Chapter 177 Blood for Blood

The young man who had just spoken up against Zhang Cheng gritted his teeth.

"Brother Dog, I was rude just now, I'll slap myself!"

"Clap clap clap!"

Three hard slaps landed on his lips, so forceful that blood trickled from the corners of his mouth.

"Brother Dog, you really are Brother Ming's good older brother."

Zhang Cheng ignored the young man and took out the pistol he had found in the female Japanese soldier's house in Jin Village.

He stuffed it into Zhang Zhongming's hand.

"This gun is special; it was captured from the Japanese."

"If you encounter a problem you can't solve, take out this gun."

"Say that it was captured by your ancestors when they fought the Japanese. Maybe a righteous person will come to your aid."

"Also, the journey won't be very peaceful."

"If the snakehead is unethical, kill him first!"

Zhang Cheng's eyes flashed with a fierce light.

These days, there isn't a single decent person who dares to make a living outside.

"Um!"

Zhang Zhongming nodded emphatically.

"Time is of the essence, so I won't waste any more words. Take care of yourself!"

Zhang Cheng raised his hand and patted Zhang Zhongming's shoulder hard.

"I hope that in a few years, you will be able to host me at Victoria Harbour on Hong Kong Island!"

"Brother, don't worry, I can definitely do it!"

Let's go!

Zhang Cheng glanced at the rearview mirror and saw a dilapidated truck swaying and wobbling towards them in the distance.

Everyone got off the bus at the same time.

Zhang Cheng sat in the car, took out a cigarette, and lit it.

"Brother, I promise I won't let you down again!"

Zhang Zhongming kowtowed three times, his forehead pressed against the cold mud. When he got up, he had already crawled into the back of the dilapidated truck.

Zhang Cheng took a deep drag on his cigarette, the butt glowing intermittently in the night.

From Funing to Shenzhen, and then smuggling himself to Hong Kong Island, this is not something that can be done with a small amount of money.

Jiang Yuhong made it clear on the phone that he used his connections with the Shanghai "Fire Phoenix" agency and spent 210,000 yuan.

This amount could buy seven or eight buildings in Funing County.

Zhang Cheng watched the truck disappear at the end of the road, stubbed out his cigarette, and stepped on the gas.

Back at their rented room in the county town, Zhang Jianhao and the others immediately surrounded them.

"Brother, Zhongming, he..."

Zhang Cheng glanced at them, his voice devoid of any warmth.

"From this day forward, none of us have seen Zhang Zhongming since Jiaxing. This sentence is etched into our minds."

Everyone felt a chill and nodded in unison.

"Go to the video arcade and keep an eye on your own stalls."

After seeing everyone off, Zhang Cheng lay on the bed with his hands behind his head.

He had just given Zhang Zhongming 50,000 yuan, and then spent another 210,000 yuan on smuggling, leaving him with only 600,000 yuan.

This money can do a lot of things.

"Bang!"

The door was flung open with tremendous force, sending splinters of wood flying.

Zhang Cheng leaped off the bed almost instantly, landing on his feet with his body taut like a bow.

Zhang Weiguo stumbled in, breathless. "Brother! Someone's causing trouble! Sword Master... Sword Master's been injured!"

Zhang Cheng's eyes suddenly turned cold.

Without saying a word, he grabbed his coat and strode out.

A large crowd had gathered outside the video arcade on South Street.

Zhang Weiguo led the way, forcefully pushing through the crowd.

"Get out of the way! All of you, get the fuck out of the way!"

In the center of the crowd, Zhang Jianhao was being supported by someone. His face was ashen, his chest heaving violently, and each breath he took was accompanied by a terrifying gasp.

"Dog Bro is here!"

Zhang Cheng pushed through the last of the crowd, strode forward, and ripped open Zhang Jianhao's clothes.

On his left chest, there was a clear, deep fist-shaped mark, and the surrounding skin had an eerie bluish-black hue.

"Take him to the hospital!" Zhang Cheng's voice was as cold as ice.

"Tell the doctor that it's a closed internal chest injury with severe bruising, and have them prepare to bleed it!"

His words were quick and urgent, delivered in an authoritative tone that left no room for argument.

Li Weibing and the others didn't dare to delay and hurriedly carried Zhang Jianhao on their backs and rushed out.

Zhang Cheng slowly straightened up, turned around, and fixed his gaze on the steps at the entrance of the video arcade.

A burly man stood there, no more than 1.7 meters tall, but his arms were so muscular that they almost burst through his short-sleeved shirt.

He had a buzz cut, deep forehead wrinkles that looked like they were carved by a knife, and a pair of small eyes that gleamed with a sharp light.

He's a trained fighter. And a trained fighter whose hands are stained with blood.

Zhang Cheng walked over step by step and stopped less than half a meter away from the other person.

"What have my men done to offend you?"

The burly man looked down at Zhang Cheng, his voice deep and resonant. "You're from Zhang Zhongming's hometown. Where is he?"

As expected, he was seeking revenge.

"The police are here! Make way!"

A commotion broke out outside the crowd as Zhao Daming, accompanied by three police officers, squeezed through.

He immediately spotted the burly man confronting Zhang Cheng, and his brow twitched; something was off about the man's aura.

"Hey bro, what's going on?"

Zhang Cheng turned his head to the side and said, "Brother Zhao, this man broke into my shop and injured people without cause. You have to give me justice."

Zhao Daming understood his meaning; this was about official business.

He stepped forward and identified himself to the burly man. "Come with us to the police station."

The burly man's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Things of the underworld should be settled within the underworld. You government employees are overstepping your bounds."

"This is a society governed by the rule of law." Zhao Daming's face darkened, and he ordered his subordinates, "Take him away!"

Two police officers immediately stepped forward, one on each side, to grab the burly man's arms.

"Get out of my way!"

The burly man roared, his body jolted violently, and he exerted force with both shoulders.

"Bang! Bang!"

The two police officers seemed to have been hit by a bull; they grunted and staggered back several steps.
