Chapter 96 Scheming Against Liu Qing

Liu Qing truly had a bitter pill to swallow.

Like other kids, he had a dream of becoming a martial arts hero since he was young. He could recite Li Bai's poem "The Knight-Errant" by heart from a very young age.

Zhao Ke wears a silk tassel, and Wu Gou (a type of hook) shines like frost and snow.

A silver saddle shines on a white horse, swift as a shooting star.

He can kill one person in ten steps and leave no trace for a thousand miles.

He left after accomplishing his task, concealing his identity and name.

......

This carefree and bold spirit was something he once longed for.

For a chivalrous person, the most important thing is loyalty.

Liu Qing always believed that as Xiao Jian's brother and friend, he should stand by Xiao Jian's side and one day stand up for him and avenge him.

However, things are now developing more and more out of his control.

Why doesn't that good-for-nothing just continue his aimless lifestyle? That way, he'll still have a chance when he grows up a bit more.

Now things are really messed up. That guy is getting more and more powerful. Not only has his sister fallen for him, but even his father has become his subordinate.

He wanted to raise his voice and shout, "Don't let bad people blind you! This world needs justice!"

But every time Liu Erzhu glared at him, he lost his confidence.

As for her older sister, Liu Ye, well, well, she's already been bewitched. There's no way to count on her.

Now look what's happened; even he himself has fallen into the tiger's den.

Despite his objections, everyone arranged for themselves to stay in the home of the scoundrel.

He had to watch his sister and him being all lovey-dovey every day, but there was nothing he could do. Especially that guy's sinister smile, which always gave him the creeps.

The scariest one was that guy named Jiao Bai who was always by his side.

One day he witnessed Jiao Bai casually pick up a pebble and shoot down a sparrow from a willow branch with a flick of his wrist.

He even suspected that Jiao Bai was a reclusive master who had come down from the mountain to cultivate.

Surrounded by such formidable enemies, Liu Qing had no choice but to keep a low profile. As the saying goes, a true man can bend and stretch.

Xiao Weiguo was actually paying attention to him every day.

This kid, like Liu Ye and Xiao Shanshan, goes to school, comes home, eats, and sleeps every day. Whenever she sees him, she tries to stay far away and avoids speaking to him if possible.

Xiao Weiguo was certain that he and Xiao Jian were in contact, but no matter what method he used, he simply wouldn't say where Xiao Jian was now.

According to Xiao Weiguo's analysis, given the current communication methods, there is only one way for them to contact each other: letters. He had also asked Liu Ye and Liu Erzhu about this.

They said they had indeed seen him receive some letters when he was at home before, but they hadn't asked where they came from.

This further confirmed Xiao Weiguo's idea; they had always relied on communication.

Now that Liu Ye is living at home, since she doesn't want him to know about this, she definitely won't send any more letters home.

Liu Qing can't go back to Xiaotun, and it's impossible for him to send letters there. He doesn't live in Liu Erzhu's apartment building either, so the possibility of him sending letters there is not high.

That leaves only the school as the only possible mailing address.

Xiao Weiguo asked Xiao Shanshan about the mail from their school. He explained that the mail was usually left at the gatehouse, where the old man would write the recipient's name on a small blackboard every day. Students or teachers could simply pick it up when they passed by on their way to or from school.

Hehe, isn't that easy?

After battling wits with this kid for so long, Xiao Weiguo has finally found a breakthrough.

So, every day when Xiao Weiguo went to and from get off work, and whenever he had free time, he would have Jiao Bai take him to the school gate.

As soon as Liu Qing's name appeared on the blackboard at the school gate, he would get the letter immediately.

If he contacts Xiao Jian, Xiao Jian's reply will definitely include his address. Then, wouldn't everything be solved?

His younger brother, Xiao Jian, whom he always worried about, is still working hard alongside Gao Hu in the primary processing ginning workshop of the cotton mill.

Dust filled the dilapidated workshop. The two people wore large, blackened masks over their mouths, and their hair and faces were covered in dust.

"Ring ring ring"

The bell finally rang, and the two straightened up, turned off the machine, and dragged their tired bodies to wash their faces haphazardly at the tap before heading to the cafeteria with their lunchboxes in their hands.

Lunch was provided in the cafeteria. Although the food was very ordinary, it was the easiest meal for the two of us to feel full during the day.

In the morning, they only get steamed buns and pickled vegetables, and it's a fixed amount. The two boys, who are still growing, are not getting enough to eat.

Dinner wasn't provided, so they had to fend for themselves when they got back. Their place didn't even have a kitchen; they just propped up a broken pot with a few broken bricks. Neither of them was very good at cooking, so they just threw whatever was available into the pot, cooked it, and that was it. You can imagine how bad it tasted.

Only at lunchtime, with unlimited steamed buns and a large bowl of vegetables for each person, was there some oil and fat, enough to fill their stomachs.

The two were walking along the road when they suddenly saw Zhang Huihui standing under a locust tree, holding a cloth bag that was bulging and full of something.

Zhang Huihui is seventeen years old this year. Because of her good family background, she has developed very well and is very beautiful, like a ripe apple.

Compared to her, Xiao Jian and Gao Hu, dressed in work clothes covered in dust and oil stains, looked like they belonged to a completely different social class.

Zhang Huihui seemed to be waiting for them. When she saw the two of them approaching, a beautiful smile appeared on her face.

"Brother Xiao Jian, Tiger."
