"You can stay here. If you need anything, just let me know." Cheng Ze arranged for Lu Siqiao's family to stay, and then said that He Zhangzhi was attending an academic seminar and would not be back for the next few days.
Over the next few days, Cheng Ze took them to visit museums and climb the Great Wall.
Looking at the photo of herself and Cheng Ze, Lu Siqiao's eyes shone brightly, like a sky full of stars.
On the morning of the fourth day, Lu Siqiao, wearing a light blue puff-sleeved linen dress and a straw hat, hurriedly ran downstairs to find Cheng Ze.
Cheng Ze said he would take her to the library and specially select some reference books for her.
Hearing a familiar sound coming from down the stairs, Lu Siqiao's face froze.
She actually heard Chen Luoxia's voice, and besides that, there was another soft and sweet voice.
She held onto the solid wood handrail and slowly walked down the stairs.
"Qiaowa, you're awake." Cheng Ze came up to her, took her hand, and asked in surprise, "Why are your hands so cold?"
Lu Siqiao said softly, "They might have caught a chill last night." But her gaze was fixed on the mother and daughter in front of her.
Chen Luoxia wore a light blue cheongsam, her figure was slender and delicate, her hair was curly like that of a noblewoman, and she also had a sparkling hair clip.
She had fair skin, sharp eyes, and thin, slightly drooping lips, exuding an aura that suggested she was not to be trifled with.
Beside her was a girl in a pale yellow plaid skirt, her skin as white as paper, and her long, jet-black hair cascading over her shoulders. The contrast between her black and white skin made her stand out.
Her facial features actually bear a striking resemblance to Lu Siqiao's.
"Come, let me introduce you. This is my stepmother, you can call her Aunt Xia. This is Fang Dingding, my classmate." Cheng Ze introduced Chen Luoxia and her daughter to him.
Lu Siqiao nodded and said calmly, "Hello."
"Aze, Auntie hasn't had your homemade black tea in a long time." After sending Cheng Ze away, Chen Luoxia's gaze was fixed on Lu Siqiao. Thinking back to the photos Chen Luoshi had taken, she had to admit that Lu Siqiao looked much better in person than in real life.
Like a delicate porcelain doll, her skin is a healthy wheat color, her eyes are bright and piercing, and every move she makes is lively and graceful.
Thinking that she was only eight years old and had already broken free of her control, Chen Luoxia frowned and snorted coldly, "What, didn't you say you looked down on Jingjing City? Why are you here again?"
She comes on strong and starts venting her anger right away; who's going to put up with that?
Lu Siqiao slowly walked downstairs, her voice distant as she said, "Brother Cheng Ze invited me, so I came. Beijing isn't your territory; I don't need to report everything to you, do I?"
"You brat, you have no manners! Is this all your adoptive parents have taught you all these years?" Chen Luoxia spoke in a stern tone, ready to start a fight at the slightest provocation.
Lu Siqiao raised an eyebrow and said calmly, "What can you expect from someone like Huang Ling?"
Chen Luoxia almost choked.
Ignoring Fang Dingding's attempts to stop her, she stepped forward and grabbed Lu Siqiao's hand, her tone menacing: "You brat, if you've got the guts, then die in City A and don't ever come back!"
Lu Siqiao suddenly threw her to the ground.
"It's none of your business," she sneered.
Chen Luoxia wore high heels and was used to a life of luxury. Even though Lu Siqiao was a child, she worked all day and drank spiritual spring water from her space, so her physical strength was better than that of an average child.
Seeing her health and vitality, Fang Dingding's eyes gleamed strangely, and it was unclear what she was thinking.
“Mom, Qiaowa is still a child. We should talk to her nicely.” She stepped forward and pulled Chen Luoxia aside, then turned to Lu Siqiao and said gently, “Qiaowa, Mom loves her so much that she hates her so much. Please forgive her.”
Lu Siqiao sneered: "Miss Dingding, don't get it wrong, she's not my mother."
Fang Dingding didn't expect that this young girl would be so stubborn. She smiled and said, "Say whatever you want. Since you've come all the way to the capital, why don't I show you around?"
"No need, I'm taking Qiaowa to the bookstore later, so I won't trouble you." Cheng Ze came out unnoticed, carrying several cups of black tea.
He even poured milk into one of the cups of black tea and said to Lu Siqiao affectionately, "Try the milk tea I made."
Lu Siqiao no longer targeted the sharpness on Chen Luoxia's face, and became obedient again. She took a sip of milk tea and said in surprise, "It's delicious."
"I specially roasted this black tea. Take some home with you later," Cheng Ze said with a smile.
Their oblivious behavior infuriated Chen Luoxia.
It's hard to believe that Lu Siqiao has already learned how to seduce men at only eight years old.
"Auntie, did you come to see me for something?" Cheng Ze asked Chen Luoxia.
Before Chen Luoxia could speak, Fang Dingding quickly explained, "It's nothing important, I just wanted to borrow some high school materials from you. I heard from Qiaowa that you're going to the bookstore, so why don't I go with you?"
Lu Siqiao's face tightened.
His displeasure was written all over his face.
Upon seeing this, Cheng Ze patted her head and apologized to Ding Ding, "Ding Ding, just let me know what materials you need, and I'll buy them and have them delivered to your home. Besides going to the bookstore, we're also going to visit other places, and the journey will be too tiring. I'm worried you'll overwork yourself."
Fang Dingding kept a straight face and said calmly, "Okay, let's make another appointment next time."
Her fingernails dug into her skin, yet she still maintained a composed and elegant demeanor.
Chen Luoxia disapproved of Lu Siqiao's behavior of monopolizing Cheng Ze, glared at her fiercely, and said to Cheng Ze, "Aze, you haven't been home for dinner in a long time. Your dad and grandma miss you. Why don't you come home for dinner tomorrow?"
Cheng Ze lowered his eyes and said calmly, "The Cheng family won't miss me if I'm there or not. Going back will only lead to arguments. For their health, I'd better not go and risk getting into trouble."
Chen Luoxia's eyes flashed with a fierce light: "Aze, no matter what your family says, you are still your father's son, and that relationship cannot be erased."
She wanted to argue with Lu Siqiao, but Fang Dingding held her down firmly.
"Aze, I'll come find you again later."
"Jova, if you need anything, just come to me."
Before leaving, Fang Dingding acted like a caring older sister.
Cheng Ze and Lu Siqiao did not answer, and watched them leave.
Turning around and seeing the two people behind her, who looked like a perfect couple, Fang Dingding felt a tightness in her chest.
I haven't felt this way in a long time since I was reborn.
She never imagined that her own sister would try to steal her sweetheart.
"Mom, Qiaowa is so beautiful." She closed her eyes and sighed deeply.
It's so good to be healthy.
In her past life, she couldn't find a suitable kidney donor, which eventually led to kidney failure, and she passed away at the young age of twenty-five.
Having been given a second chance at life, Fang Dingding craves health more than anyone else.
Even if one of her kidneys were removed, Lu Siqiao wouldn't be in any danger, but she refused.
"Dingding, please don't be angry."
Chen Luoxia combed her back, her eyes flashing with cold light, and said, "Now that we're on our turf, even if that brat refuses, Mom will still take her kidney and give it to you."
