Chapter 169 Not a Single One Left Alive!

Old Huang grinned, revealing his gap-toothed man: "A few female Japanese devils, what can they do? Back then, tens of thousands of real Japanese devils were driven back to their hometowns by us."

Wang Huanchun's gaze fell on Zhang Cheng's face, and after a moment of contemplation, he asked, "Zhang Ergouzi, do you have something to say to me?"

Zhang Cheng took a breath and lowered his voice: "Your Highness, there are more than 300 people in Jin Village. Now it's impossible to tell who is human and who is a ghost. If this cancer is not completely eradicated, the consequences will be endless."

Wang Huanchun's eyelids twitched, and he squinted at Zhang Cheng: "What do you mean?"

Zhang Cheng remained silent, but his eyes were like poisoned knives.

Old Huang took a puff of his pipe and chuckled, "Good lad, not very old, but his heart is ruthless!"

"Old Huang, what are you guys talking about, all mysterious and strange?" an old man next to him couldn't help but ask.

Wang Huanchun waved his hand to stop the crowd's discussion and turned to Zhang Cheng: "Your plan is to wipe out Jin Village... not a single chicken or dog?"

Several old men gasped in shock.

"Goodness, this kid's name is definitely right, he's got a real 'two-dog' vibe!"

“Kill them all? That’s not a good idea. There might be good people inside. It would be too heinous.”

Wang Huanchun stared at Zhang Cheng and said, word by word, "Zhang Ergouzi, if we really do as you say, our old bones will probably be stabbed in the back by future generations."

Zhang Cheng met his gaze, his tone calm:

"Your Highness, this isn't helping me. What do I care how many Japanese devils are hiding in Jin Village? I only know that if we don't eradicate them today, they'll spring up again tomorrow. They are Japanese devils, but what about their children and grandchildren? Who can guarantee they won't come back for revenge in a few decades?"

Wang Huanchun exhaled a heavy breath:

"You little rascal, you're even more ruthless than I thought!" He had dealt with Zhang Cheng a few times and knew that this young man was quite capable, but he didn't expect him to be this ruthless.

Zhang Cheng remained silent.

Wang Huanchun frowned, and after a long while, he slowly spoke: "More than three hundred lives in Jin Village, with just a dozen or so old guys like us, we are powerless even if we want to."

Zhang Cheng's gaze subtly drifted towards the cave entrance leading to the experimental base in the distance.

An old man surnamed Zhou standing nearby suddenly narrowed his cloudy eyes: "Zhang Ergouzi, you...you want to use the poison gas left behind by the Japanese?"

Zhang Cheng's lips curled into a cold smile: "Why not? They used the lives of our ancestors as guinea pigs. Now, it's time for them to taste the bitter fruit of their own making."

"Hahaha!" Old Huang suddenly burst into laughter, slapping Zhang Cheng on the shoulder. "That's good! Kid, I'm starting to like you! Tell me, what's the plan?"

A cold glint flashed in Zhang Cheng's eyes: "There's no complicated plan. Just get everyone into the experimental base, and then, I'll trouble you all to smash all the bottles and jars inside."

Wang Huanchun didn't even lift his eyelids: "Then, can we still get out?"

"We can't get out."

"If I can't get out, I can't get out!" an old man waved his hand nonchalantly. "Anyway, the yellow earth is up to my neck. I'll die sooner or later, it's all the same. Hey, if I go now, I can catch up with Old Zhao on the road to the underworld, I won't be alone!"

Wang Huanchun nodded slowly, his voice slightly hoarse: "Zhang Ergouzi, we agree to this. You make the arrangements."

...

Golden Village.

With the assistance of villagers from Huangdian Village, more than 50 police officers have brought all the villagers of Jin Village under centralized control.

Nearly three hundred people gathered in the open space at the village entrance, their faces filled with fear and unease.

Someone muttered curses, wishing those hidden Japanese soldiers would be childless and extinct.

Some people cried out in defense, claiming that they were definitely not Japanese.

Looking at the chaotic crowd before him, Director Yu felt utterly overwhelmed. He clapped his hands and raised his voice, "Folks, you all know what happened in Jin Village. I won't say anything more. Please trust the government, and trust that we will get to the bottom of this!"

"Officer, of course we trust the government! But I'm really not a Japanese soldier!"

"You're not? Your wife was just chasing me around with scissors and stabbing me!"

"Bullshit! Just because my wife is a Japanese soldier doesn't mean I'm a Japanese soldier too! I'm a victim too!"

"Who knows if you're acting!"

The crowd was on the verge of spiraling out of control again.

Just then, Zhang Cheng ran in from outside the village and headed straight for Director Yu and Zhao Daming.

Seeing that he was covered in dust, Zhao Daming quickly pulled him over: "Brother, are you alright?"

Zhang Cheng waved his hand and turned his gaze to Director Yu: "Director Yu, there's something I need to report to you."

Director Yu rubbed his aching temples, a congealed bloodstain on his cheek adding to his weariness: "What is it? Speak."

"Wang Huanchun, an old hero from Wangcun, came up with a way to identify the Japanese soldiers."

"Oh?" Director Yu's spirits lifted. He had been racking his brains over this matter and was overjoyed to hear this. "Quickly, tell me, what's the solution?"

“His Highness didn’t go into details,” Zhang Cheng said calmly. “He only told me to tell you that if you want to identify the Japanese, you have to bring everyone from Jin Village to the experimental base. Once they’re there, he’ll naturally have a way to make the Japanese reveal themselves.”

Director Yu frowned slightly. An experimental base? Wang Huanchun and the others had never been inside either. How could they have gotten there?

Zhao Daming, who was standing to the side, seemed to be deep in thought. Suddenly, his expression changed slightly, as if he had thought of something.

Zhang Cheng added, "For the sake of the situation, there is no time to lose."

After a moment's hesitation, Director Yu finally waved his hand and said, "Alright! I'll arrange it right away!"

As Director Yu walked away to make arrangements, Zhao Daming grabbed Zhang Cheng's shoulder, lowered his voice, and said gravely, "Brother Zhang, tell me honestly, Wang Huanchun and his men... are they planning to..."

Zhang Cheng grinned and interrupted him: "Brother Zhao, don't make wild guesses. The prince and the others are all seasoned veterans who have weathered many storms, and they know how to act with discretion."
