Chapter 268 Zhong Te is fucking insane!

Funing County, Jiefang Road Police Station.

Director Hu Bingyang stood at the door of the interrogation room, staring intently through the small glass window in the door at the figure handcuffed to the interrogation chair inside.

Zhang Cheng.

He felt a throbbing sensation in his temples, and his mind was buzzing with what seemed like hundreds of flies.

"Zhong Te is fucking insane!"

Hu Bingyang roared inwardly.

Zhang Cheng was someone whom Secretary Liu personally instructed to return to the village for "medical parole."

What kind of audacity did Zhong Te have to dare to come to Zhangjia Village's territory and forcibly bring this plague god back?!

Doesn't he know that in Secretary Liu's eyes, his status as the future son-in-law might not be as important as Zhang Cheng, an outsider?

The more Hu Bingyang thought about it, the more exhausted he felt. He felt that working with someone like Zhong Te would shorten his lifespan by at least ten years.

He sighed deeply and pushed open the heavy iron door of the interrogation room.

"You two, go out first."

Hu Bingyang waved to the two police officers guarding him.

Once the door was closed and only the two of them remained in the interrogation room, Hu Bingyang took out his key, stepped forward, and with a "click," unlocked Zhang Cheng's handcuffs.

"I'm telling you, you've lost all your prestige in Zhangjia Village now?"

Hu Bingyang threw the handcuffs on the table and asked irritably.

"Zhong Te led a few men to arrest you, and you actually let him bring you back? You didn't run away?"

Zhang Cheng shook his slightly numb wrist, his face showing no trace of the dishevelment of a prisoner, but rather a playful smile.

"Director Hu, why should I run away?"

"It is my honor to have been asked by Deputy Director Zhong to cooperate with the investigation. Isn't cooperating with the police officers in handling cases the duty of every citizen?"

Hu Bingyang's eye twitched. He stared at Zhang Cheng's grinning face, his teeth itching with hatred.

"Stop trying to talk your way out of this!"

"Your case was submitted by Zhao Daming. Even if we were to investigate, it's not our place at Jiefang Road Police Station! Get out of here and stop getting in the way!"

Zhang Cheng, however, sat calmly and motionless in the interrogation chair.

"That won't do."

He laughed and said, "I was personally invited by Deputy Director Zhong, so if I'm leaving, he should personally see me off."

"Zhang Cheng, don't you dare push your luck! I don't want to make a big deal out of this, but if you keep pushing your luck, I still have plenty of ways to deal with you!"

Zhang Cheng simply shrugged and remained silent.

"Depend on!"

Looking at his stubborn and unyielding demeanor, Hu Bingyang felt a lump in his throat and almost choked.

"You're just a damn leech!"

He cursed angrily, then abruptly turned and walked outside.

"You just wait, I'm going to find Zhong Te!"

However, as soon as he rushed out of the interrogation room, the police officer guarding the door reported with a troubled look: "Chief Hu, Deputy Chief Zhong locked the man up and left. We don't know where he went!"

"That bastard!"

Hu Bingyang's face instantly turned as black as the bottom of a pot.

If the newly appointed Zhao Daming finds out that Zhang Cheng has been detained in the police station by his own people... the first of those three wraths will be directed at Hu Bingyang!

"Go! Find him for me! Dig three feet into the ground if you have to!"

"Yes, Chief Hu!"

...

Meanwhile, at Lanjiang Hotel, room 308.

Zhong Te sat upright, his posture as respectful as a primary school student, looking at the young man who was half-lying on the bed with a languid expression.

Zhong Yaodang.

"Brother Yaodang, the person has been taken to the police station."

Zhong Te cautiously asked, "What do you think we should do next?"

Zhong Yaodang frowned and looked at Zhong Te with an expression as if he were an idiot.

He really wanted to ask the other person, "Is your brain full of water?"

Do you really need to ask me about something like this?

Don't you know that people like us are only responsible for talking, not for thinking?

"Do I have to teach you something this simple?"

Zhong Yaodang pursed his lips, his tone filled with unbearable frustration.

Zhong Te's lips twitched slightly, and he said with a wry smile, "Brother Yaodang, this is a human life after all, I... I dare not make a decision on my own."

"waste."

Zhong Yaodang coldly uttered two words, his eyes filled with contempt as sharp as knives.

"Zhong Te, I really doubt how you became the deputy director. You can't even handle this simple matter, why don't you just die?"

"Cough cough!" Zhong Te choked, his face turning red, and he coughed violently.

Zhong Yaodang impatiently got out of bed, walked to the window, looked at the sparsely populated streets below, and complained, "Everyone says this lousy place is going to develop a lot, but I don't see even a decent entertainment venue. It's incredibly boring!"

"Are all the people here pigs? They just eat and sleep, wake up and eat again, with no spiritual pursuits whatsoever?"

He really wanted to leave immediately.

But when he thought of Li Yuanchao's sour face, he forcibly suppressed the urge to leave.

We can't give up halfway through clearing obstacles for our brothers.

"Brother Yaodang..."

"Shut up!"

Zhong Yaodang suddenly turned around, his eyes filled with such irritation that he looked like he wanted to kill someone.

"Zhong Te, I'm saying this one last time."

"Kill that Zhang Cheng. I don't care what method you use, but I'll take responsibility for any problems that arise."

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an unquestionable tone of command.

"Now, do you understand?"

Zhong Te stood up abruptly and nodded emphatically: "Brother Yaodang, your words are enough! I'm going back to the station now, and you'll definitely hear good news tomorrow morning."

"That's more like human speech."
