Xiao Weiguo had a nightmare.
In the dream, Liu Ye and Shan Shan were held tightly by Zheng Lao Hei, while He Shuang and several other thugs dragged them further and further away.
The two girls struggled desperately, turning back every now and then to reach out their hands to him.
"Brother, save me!"
"Weiguo, save me!"
They wept as they cast pleading glances at Xiao Weiguo.
"Shanshan, Liuye..."
Xiao Weiguo roared loudly, trying to save his sister and Liu Ye.
But an invisible force tightly bound his body, making it extremely difficult for him to even move a single step.
"You bastards, let them go."
Xiao Weiguo shouted desperately, trying to attract the attention of those people.
But they remained oblivious, their狰狞 faces contorted with rage as they laughed wildly.
Xiao Weiguo felt like he was about to explode. How could he stand by and watch two of his closest people be kidnapped?
"Come back, you bastards, come back here!"
Xiao Weiguo suddenly sat up, waves of sharp pain shooting through his body, almost causing him to faint again.
"Brother, you're awake."
A voice, trembling with sobs, reached my ears.
It was Shan Shan's voice.
Xiao Weiguo looked around blankly.
Familiar faces appeared before her eyes. The IV drip in her head was still flowing. She must have been taken to the hospital.
Liu Ye wiped away her tears and stood next to Shan Shan.
Seeing that both of them were there, Xiao Weiguo secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Child, how are you feeling?"
On the other side was Old Mrs. Liu, whose eyes were red.
She carefully held Xiao Weiguo's hand, her eyes red.
She had clearly been crying for a long time.
Xiao Weiguo looked around; he was covered in bandages. Even his head was wrapped in layers of gauze. He felt pain all over his body.
He tried to move his limbs and found that he was not seriously injured; they were probably just superficial wounds and no serious injuries to his bones or muscles.
"Grandma, I'm fine. Where are Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue?"
The family in the hospital ward was missing two of their young children.
"When I came, I entrusted them to your Uncle Shang because Grandma was worried about you. Those bastards are inhuman. Look what they did to my eldest grandson."
As the old woman spoke, tears welled up in her eyes again.
Xiao Weiguo hadn't expected those people to be so arrogant, daring to commit violence in broad daylight.
"Alright, Grandma, I'm fine now. Your eldest grandson is strong and healthy, he'll be fine in a day or two."
As he spoke, he forced a smile, trying to lighten the mood.
"You're still laughing? If someone hadn't called the joint defense team, who knows what kind of big trouble would have happened."
Liu Ye kept wiping her tears with her sleeve, but no matter how much she wiped, she couldn't stop them.
Just then, hurried footsteps echoed in the hallway.
The door to the ward was pushed open with a bang.
Liu Changhe's tall figure appeared outside the door, followed by two fully armed guards.
After such a big incident, the old lady had already asked Liu Ye to call her son.
Liu Changhe was on a mission when he received the message, so he only arrived now.
"Wei Guo, what's going on?"
Liu Changhe walked into the ward with a gloomy face and came to Xiao Weiguo's bedside.
"Uncle, it's nothing. I was just ambushed by a few thugs."
Seeing that Xiao Weiguo spoke casually and didn't seem to be in any trouble, Liu Changhe felt a little relieved.
"Don't worry, I will definitely investigate this matter thoroughly and give you an explanation."
Just as Xiao Weiguo was about to say thank you, Old Mrs. Liu, who was sitting on the other side of the bed, suddenly burst out.
"Investigate, investigate, investigate your mother's legs! My grandson was beaten like this in the street, what are you people doing?"
Liu Changhe smiled wryly. He wanted to say, "This isn't within our jurisdiction either; that's the business of the public security bureau and the joint defense team."
But the old lady was still wiping away tears, clearly still angry, and he dared not argue back.
He didn't say anything, which made the old lady even angrier.
She jumped up and down, pointing at his nose.
“You look all grown up, all armed and acting like a real man, but what good are you? You’re not even as good as a fire poker. My grandson got beaten up like this, and you didn’t say a word. You’re not even as good as a bandit. At least no one dares to bully a bandit.”
The old woman cursed herself, then couldn't help but cry.
“My poor grandson, a child no one cares for. It’s all my fault for being useless. I raised a son, but he’s no use either. No one stands up for my grandson, and he gets bullied by those bastards.”
Liu Changhe realized that every word he spoke, whether openly or subtly, was aimed at him.
If you don't show some attitude today, you can forget about having a good time in front of me in the future.
Liu Changhe suddenly stood up straight.
"Xiao Zhang!"
He shouted loudly at the door.
"arrive!"
Xiao Zhang stood at attention and appeared in front of him.
"Go back to the ministry immediately to gather manpower. Tonight, we will join forces with local departments to carry out a crackdown on organized crime."
"yes!"
Xiao Zhang agreed, turned around and ran out of the ward, with Liu Changhe following closely behind, accompanied by another guard.
"Uncle, there's no need."
Xiao Weiguo wanted to advise against it, saying that it was a bit too much to make a fuss in the middle of the night.
But Old Mrs. Liu pulled him up.
"No need for that. What if those bad guys run away tomorrow?"
"grandmother......"
Xiao Weiguo gave a wry smile.
That night, Gao Haibo, the county's public security chief, was dragged out of bed.
Before he could figure out what was going on, Liu Changhe slammed his pistol on the table.
