Chapter 182 I'm Giving You a Chance to Overturn the Table

In April, the wind still carried a hint of coolness.

At the entrance to the national highway in Jiaxing, eight cars were parked quietly on the side of the road, like subjects waiting for the king's inspection.

A group of middle-aged business owners in suits, however, were completely devoid of their usual airs. They gathered in front of the car, anxiously smoking in silence, the air thick with tension and anticipation.

"They're here!"

Someone shouted, and everyone looked up sharply, their eyes all turning towards the end of the national highway.

A colossal, jet-black steel beast is tearing through the horizon, hurtling towards us with the force of a thunderbolt.

That domineering and rugged body shape belongs to Cadillac!

Zhang Tian's pupils suddenly contracted as he stared intently at the Shanghai A license plate.

Could it be that Jiang Yuhong from Shanghai came in person?

"My God...it's a Cadillac!"

"This car must have cost over a million yuan, right?"

"More than that! This one vehicle is worth half of my factory!"

Amid the murmurs, the Cadillac smoothly slowed down, like a whale entering a harbor, and silently glided to a stop beside the convoy.

The entire room fell silent.

Zhang Tian stubbed out his cigarette and almost jogged to meet them. The other bosses quickly followed, their faces full of humble smiles.

The car window, however, remained closed.

The dark glass separated the inside from the outside, allowing only a vague outline of a young man to be seen, sitting quietly and motionless in the driver's seat.

An invisible pressure emanated from inside the car.

Zhang Tian stood outside the car door, barely daring to breathe. He could feel the person inside scrutinizing him, scrutinizing everyone.

He broke out in a cold sweat, but finally steeled himself and bowed respectfully.

"Master Zhang!"

The car window slowly rolled down, revealing a young face wearing gold-rimmed glasses.

Zhang Cheng's gaze was calm as water, sweeping over Zhang Tian and then over the group of silent bosses behind him.

He didn't get out of the car, or even move his body. He simply spoke in a low voice, but with an unquestionable tone of command.

"Mayor Yue Gao."

Mayor Gao is Gao Datong's father.

Zhang Tian's smile froze instantly, turning into a wry smile: "Mr. Zhang, Mayor Gao is extremely busy, I... I'm afraid I can't get an appointment with him."

He wanted to say, "You think too highly of me. He's the mayor of Jiaxing!"

Zhang Cheng's expression remained unchanged, as if he had expected this answer.

"Then let's make an appointment with Gao Datong first."

"I have something to discuss with him."

"No problem! No problem at all!" Zhang Tian nodded repeatedly, feeling as if he had been granted a pardon.

Zhang Cheng said no more, raised his hand, and the car window rolled up smoothly, shutting out the world once again.

The engine let out a deep roar.

Startled, Zhang Tian turned around and ran towards his Santana, afraid of being too slow.

"What are you standing there for? Get in the car! Follow me!" he growled at the group of bosses behind him who were still in a daze.

The crowd then seemed to snap out of their daze, exchanging bewildered glances, their eyes filled with shock.

This boss from Funing... he's got quite the airs!

But that car, that air of authority, made this enormous arrogance seem perfectly natural!

Zhang Tian's Santana wisely drove in front of the Cadillac to lead the way, and the convoy of nine cars drove into Jiaxing city in a grand procession, attracting the attention of passersby.

Half an hour later, at the Guoyun Hotel.

As soon as the convoy came to a stop, Zhang Tian was the first to rush out of the car, ran to the Cadillac, and respectfully opened the car door.

"Mr. Zhang, please have a simple meal first. I've already made the arrangements."

"Um."

Zhang Cheng then leisurely pulled out the car keys, grasped the ebony cane with its gold-plated tip, and got out of the car.

"Mr. Zhang, I've heard so much about you! My name is Huang Pinyu!"

"Hello Mr. Zhang, I am Li Sansi!"

The bosses swarmed forward, each vying to reach out their hands.

With a faint smile on his face, Zhang Cheng shook hands with each of them one by one, his demeanor composed: "You're too kind, everyone. Please go inside and talk. Don't block the restaurant's business."

"Yes, yes, Mr. Zhang is right!"

"Let's go, let's go! We have to have a good drink with Boss Zhang today!"

The group entered the restaurant with a large entourage.

Zhang Tian had already booked the most luxurious private room, and at this moment he was running to the front desk to borrow the phone to urgently contact Gao Datong.

Upon hearing that Zhang Cheng had personally come to Jiaxing, Gao Datong on the other end of the phone did not hesitate at all and immediately agreed to come over right away.

The atmosphere inside the private room was lively.

"Mr. Zhang, it's an honor for us out-of-towners to meet you! This is a toast to you!" Li Sansi raised his glass and drank it all in one gulp.

"You're all too kind," Zhang Cheng said with a smile, finishing his drink as well.

Drinking culture is the best catalyst for building closer relationships.

After several rounds of drinks and several dishes, Gao Datong arrived.

He was still tall and thin, but as soon as he entered, he was taken aback by the atmosphere in the private room and Zhang Cheng's new look.

"Director Gao, what a rare guest!"

"Director Gao, please take a seat!"

The arrival of Gao Datong instantly pushed the already high-spirited atmosphere to its peak.

He greeted everyone with a smile, then sat down next to Zhang Cheng and lowered his voice, "Brother Zhang, I almost didn't recognize you in that outfit. You're so handsome!"

Zhang Cheng laughed loudly: "If you can't be a person, you can only rely on your clothes."

After exchanging pleasantries, Gao Datong's expression turned serious, and his voice lowered: "Brother Zhang, I'm sorry for what happened with Zhongming."

Zhang Cheng shook his head, his gaze calm: "Brother Gao, you're exaggerating. He chose this path himself, so he can't blame anyone else."

“You’ve stopped calling me ‘Brother Gao’, you must be upset,” Gao Datong probed.
