The two clasped hands again and then slowly sat down.
Xiao Weiguo smiled and continued.
"In that case, let's leave it at that for now. Brother Zhang, you must be tired from your journey. Go and get some rest first. We'll discuss the details with you after my people have finished drafting the work contract."
"I'll have to trouble you, Brother Zhang, to handle the many matters related to the second phase of the project in the future."
Zhang Fan's face lit up with joy, and he nodded repeatedly in agreement.
"Thank you for your kind words, Chairman Xiao! I will do my best to serve you from now on."
After saying this, the two looked at each other and laughed, their laughter hearty and cheerful.
Xiao Weiguo turned his head and shouted loudly.
"Secretary Fang!" The graceful and beautiful secretary, Fang Mei, came running in response.
Xiao Weiguo gave Fang Mei his instructions.
"Take Mr. Zhang to the guesthouse to rest, and tell him that he must be well taken care of in every way."
Fang Mei nodded slightly, gracefully extended her right hand in a gesture of invitation, and said softly.
"Mr. Zhang, please come with me."
Zhang Fan then stood up, bowed to Xiao Weiguo, and said with a smile.
"Thank you for your warm hospitality, Mr. Xiao. I will not bother you any longer."
After speaking, he turned around and followed Fang Mei out the door.
Xiao Weiguo and Xiao Baojun escorted Zhang Fan to the door, watching him walk away until his figure completely disappeared into the elevator before turning back into the house.
After settling back down, Xiao Weiguo lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and then turned his gaze to Xiao Baojun, who was sitting to the side.
Xiao Baojun knew very well that Xiao Weiguo had deliberately kept him behind for more than just a casual chat; there must be something important to discuss.
Therefore, he dared not delay and hurriedly asked.
"Chairman, why did you summon me back from Shenzhen in such a hurry? Is something extremely urgent happening?"
Xiao Weiguo took a deep drag of his cigarette and slowly exhaled the smoke, as if the wisp of smoke could carry away the troubles in his heart.
Then, he sighed heavily and answered in a solemn tone.
"Yes, it is indeed a crucial matter."
When Xiao Baojun saw Xiao Weiguo's serious expression, his heart skipped a beat, and an ominous premonition instantly surged into his mind.
But he still tried to remain calm and quickly replied, "Chairman Xiao, if there is anything you need to explain, please speak freely."

Xiao Baojun questioned emotionally, unable to understand how he had worked so hard for the company for so many years, fighting battles for the company and making numerous contributions, and finally managed to get to his current position as the director of the business department.
However, after just one trip to Shenzhen, I received such unbelievable news upon my return.
Seeing Xiao Baojun's face flushed red with anxiety and veins bulging on his forehead, Xiao Weiguo couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. But seeing the other's appearance, he knew he couldn't tease him any further.
Then he let out a hearty laugh.
"Haha, Baojun, look how anxious you are! What on earth are you thinking about?"
As he spoke, Xiao Weiguo stretched out his right hand and gently placed it on Xiao Baojun's shoulder, pressing down slightly to signal him to sit back down in the chair.
After Xiao Baojun was seated, Xiao Weiguo slowly spoke.
"Brother Baojun, don't be so nervous! I never said I was going to fire you. It's just that..."
At this point, Xiao Weiguo deliberately paused, keeping everyone in suspense. Then, he continued.
"However, you will indeed need to leave our company for a while."
After hearing Xiao Weiguo's words, Xiao Baojun was completely dumbfounded. He stared wide-eyed at Xiao Weiguo in disbelief, muttering to himself.
"They won't even let me stay at the company to work. What's the essential difference between that and firing me outright?"

At this moment, Xiao Baojun's voice became hoarse from anxiety.
Xiao Weiguo took a deep breath and slowly stood up from the sofa. He walked steadily toward the door.
