After Su Dahai and his group left, a woman slowly walked out of the noodle shop's kitchen.
His eyes, as if poisoned, were fixed on their retreating figures.
The woman, in her forties or fifties, still possessed a captivating charm. She wore a yellow floral top, her exaggerated curves stretching the garment taut.
Even passing male dogs couldn't tear themselves away after just one glance.
Qin Hongying spat and cursed inwardly: You, Su Dahai, with such a good job, why don't you think about your daughter?
Now Su Dahai is living off her, but he's still thinking about that old hag Meng Shuyun.
Hmph, no way, such a good job has to be hers.
Thinking of this, Qin Hongying hurried home. As soon as she opened the door, she saw Qin Daya lying lazily on the sofa playing with a ball of yarn.
Her hair was a mess, like a bird's nest, and she looked slovenly, not at all like a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl.
Looking at her like this, Qin Hongying frowned so deeply she could trap a fly, and immediately began to scold her: "Look at yourself! Do you even look human? You don't know how to tidy yourself up. If you go out like this, people will think you're a beggar."
Qin Daya lazily lifted her eyelids, and upon seeing her mother's face, she instinctively showed a look of disgust, thinking: She comes back and immediately starts nagging me.
Hmph, she turned her back and ignored him.
Qin Hongying was furious. She grabbed her shoulder and said with exasperation, "You can't do this. Even if you have a good job, the boss won't look at someone like you."
Upon hearing about work, Qin Daya immediately sat up, her small eyes darting around excitedly. "Uncle Su found me a job? What kind of job? How much does it pay a month?"
"With your looks, which leader would want you?"
I heard it's a railway broadcaster job. That must pay well a month and be easy.
Qin Hongying sat on the sofa and spoke earnestly.
"If you behave well these next few days, your Uncle Su will have the job in his hands. If he doesn't like you either, the job opportunity will be Su Xiulan's."
Upon hearing this, Qin Daya became agitated and stood up abruptly: "No way! This job is mine! Why should it be given to Su Xiulan? What do I lack compared to her, Mother..."
Qin Hongying patted her arm and told her to get up: "You should take good care of yourself and do your best tonight. I'll go buy some snacks to go with the drinks. This job will be a piece of cake."

Before Meng Shuyun even got home, her wife, who was out watering the fields, saw her return and exclaimed, "Sister-in-law Meng is back! Didn't you say you were getting a divorce? I see they've both come home to stay today."
Upon hearing this, Meng Shuyun frowned deeply. What did he mean?
When she saw the gate wide open and collapsed, her bad premonition reached its peak, and when she stepped into the yard, everything was even more chaotic.
The table was covered with unwashed bowls and chopsticks, which had been sitting there for who knows how many days. They were moldy and rotten, and a foul odor emanated from them.
Su Dahai lay on a recliner, a palm-leaf fan covering his face, snoring loudly.
Meng Shuyun felt a wave of dizziness. She had only been away for a few days, and her house had been ruined like this, with people blatantly moving in.
How dare this old geezer show his face here? She was furious.
She grabbed a broom from the corner of the wall, raised it high, and slapped Su Dahai hard across the face.
"Ah..." Su Dahai screamed as he was ambushed. His palm-leaf fan fell to the ground, and his face turned bright red. He looked up and met Meng Shuyun's blood-red, menacing eyes.
"What are you doing! You even hit someone! Don't you have any sense of reason?!"
"Reason is for people, not for shameless old beasts like you!" Meng Shuyun said, slapping him hard.
Su Dahai struggled and resisted, falling directly from the recliner to the ground with a scream that echoed throughout the yard as he was hit several times on the face and back.
He got up, clutching his buttocks, feeling a fracture in his coccyx; every movement was excruciatingly painful.
"Meng Shuyun, I didn't steal or rob anyone when I came to your house, so why are you hitting me?" Su Dahai dodged all over the yard, causing chaos and making a complete mess of things.
Meng Shuyun was so angry she almost laughed. She picked up a carrying pole and pointed it at Su Dahai's nose: "You still know this is my house? You trespassed without my permission, damaged my front door, ate my food, and slept on my recliner. I'm going to sue you for theft and call the police to arrest you all."
Seeing this scene, Su Xiuju's eyes were filled with worry, and she was at a loss, not knowing who to comfort first.
Hearing the commotion, Su Xiangbei and Su Xiangyang ran out of the room and saw their mother chasing their father all over the yard and beating him without any mercy.
The yard erupted in chaos, with chickens and dogs running amok and anyone caught getting a beating.
Su Dahai was panting heavily as he ran, feeling ashamed to be surrounded by villagers. His two brothers didn't even help; they just stood by and watched.
Su Dahai roared, "Xiang Bei, Xiang Yang, hurry up and hold your mother down! Can't you see she's about to beat me to death?!"
Upon hearing the cries for help, the two brothers went to assist, each wondering what would happen if their fierce mother accidentally hurt them.
The two of them originally just went up to make a show of it, but little did they know that Meng Shuyun had already gone berserk.
As soon as the two brothers went up, Meng Shuyun raised her carrying pole high and started hitting whoever came up.
Su Xiangyang: "Mom, what are you doing! I'm Xiangyang! I finally got out of the police station, are you trying to kill me?!"
Su Xiangbei: "Mom, it's wrong to hit someone. That's my father. What will the villagers think of us if we do this? Do we not even have the right to go home now?"
