you actually pull the trigger, the feeling is completely different; it's as if you suddenly become much bolder.

Later, when I took down those guys, I felt no fear or tension whatsoever; on the contrary, I felt incredibly excited, like I was on steroids!

After hearing Wang Jun's words, the middle-aged man called Lao Mo couldn't help but show a hint of appreciation on his face.

He gave Wang Jun a thumbs-up without any hesitation and praised him loudly.

"Well done, kid! I didn't expect you to be so ruthless and daring at such a young age! If you continue like this, you're sure to become a big shot in the future!"

"but......"

Old Mo changed the subject and continued.

"Remember this in the future, don't be so reckless. This time you almost ruined everything."

Wang Jun lowered his head and remained silent, seemingly lost in thought.

At that moment, another cold voice suddenly rang out.
