Chapter 6 Killing the Alpha Wolf

The wolf pack also showed a moment of unease and hesitation.

The killing of the alpha wolf made them feel threatened.

"What are you standing there for? Do you want to die?!"

Zhang Cheng shouted sternly, while quickly pulling back the bolt to reload a bullet.

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried an undeniable air of authority and murderous intent, instantly waking the terrified villagers.

"Quick! Move closer to Zhang Cheng!"

Zhang Da Nao reacted the fastest, calling out to his people while helping the still-shaken Zhang Guilan to her feet.

Li Junyi gritted his teeth and called to his men, "Let's go! Follow him!"

Now is not the time for infighting; survival is the priority!

After a brief period of confusion, the wolf pack launched another attack, but it was clear that they no longer possessed the same unstoppable momentum as before.

They seemed to be wary of the human who suddenly appeared and whose marksmanship was terrifyingly accurate.

Zhang Cheng did not retreat, but instead opened fire on the wolves that charged at him.

"Bang!"

Another wolf fell to the ground.

His marksmanship, and the calm yet ruthless aura he exuded, instilled fear in these beasts.

As he fired, he directed the men: "The wounded, help each other up! Those who can still move, hold your weapons tight! Don't fucking run around!"

His words were concise and powerful, carrying the tone of a battlefield commander.

The crowd instinctively obeyed his instructions, barely managing to gather together, forming a makeshift defensive circle back to back, and slowly moved towards Zhang Cheng's position.

Zhang Cheng stood like a pillar of strength on the outer edge of the circle, and every time his old hunting rifle fired, a wolf would fall.

He never misses a shot!

Soon, three or four more wolves fell to his gun.

The remaining dozen or so wolves finally couldn't hold on any longer. They let out a low howl of resentment, began to shrink back, and eventually ran with their tails between their legs to the depths of the woods more than two hundred meters away to observe.

The crisis has been temporarily averted.

The valley was filled with the heavy smell of blood, the dead wolf carcasses, and a group of villagers who were still in shock, covered in blood, and panting heavily.
