Chapter 5 Robbing My Parents

Su Dahai got a headache just thinking about money. After all that trouble, he was exhausted and completely dejected.

Looking at his unruly youngest son, he was furious. If he hadn't stolen the money, he wouldn't have had to give up six hundred yuan and a job opportunity for nothing.

He's already feeling the pinch even before he's given it away.

"At such a young age, you're not learning good things, you're stealing money! Where did you spend all that money?!" Su Dahai glared angrily at Su Xiangyang, exasperated.

Su Xiangyang took out two yuan from his pocket. "I've spent it all, this is all I have left."

Su Dahai snatched the money and put it in his pocket, scolding, "You spendthrift! I've never spent that much money at once."

You'd better go to the police station and work in a labor camp to learn your lesson. You have no money; it's all controlled by that old woman. Don't bother me unless it's absolutely necessary.

Su Xiangyang stared blankly at his empty palm, his teeth itching with hatred.

One or two of them were no good, and they even took the last two dollars.

How is he supposed to bring Shanshan breakfast tomorrow?! Let's make things difficult for him, and may everyone else suffer too!

Su Xiangyang stared fiercely at Su Dahai's departing figure, clenching his fists as he made up his mind.

Meng Shuyun had no interest in or knowledge of what was happening outside the courtyard. After tidying herself up, she locked the door and went to bed.

The next morning, Meng Shuyun got up to pack before dawn.

Following the image of the old men and women on TV in my past life, I performed a set of Bajiquan.

Before, when I had difficulty walking, the channel I watched every day was Tai Chi, and I had already memorized it.

Health is the foundation of everything; we can't treat our health like we did in my previous life.

Start exercising now.

After finishing her routine, Meng Shuyun felt refreshed and invigorated, her mind and body felt great.

He clenched his fist, and with one punch, he felt he could break Su Dahai's nose.

Meng Shuyun rode her bicycle to the police station, where Su Dahai was already waiting, looking grim.

"That's my bicycle, I'm going to ride it away in a bit." Su Dahai had a briefcase tucked under his arm and gripped the handlebars with one hand.

Meng Shuyun swerved the front of the car, stepped on the pedals and rushed forward, knocking Su Dahai aside, and frowned as she retorted.

"What do you mean, your bicycle? This is my daughter's dowry. If you want it, pay me five hundred yuan and I'll sell it to you."

Su Dahai hurriedly dodged to the side, his face ashen.

That old hag, all she talks about is money, she's obsessed with money!

He'd been riding that bicycle for so many years, and he'd always walked here in the mornings when there were no other bikes around. His colleagues saw him like that, and he was utterly humiliated.

Meng Shuyun deliberately embarrassed herself, all for a few hundred yuan!

"I've ridden this bike for so many years, how can it not be mine? I bought it with my own money, you didn't pay a single penny. Do you believe I'll call the police right now and accuse you of theft?"

"If you give me the bicycle, I won't let you lose out. It's a second-hand, beat-up bike, I'll give you ten yuan."

Meng Shuyun parked her bicycle and took a step forward, while Su Dahai instinctively took a big step back.

She sneered, snatched the briefcase, and slammed it hard on Su Dahai's head. "What the hell are you thinking? Dream on! You want to buy my bicycle for ten yuan? Go ahead and call the police. It's right here at the door. Go ahead."

"My car, the purchase receipt is right here in my hands. I want to see what proof you have that this car is yours!"

Meng Shuyun didn't indulge Su Dahai either. She took out her household registration book, a letter of introduction, and six bundles of 100 yuan each from her bag.

The largest denomination now is ten yuan. A bundle of one hundred is convenient for calculation and can be put into a pocket.

No matter how grim Su Dahai's expression was, he could go in with his household registration booklet and get it processed. After a few questions and verification of his identity, it was stamped. Transferring household registration was the same; very few people were getting divorced here these days, so the process was incredibly fast—it only took an hour to complete both the transfer and the divorce certificate.

Meng Shuyun looked at her separate household registration booklet, the last few pages of which listed her three daughters.

An indescribable sense of constraint was severed; her fate was different from her previous life. Those two ungrateful wretches would no longer require her control.

I exhale a breath of stale air. This is a new beginning. Without those ungrateful wretches to annoy me, I'm sure I can live to be a hundred.

Su Dahai's expression changed when he saw Meng Shuyun holding the household registration book.

She seemed happy and relieved about something.

She wasn't like this before. She was a devoted wife and mother, managing both the household and the outside world impeccably. Aside from needing some money, she had nothing to worry about.

But why did he feel uneasy seeing Meng Shuyun's relieved appearance?

She's so happy about getting a divorce; if you gave her a string of firecrackers, she'd probably set them off to celebrate.

"Are you satisfied now? There will be a day when you'll be begging me. Without me, Su Dahai, you, Meng Shuyun, are nothing. You're old and faded, who would want you? Only your three married daughters."

Su Dahai sneered and said sarcastically, "You still expect them to support you in your old age? They'll probably be too busy taking care of themselves. In the end, they'll have to beg my son to give you a bite to eat."

If you starve to death, crawl to my feet and beg me, and I might give you a bite to eat.

After mocking and belittling them, I felt a sense of relief and felt a little better.

Without her own support and her son's assistance, Meng Shuyun is just waiting to starve to death!

"Hehe, if your precious son kicks you out and you starve to death on my doorstep, I won't give you a single bite to eat." Meng Shuyun straddled her bicycle, her smile carrying a deeper meaning.

"A good dog doesn't block the way."

With a push of his foot, the wheel hurtled between Su Dahai's legs.
