Chapter 45 Revolutionary Committee

The next day, everyone in the family was busy with their own things. After breakfast, the old lady went to take the two younger children to school.

Xiao Weiguo rode his bicycle straight to the garment factory.

After greeting the security guard, I arrived at Wang Xiuhong's office.

Wang Xiuhong was sitting behind her desk, lost in thought.

There was no progress on Xiao Weiguo's matter, so it was put on hold. She was afraid it would affect Xiao Weiguo's health, so she didn't dare tell him. She could only continue to delay.

She was only awakened when Xiao Weiguo knocked on the door.

"It's Wei Guo! You're much better now?"

She forced a smile and ushered Xiao Weiguo into her office to sit down.

Xiao Weiguo noticed that her expression was off, and he couldn't help but become suspicious.

"Auntie, what's wrong? Is something not going well?"

Logically, the conditions he offered were quite generous, and the higher-ups shouldn't have objected.

"Wei Guo, don't be anxious, let me explain slowly."

Wang Xiuhong poured Xiao Weiguo a glass of water, sat down in her seat, and said to Xiao Weiguo.

"All the previous procedures were completed, and everything was going very smoothly. But when it came to the time when the National Development and Reform Commission needed to sign off, something went wrong."

Xiao Weiguo felt a chill run down his spine. The National Development and Reform Commission was the final checkpoint in charge of such matters, and their decisions were the most crucial.

Without their approval, there's no point in even thinking about the contract; this is an insurmountable hurdle.

"Auntie, what's going on?"

He couldn't figure out where the problem was.

"The people over there said that they received a report from the public that you were not doing your job properly back then, that you were a typical thug and hooligan, and that you did not deserve to be a contractor. The state cannot entrust property to someone like you."

Wang Xiuhong told the truth that that's what the people there told her.

"A report from the public?"

Xiao Weiguo could guess who reported him even with his toes. Apart from Xiao Changsuo's family, no one would be so bored as to do that.

But what good does knowing do?

What the authorities want are the facts, regardless of their motives.

The fact is that Xiao Weiguo was indeed indecent in the past, a fact he cannot deny.

Xiao Weiguo never expected things to turn out this way. Now, he feels like killing that family.

But now is not the time to argue with them; we need to find a way to make amends.

The loan has been approved; all this hard work can't be wasted.

"Auntie, is there any other way?"

Wang Xiuhong shook her head. It's been several days already. If there were other ways, she wouldn't be so worried.

Xiao Weiguo lowered his head and pondered for a while, then looked up and said, "Auntie, why don't we go to the Reform Commission together and try again? Let's see if there's any chance of a turnaround."

Wang Xiuhong understood his feelings and nodded, saying, "The chances aren't great. If you want to go, I'll go with you."

Wang Xiuhong went out and greeted the other staff members, saying that she was going to the Reform Commission, after all, she was the factory director and she couldn't be unable to find someone at a critical time.

The two of them got on their bicycles and, led by Wang Xiuhong, headed straight for the Reform Commission.

The full name of the Reform Commission is Shangxian County Enterprise Reform Commission.

Led by several mid-level leaders in the county, the main responsibility for reviewing enterprise restructuring and the transformation of small and medium-sized state-owned enterprises into private or contract-based systems was to be undertaken.

Wang Xiuhong led Xiao Weiguo to the second floor of the office building, to the first office next to the corridor, which was labeled: Director's Office.

Wang Xiuhong stopped and quietly told Xiao Weiguo that the director's surname was Yu and his name was Yu Guosheng. She added that the man was difficult to talk to and advised Xiao Weiguo to be careful.

Xiao Weiguo nodded, and Wang Xiuhong stepped forward and knocked on the door.

"Enter!"

A lazy voice came from inside.

Wang Xiuhong pushed open the door, and Xiao Weiguo followed closely behind, going inside.

In the office, a short, stout man with a bald head was leaning back in his chair, drinking tea, with a newspaper in one hand.

"Director Yu, hello, I'm sorry to bother you again."

Wang Xiuhong smiled ingratiatingly and spoke respectfully to the director.

Yu Guosheng looked up, glanced at the two men, and said impatiently, "Why are you coming again? Didn't I tell you that Xiao Weiguo doesn't meet the requirements? It's no use for you to come a hundred more times."

After saying that, he lowered his head, blew on the tea leaves in his cup, and sipped the tea.

"Director Yu, I brought Xiao Weiguo with me this time, so he can explain it to you personally."

Yu Guosheng looked up again and glanced at Xiao Weiguo.

"You're Xiao Weiguo?"

Xiao Weiguo needed someone's help, so he nodded with a forced smile.

"Hello, Director, I am Xiao Weiguo."

Unexpectedly, upon hearing his name, the director slammed his teacup down on the table with a loud "thud," splashing the tea inside.

"Xiao Weiguo, do you know where you are? This is a government agency, a place you can just come to?"

Xiao Weiguo was stunned. How could I be allowed to come to a state agency?

He frowned and asked in a low voice, "Director Yu, what do you mean by that?"

Normally, when someone visits for the first time, they would at least be polite, and at the very least, they shouldn't be so rude. Has Director Yu lost his temper?

What he didn't know was that the director in front of him was Xiao Changsuo's eldest son and Xiao Feng's brother-in-law.

Xiao Feng's wife is his sister-in-law.

When Xiao Feng reported Xiao Weiguo, he told him about the feud between the two families. Xiao Weiguo immediately patted his chest and promised that he would definitely teach Xiao Weiguo a lesson and that Xiao Weiguo would have no chance of taking over the garment factory.

"Smack!"

Yu Guosheng slammed his hand on the table and stood up.

"What do you mean? Don't you understand? You're just a thug, a swindler who only knows how to cheat and swindle. You dare to come to a place like this? Aren't you afraid I'll have you arrested?"
