Chapter 113 Ambush from Ten Sides!

Zhang Cheng didn't stop them and let them make a fuss.

The trouble began as soon as the bus left Funing County.

When passing through a village, three groups of people stopped the road and charged a small amount of money, two cents per trip.

Zhang Chengmo calculated that from Funing to Jiaxing, the driver had spent 2.4 yuan just on tolls.

After a bumpy three-hour ride, the bus finally swayed and wobbled into Jiaxing Passenger Transport Center.

The five people walked out of the bus station empty-handed and without any luggage.

The difference between Jiaxing and Funing County is immediately apparent upon exiting the station.

Dirty and messy.

This was Zhang Cheng's first impression of Jiaxing.

"Hey bro, need a place to stay? Our prices are the best!"

Hey buddy, where are you going? Need a rickshaw?

A group of people swarmed around them, chattering away, almost overwhelming them.

Zhang Cheng raised an eyebrow almost imperceptibly, his gaze quickly sweeping over the dozen or so people gathered around him. Several of them were making conversation while subtly sidling up to him.

Zhang Jianhao and his companions felt uneasy all over, unaware that several thieves had already stealthily reached into their pockets.

One hand reached into Zhang Cheng's coat pocket.

A cold smile curled at the corner of his lips. His right hand shot out with lightning speed, giving the man's wrist a light squeeze before releasing it.

The man froze, glanced at Zhang Cheng with a look of surprise and uncertainty, then immediately withdrew his hand and silently squeezed out of the crowd.

Passenger transport centers and train stations have always been places where all sorts of people gather, and pickpockets are as numerous as hairs on a cow.

Zhang Cheng didn't want to cause any more trouble, so a warning was enough.

As the pickpocket left, several unfriendly glances swept over Zhang Cheng from the crowd before disappearing.

"Master, two rickshaws, to Yuanhang Repair Shop."

Zhang Cheng raised his voice.

"Yuanhang Repair Shop? That's not close."

"Hey bro, two bucks, wanna go?"

A coachman leaned over.

Zhang Jianhao and the others widened their eyes in surprise. What the hell? They just open their mouths and ask for two pieces?

"50 cents."

Zhang Cheng remained unfazed.

"become!"

The driver readily agreed.

Zhang Cheng thought to himself that he had probably overpaid.

The five people rode in two rickshaws.

Halfway there, Zhang Zhongming, who was sitting in the car behind, suddenly yelled:

"Where did my tea eggs go? Damn it, I just bought them for three cents..."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Cheng almost lost his composure.

These thieves are truly greedy; they'll take anything, not even an egg.

Zhang Jianhao and his companions couldn't find a single penny in their pockets.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t have money.

The money was carefully hidden in the hidden pockets of his underwear or stuffed under the insoles of his shoes.

"Crunch, crunch—"

The rickshaw's old chain made a screeching sound.

Zhang Cheng wanted to chat with the driver to find out more about the Yuanhang Repair Shop, but the driver just chuckled dryly and kept his mouth shut.

After a short while, the rickshaw stopped outside a repair shop haphazardly built with sheet metal and tarpaulin.

Zhang Cheng paid the fare and led Zhang Jianhao and the other three straight into the repair shop.

"Who are you looking for?"

As soon as he stepped into the courtyard, a young man with a cigarette dangling from his lips and a slovenly air appeared from behind his crooked...

"Security Booth"

He sauntered out, looking impatient.

Zhang Cheng, with a smile, stepped forward and took out from his pocket...

"Huazi"

He pulled one out and handed it over.

The young man's eyes lit up, and with a chuckle, he took the cigarette, holding it between his fingers but not lighting it.

"Oh, I didn't realize you were a boss who smokes cigarettes."

"Dude, we're from Funing County."

"Funing County?"

The young man raised an eyebrow and tucked the cigarette behind his ear.

"What's up?"

“A few days ago, my two batches of clothing were confiscated by your esteemed establishment…”

"Damn it, so it's you bunch of bastards!"

Before Zhang Cheng could finish speaking, the young man abruptly interrupted, yelling at the top of his lungs towards the inner courtyard.

"Brother Dao, Brother Dao! That woman's lover from last time has come knocking on our door!"

"Clang! Clang!"

As the young man shouted, the doors of the front rooms were kicked open one after another, and a group of young men with hats askew and shirts open poured out, cursing and swearing, carrying wrenches, iron bars and other such weapons.

Zhang Jianhao and the others' expressions changed slightly, and they immediately rushed forward to protect Zhang Cheng behind them.

A dozen or so thugs, cursing and swearing, surrounded Zhang Cheng and his group of five. They all looked arrogant and had fierce eyes.

Zhang Cheng's smile remained unchanged as his gaze fell on the burly man with a hideous scar across his face:

"This must be Brother Dao? I've heard so much about you."

Dao Ge squinted, sizing Zhang Cheng up and down, a forced smile on his face:

"You've got some nerve, kid, coming here to seduce people."

"What does Brother Dao mean by that?"

"What's the meaning?"

Brother Dao grinned, revealing two rows of teeth stained yellow from smoking.

"That bitch almost cracked my skull open. Tell me, what do you mean by that?"

Zhang Cheng blinked; Li Yuanyuan hadn't explained this to him in detail.

"Brother Dao, please calm down. I've come here specifically to apologize to you!"

Zhang Cheng, still smiling, took out another cigarette and handed it to Brother Dao.

Brother Dao snorted, not even glancing at the cigarette, his voice as cold as ice:

"You want an apology? Fine! Kneel down and kowtow three times to me first!"
