Chapter 6 Dear Younger Brothers and Sisters

Inside the main room, the two little ones huddled in the corner of the kang (a heated brick bed), trembling with fear.

Because it had just rained, the house was stuffy and hot, and there were many leaks, so the basins and jars used to catch the water were full of rainwater.

In his previous life, Xiao Weiguo would either beat or scold his two children. He himself would not eat his fill, so his two children would hardly have any food to eat.

If it weren't for Xiao Shanshan's care, it's hard to imagine whether these two younger siblings would have survived to this day.

Seeing that Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue didn't even have a decent set of clothes to wear, Xiao Weiguo felt even more guilty.

He wished he could slap himself a few times.

Was what I did in my previous life even human?

"Xiao Jiang, Xiao Yue, come to your brother and see what I bought for you?"

Xiao Weiguo's voice trembled slightly. This was the first time he had a formal conversation with the two children, and he had said what he had wanted to say since his previous life.

He took out the children's clothes and sandals he had bought for his two younger children one by one from the large plastic bag.

Of course, the things I bought for Xiao Shanshan were also included.

Colorful clothes covered half of the kang mat, each piece still exuding the unique scent of new clothes.

Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue exchanged a bewildered glance, but dared not move. Their two large, dark eyes simultaneously turned to Xiao Shanshan.

In this family, the only person they could trust was their second sister.

Seeing their indifference, Xiao Weiguo felt even more ashamed. Even if they were just two ignorant children, once they were traumatized, it was not something that could be erased with just a few words.

He had no choice but to turn to Xiao Shanshan for help, hoping his younger sister could lend him a hand at this critical moment.

Xiao Shanshan looked at him with a cold gaze, as if blaming him for all the things that had happened in the past, but she still stepped forward and stretched out her hands.

"Come here, sweeties, let me help you take a bath and put on your new clothes, okay?"

This seventeen-year-old rural girl has a kind heart. Her greatest wish is for her family to be harmonious, holding hands and weathering the storms together. She believes that no matter how difficult things get, life will be happy.

Even if there was only a sliver of hope, she wanted to give her brother a chance, a miracle of redemption.

What if it happens? That's her only hope.

Hearing their older sister's call, the two little ones rushed into her arms like lightning. As their older sister carried them outside, they still glanced at their older brother out of the corner of their eyes, worried.

Watching his younger sister carry the two little ones out of the room, Xiao Weiguo slapped himself hard across the face.

"You beast, Xiao Weiguo, you are simply a beast."

At this moment, tears could no longer be held back and streamed down my face.

Although his previous life was miserable, it must be said that he was still very strong. After all, it is difficult for an orphan to survive in this world without a strong soul.

This was the first time in his life, including his past and present lives, that Xiao Weiguo had ever shed tears, the first time he had ever cried.

For the sake of my regret, and for the sake of having a chance to make amends.

Shanshan, Xiaojiang, Xiaoyue, and my second brother Xiaojian who hated me his whole life, I will never let you suffer again in this life. I will use my whole life to make up for what I did wrong to you in the previous life.

I will make you the happiest people in the world.

Xiao Weiguo quietly wiped away his tears with the corner of his sleeve, and silently made a vow in his heart.

When Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue finished dressing in their new clothes and were led by Shan Shan to Xiao Weiguo, he was stunned once again.

He never imagined that his twin brother and sister would be so stunningly beautiful.

Yes, Xiao Weiguo could only describe this golden couple as stunning at this moment.

Due to family reasons, Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue rarely went out. Their skin was not tanned by the sun, and due to malnutrition, their skin had a slightly sickly pale appearance.

The younger brother, Xiao Jiang, has very delicate features, and his big, dark eyes are full of intelligence. The only flaw is his short, dog-chewed hair, which was cut by his younger sister, Xiao Shanshan, with scissors.

He kept shifting his body, seemingly unaccustomed to wearing a brand new set of clothes.

Xiao Yue's thick black hair was styled into two small buns on top of her head by her older sister. Her white teeth and red lips immediately reminded Xiao Weiguo of the little Nezha from a later TV series. She was so adorable.

"Xiao Jiang, Xiao Yue, can your brother hug you?"

He carefully extended his hands, trying to soften his expression and gaze, afraid of frightening the two children.

Xiao Jiang and Xiao Yue looked up at their sister, their eyes filled with hesitation.

Xiao Shanshan took their hands and led them forward, placing the two children in front of Xiao Weiguo.

Xiao Weiguo squatted down and hugged the two little ones tightly.

"I'm sorry, brother was not human before. I was wrong. Believe me, it will never happen again."

As he spoke, he couldn't hold back his tears and burst into tears.

People aren't afraid of doing things they'll regret; what they fear most is not having a chance to correct them. Some things, once done, are done forever.

In his previous life, he was like this, and he repented for his mistakes until his death.

He never expected to be reborn. Now, holding his two younger siblings tightly in his arms, one can imagine how excited he must be.

"Brother, don't cry!"

Xiao Yue stretched out her delicate white hand and carefully wiped away the tears on his face.

Xiao Weiguo nodded resentfully. A smile appeared on his tear-filled face.

He stood up, took the two younger children by the hand, and came to the front of the kang (a heated brick bed).

On the kang (heated brick bed) was a bag of peanut brittle candies that he had specially bought. These candies crumbled easily with a bite, were incredibly fragrant and crumbly, and were more popular with children of that era than milk candies.
