Chapter 174 Fang Dingding Has Changed

"Jova isn't dead?"

"She also gave me a heart and kidney transplant?"

Fang Dingding felt as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world.

"Mom, I know you love me, but you don't have to make jokes like that," she said, wiping away her tears.

Chen Luoxia smiled helplessly: "It's true. During the time she was away, she was actually looking for a suitable kidney donor for you."

The news was so shocking that Fang Dingding was stunned, as if struck by lightning.

“The person who donated your organs was named Yichun, a college student.” Chen Luoxia held her hand and comforted her. “She was in a car accident and signed a donation agreement before she died.”

As she spoke, she also cried: "I heard she was a pitiful child. Her whole family scrimped and saved to send her to university. She was only eighteen years old, in the prime of her life."

When Fang Dingding heard the name Yichun, she suddenly recalled the scene from her dream.

For some reason, as if sensing something in her heart, tears welled up in her eyes.

She felt an overwhelming pang of heartache.

"Dingding, what's wrong?" Chen Luoxia noticed that her expression was off and quickly called for a doctor.

After Professor Hong examined Fang Dingding's body, he comforted her, saying, "It's alright, all the data are normal."

"Doctor, I want to ask, since I received a heart transplant, will I be able to sense another person's emotions?" Fang Dingding asked.

Professor Hong laughed and said, "Theoretically, it's impossible."

"However, some people may feel uncomfortable, and they will have to gradually adjust." He smiled and walked away.

Chen Luoxia breathed a sigh of relief, stepped forward, and asked with concern, "Dingding, what's wrong with you?"

"Mom, I want to see Qiao Wa," Fang Dingding said coldly.

Chen Luoxia hurriedly said, "Are you going to—"

"Mom, I won't hurt her again," Fang Dingding said with a bitter smile. "She saved my life. I just have some questions I want to ask her."

Seeing this, Chen Luoxia called Lu Siqiao.

Half an hour later, Lu Siqiao stood in front of Fang Dingding.

"I heard you wanted to see me?" She sat on the edge of the bed and teased, "I heard that your body can't withstand a second surgery, so stop thinking about my kidney."

Fang Dingding leaned comfortably against the soft pillows, her mind completely blank.

After a long silence, she finally said softly, "Jova, thank you."

"Oh, you've changed your mind?" Lu Siqiao curled her lips, unconvinced.

“During my sleep, I had a very long dream,” Fang Dingding continued, “I dreamt that I murdered Cheng Bohao, my mother was kicked out of the house by Cheng Duoguo, and I was sentenced to death…”

"With your abilities, you could easily shift all the blame onto Chen Luoxia," Lu Siqiao sneered.

Fang Dingding gave a poignant smile: "Yes, but at that moment, I didn't want to live anymore."

"Having been given a second chance at life, I've worked so hard to survive that I no longer recognize myself."

"Those who loved me, and those I loved, are all gone," she said self-deprecatingly. "When you truly have everything, life is sometimes very important, and sometimes insignificant."

Lu Siqiao opened her lips.

It's a ghost story.

"Professor Hong didn't say that a heart transplant would change a person's personality as well," she murmured to herself.

For a moment, it was impossible to tell whether she was telling the truth or not.

"Jova, I apologize for everything I've done in the past. I'm sorry."

"I was wrong."

Fang Dingding clasped her hands together and lowered her eyes: "Can I make up for the past?"

Lu Siqiao stood up, somewhat uncomfortable, and said, "Hey, Fang Dingding, what are you up to now? Let me tell you, I'm not going to put up with you."

"Don't worry, I will never hurt you again. Even if I die right now, I will have no regrets." Fang Dingding smiled slightly.

Lu Siqiao stared at her warily.

Fang Dingding sighed softly and then asked, "Could you tell me the story of the girl who donated her organs to you? Can I meet her family?"

Lu Siqiao gave a wry smile and took out a stack of photos from her bag.

Fang Dingding saw the girl in the photo, so young and beautiful, smiling so brightly.

The photos all show her working, and every shot is full of energy.

Her smile seemed to have a contagious quality.

Fang Dingding cried again as she watched.

She finally understood why her heart was aching.

It was a deep-seated compassion.

The girl gave him her heart.

She will live on in her place.

"What is her wish?" Fang Dingding turned around and wiped away her tears.

Lu Siqiao said softly, "Take good care of yourself, I will arrange everything."

Fang Dingding shook her head: "No, let me do something for her. Otherwise, I will live with guilt for the rest of my life."

Lu Siqiao looked at her and felt that she was somewhat different.

Perhaps, one's appearance reflects one's inner state.

Fang Dingding's heart has changed.

“She came from a rural area, and her parents scrimped and saved to send her to university. She was the hope of the whole village, but she was in a car accident. What’s worse, the driver who caused the accident fled the scene, and the compensation has been delayed. The girl’s parents are sick, and it feels like the sky has fallen.”

"I heard that she had just broken up with her boyfriend before the car accident. He was a rich second-generation heir who had deceived her feelings. She got into an unlicensed taxi, and the driver didn't have a driver's license..."

Fang Dingding listened quietly, her hands clenched tightly, her knuckles turning white.

"Okay, leave it to me, I'll handle it."

She looked up, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes.

Lu Siqiao looked at her and said, "Don't worry about it. Just live well and do what you want to do. Life is short, and no one knows what will happen next. Just like spring, it can be gone in an instant."

"Instead of wasting time on intrigue and backstabbing, it's better to do something worthwhile."

Lu Siqiao left slowly after she finished speaking.

After she left, Fang Dingding dialed the number of her company assistant.

Time passed day by day.

One day, a middle-aged couple came to the hospital. They were dressed in simple clothes, their hair was gray, and they walked around the hospital hand in hand.

When they learned that they were looking for a girl named Fang Dingding.

The nurse, a snob, glanced at them and said, "Who are you to Miss Fang? She's recuperating right now and shouldn't be disturbed."

"Young lady, we won't disturb her. These are oranges from our own garden, they're very sweet, we'd like to trouble you to give them to her to try." The woman handed over a bag of golden oranges, smiling apologetically.

The nurse said disdainfully, "This is a hospital with strict management regulations. How can we just eat food from outside? What if it contains pesticides or something?"

"Don't worry, young lady, these are grown by our family, absolutely no pesticides," the man said, waving his hand.

At this moment, Fang Yao walked in from outside and her eyes lit up when she heard what the middle-aged woman said.

"Are you from Y province?" she asked.

After receiving the affirmation, Fang Yao scolded the nurse, saying, "You snobbish jerk, I'll deal with you later. This is our boss Fang's benefactor."

"Uncle and Aunt, please come with me!" She politely led the middle-aged woman to the VIP ward.

I saw the girl's figure in the corridor.

Tears streamed down the weathered faces of the middle-aged couple.
