Chapter 158 The Thoughts of Wang Xingling and Her Daughter

"Qiaowa, is it because of Qian Ying that you don't like me?"

Cheng Ze followed Lu Siqiao out of the train waiting room and couldn't help but question, "There's nothing between us. She saved me, and now I'm taking care of her. That's all."

"Is that all?" Lu Siqiao raised her voice slightly, clearly disbelieving.

"Qiaowa, how do you want me to prove it before you'll believe me?" Cheng Ze asked anxiously.

Lu Siqiao sneered: "If you two weren't related, would she have chased after you back to China? Would she have brought gifts to your door and publicly declared herself your girlfriend?"

Indeed, she is better off alone.

“Cheng Ze, you saved my life, and I am very grateful to you,” she continued, “but who you marry or who you love is none of my business.”

Cheng Ze stared intently at her with deep eyes: "Is it really okay?" It turned out that it had all been his wishful thinking all along.

Seeing his expression turn sad, Lu Siqiao felt a pang of pity, but thinking of what she was about to do, she steeled her heart and said coldly, "Yes, it's just a brother-sister relationship. Don't worry, I will get along well with Qian Ying and treat her as a sister-in-law."

She spoke words against her will, ruthlessly shattering the dream she had woven over ten years.

Cheng Ze felt his mind go blank, and the tearing, suffocating feeling made his breathing rapid.

"Jova, thank you for your honesty."

Qian Ying came in from outside; it was unclear how long she had been eavesdropping on the conversation.

She instinctively reached for Cheng Ze's hand, and unlike before, this time, Cheng Ze did not refuse her.

This is a good omen.

Lu Siqiao watched the two of them huddled together, a cold smile creeping onto her lips.

She turned and left.

Qian Ying also called out to her, "Qiaowa, keep in touch when you have time. I treat you like my own sister, just like your brother does."

Cheng Ze tried to catch up.

"Aze, my mom says she wants to see you," Qian Ying said with a resentful look.

Cheng Ze had no choice but to stay, his face tense, his voice slightly hoarse as he asked, "What does Auntie want with me?"

Qian Ying's face flushed slightly, and she shook her head: "I don't know either. She wants to see you."

When the two of them returned to Cheng Ze's villa, a middle-aged woman in a wheelchair greeted them in the corridor.

"Aunt Xing, are you feeling better?" Cheng Ze asked as he stepped forward.

Wang Xingling smiled gently: "The same as always. Quick, I asked Amei to make your favorite braised pork ribs."

“My mom is so biased. She’s been saying she wants to see you for days,” Qian Ying pouted.

Cheng Ze smiled faintly.

There were three dishes and a soup on the table, all of which were Cheng Ze's favorite dishes.

"Aunt Xing, I've made an appointment with Professor He. He'll come to pick you up tomorrow for your medical appointment," Cheng Ze said politely after sitting down.

Wang Xingling waved her hand and said, "It's kind of you to think about this all the time. My leg is already useless, so I don't have any hope anymore."

"Mom, Aze said Professor He is the most authoritative TCM doctor in the country. Why don't you give him a try?" Qian Ying hugged Wang Xingling from behind and said coquettishly.

Wang Xingling tightened her grip on her hand: "Mom is getting old. As long as you are happy, even if I die, I will be at peace."

"Mom, I won't allow you to say such unlucky things!" Qian Ying scolded playfully.

Cheng Ze frowned slightly and said softly, "Aunt Xing, there's plenty of time in the future. Just enjoy life."

"Look at my memory, I always say such unpleasant things." Wang Xingling smiled, invited them to sit down and eat, and didn't forget to put some food on his plate.

Cheng Ze also served her and Qian Ying ribs respectively.

Qian Ying's eyes were smiling, and the corners of her mouth were almost turned up to the sky.

Wang Xingling sighed inwardly and said to Cheng Ze, "Aze, I heard you get along quite well with the second daughter of the Fang family. What is your relationship?"

Cheng Ze's hand gripping the chopsticks tightened slightly, his knuckles turned white, and his eyes dimmed considerably.

“Mom, Qiaowa is Aze’s sister, a very hardworking child.” Before he could respond, Qian Ying blurted out.

Wang Xingling's eyes narrowed, signaling her to shut up.

Cheng Ze felt a mix of emotions, his heart pounding with anxiety.

Thinking of what Lu Siqiao had said, a surge of anger rose from the bottom of his heart.

"Yes, she is my sister." He lowered his eyes, concealing the sadness within them.

Wang Xingling breathed a sigh of relief.

She placed a piece of pork rib on his plate, a smile playing on her lips: "Oh, bring her to meet us sometime. It's rare that Aying likes her too."

“Okay, Aunt Xing,” Cheng Ze said stiffly.

Seeing that they had finished talking, Qian Ying frantically tried to signal to her mother with her eyes.

Wang Xingling, however, ignored it.

After the meal, she asked Qian Ying to wash the fruit.

"Aze, my daughter and I caused you trouble after we returned to China." She poured tea for Aze and chuckled, "Ah, people's words can be a fearsome thing. Aying said she went to visit your parents, but they didn't like her. That child is thoughtful and came back sullen."

Cheng Ze said calmly, "My relationship with the Cheng family has come to a standstill since my mother passed away. I don't need to pay attention to their attitude. Besides, in my eyes, Aying is like my own sister, and I will take good care of her."

There was a loud clang.

Qian Ying came out of the kitchen carrying fruit, and upon hearing these words, she froze on the spot.

The fruit was also spilled on the ground.

Her eyes reddened, and she quickly squatted down to pick up the broken plates.

Cheng Ze called out to her, "Aying, don't move, I'll help you." He rolled up his sleeves and came over to support her.

Qian Ying was angry and insisted on picking it up herself.

Unexpectedly, with a pull, her finger was cut, and blood gushed out.

"Don't move!" Cheng Ze hurriedly found a hemostatic bed, pressed cotton against the wound, and then put a band-aid on it.
