Chapter 163: Zhang Ze's Engagement

"Quick, get her to the hospital!" Lu Siqiao shouted as she held Mo Yan, who was bleeding from her head and unconscious.

Cheng Ze picked up Mo Yan and said coldly, "Qiao Wa, let's go!"

The two hurriedly got into the car, leaving Mo Yan's agent, Sister Xiao, to handle the aftermath with the film crew.

Cheng Ze sped along, glancing at Lu Siqiao's condition through the rearview mirror every now and then.

She held Mo Yan in her arms, her eyes numb, her sorrowful appearance breaking his heart.

"Qiaowa, Mo Yan will be alright, trust me!" His urgent words pulled her back to reality.

Lu Siqiao jolted awake.

She took out a life-saving potion from her spatial storage and poured it into Mo Yan's mouth.

A few minutes later, Mo Yan woke up and found herself lying in Lu Siqiao's arms. She smiled bitterly and said, "Qiaowa, I had a dream that I would never see you again."

Lu Siqiao gently stroked her face and cried, "Yan'er, I'm so sorry."

"It's Fang Dingding. She deliberately harmed the people around me to force me to give her my kidney. First it was Lu Mingyuan's family, then Cheng Ze, and now it's you..." Lu Siqiao cried, "What should I do?"

"Should I give her my kidney?" she murmured to herself.

Just as she was falling into self-doubt, Mo Yan gripped her hand tightly and said through gritted teeth, "No, you can't give it to her."

“We can’t let her get away with this. She took one of your kidneys this time, and next time, she can steal the other one.” Mo Yan’s face was covered in blood, but her eyes shone brightly. “A wolf can never be satisfied.”

"But she will harm the people around me," Lu Siqiao cried, large tears streaming down her face.

"Yan'er, I would rather it be me falling from the building, not you!" she cried.

Mo Yan moved her limbs and found that she was still in pain. She breathed a sigh of relief: "Don't worry, I won't die."

"Jova, do you remember? You saved my life. If it weren't for you, I would have died long ago. You are my lucky star."

“Don’t abandon your principles for me. If she treated you well, I would give her my kidney without hesitation, even if it were mine. But she doesn’t deserve it.”

Mo Yan endured the pain and comforted her again and again.

Lu Siqiao nodded while crying.

When she looked up again, her eyes held a newfound resolve.

“I have an idea,” she said coldly.

Cheng Ze slammed on the brakes and turned around. He saw that her face was also stained with blood, and her gaze was cold and fierce, like a demon in the night, alluring and unapproachable.

Two hours later, Mo Yan's agent, Sister Xiao, arrived at the People's Hospital. She saw Lu Siqiao sitting outside the hospital bed, looking as if her soul had been taken away.

Mo Yan lay on the bed wrapped up like a rice dumpling, her fate unknown.

"Qiaowa, how is Yan'er?" Sister Xiao walked up to Lu Siqiao, her voice trembling as if she had a premonition.

Lu Siqiao covered her face and cried, "The doctor said that Yan'er's leg is broken and she will never be able to stand up again."

Sister Xiao felt a wave of dizziness, but luckily Lu Siqiao caught her in time so she didn't fall.

"How could this happen?" She knelt on the ground, filled with remorse. "It's all my fault. She didn't want to take this role. I forced her to. I've ruined her life!"

Lu Siqiao hugged her: "Sister Xiao, you were doing it for her own good, it's not your fault."

“I told the doctors to try to be gentle with their words, otherwise, given Yan’er’s temper, she definitely won’t be able to focus on her treatment,” Lu Siqiao continued.

Unexpectedly, a group of reporters rushed into the corridor, turned on their cameras, and began interviewing, asking questions such as whether Mo Yan's fall from the platform was intentional or accidental, and what her current condition was.

Mo Cong rushed over from afar and, with his wife, chased the reporters away.

"Qiaowa, don't worry, I've already contacted experts abroad, and they'll be here in a few days. If all else fails, I'll take Yan'er abroad for treatment." He walked up to Lu Siqiao, trying his best to appear calm.

Seeing Lu Siqiao covered in blood and looking haggard, Jiang Lizhen went up to her and hugged her, comforting her, "Yan'er is lucky to have a friend like you. I thank you on her behalf."

Lu Siqiao couldn't help but shed tears again.

As she walked out of the hospital, she saw a person looking rather timid.

She pretended not to see it and got into the car.

"Miss, Mo Yan broke her leg. The doctor said there's no chance she'll be able to stand up again. Mo Cong has already contacted experts abroad." The person was Fang Yao, Fang Dingding's henchman and Lu Siqiao's high school classmate.

Five years have passed, and the Fang family's business has declined and was eventually swallowed up by Fang Dingding. Fang Yao has no way to make a living and can only work as a servant for Fang Dingding, living a life worse than a dog.

However, Fang Dingding was very generous. After scolding and beating her, she would give her a sum of money, like sending a beggar away.

Fang Yao hated Lu Siqiao to the core.

In fact, Lu Siqiao hadn't done anything to her, but the disparity between them made Fang Yao unable to bear seeing her doing well.

Fang Dingding was receiving treatment, and the pain she was in was so intense that Fang Yao couldn't bear to look at her directly.

"I know, and the Lu family's eldest son and his wife too," she cried out in pain.

Fang Yao quickly withdrew.

Chen Luoxia also arrived outside the door.

"My poor Dingding." She leaned against the doorway, her face streaked with tears as she watched Fang Dingding's reactions during each dialysis session.

Fang Yao lowered her eyes, fully aware of the situation.

If you guys hadn't insisted on keeping harping on Lu Siqiao, you probably would have already found a suitable match by now.

Fang Dingding's obsession with Lu Siqiao has reached the point of infatuation.

"Keep a close eye on Dingding, and let me know if anything happens. I still need to take Bohao to his tutoring class." Chen Luoxia left in a hurry after her phone rang.

Chen Luoxia received a call from Qian Ying, who asked if she was free the day after tomorrow, as the two families wanted to meet to finalize the engagement arrangements.

"Honestly, if my Dingding hadn't been sick, you wouldn't have gotten this benefit."

She snorted coldly.

The Qian family.

Wang Xingling finished preparing the meal and kept staring at the clock on the wall. When she saw that it was six o'clock, she began to feel uneasy.

Qian Ying paced back and forth at the door, anxiously asking, "Mom, do you think Aze might not come?"

"You need to be more patient," Wang Xingling comforted, though the worry in her eyes betrayed her true feelings.

Until the sound of a car parking at the entrance was heard.

Qian Ying excitedly stepped forward, opened the door, and exclaimed with great joy, "Aze, you're here!"

Cheng Ze brought some fruit and gifts.

Seeing that his expression was as calm as usual, Wang Xingling felt relieved.

"Aze, you're here now, and you've brought so much stuff." She reached out and took Cheng Ze's slightly cold hand.

Cheng Ze lowered his gaze and said in a deep voice, "Aunt Xing, it's because I'm ashamed to see you. I did that kind of thing, I'm sorry to Uncle Hong."

Qian Ying immediately stepped forward and explained, "Aze, I was also at fault. If I hadn't been drunk too—"

Wang Xingling stopped them, looked Cheng Ze in the eye, and asked gently, "Aze, what do you want to do?"

"Aunt Xing is old and useless. I only have one daughter, Ying..."

"Aunt Xing, I am willing to marry Aying."

Cheng Ze said.
