Chapter 63 The Jiang and Su Families Fight Like Dogs

His gaze was icy, fixed directly on Su Xiangbei's face, which was etched with greed, and a mocking smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

"Whether I have enough to eat, whether my leg will heal, and my pension—what does that have to do with you?"

"You're saying all this just for my compensation? If I didn't have that money, would you be begging me like this?"

Su Xiangnan's words were like a sharp knife, piercing Su Xiangbei's heart. His expression instantly froze and cracked.

"You eat my food, drink my water, and live in my house. Now that I'm asking you for a favor, shouldn't I be doing you a favor?"

Su Xiangbei's face flushed red and then paled, and he almost couldn't maintain his pitiful expression. He suppressed his anger and spoke again.

"I've already made it clear, this money is a loan from me!"

"We're brothers, and you're not even willing to help with such a small thing?"

Just as things were at a stalemate, Su Dahai limped out of the courtyard, spat out a mouthful of blood with a "pui" sound, and landed squarely on Su Xiangbei's face.

"Go to hell, you heartless bastard, you're lending me money?"

That's like throwing a meat bun to a dog—gone and never to return! I'm not even dead yet, and you dare to covet my things!

Su Dahai grew angrier as he spoke, and kicked Su Xiangbei.

He's still in pain all over!

I just got beaten up by those two Jiang brothers, and I still feel so aggrieved thinking about it.

It's all his fault for marrying this woman; she now dares to ride roughshod over him!

No wonder Su Xiangnan didn't tell him right away when he got back. He was up to no good, huh!

If the compensation money ends up in Su Xiangbei's pocket, can we really expect him to give it back?

Su Xiangbei wasn't about to stand there and take the beating. He reacted quickly, dodging the attack and turning his head to glare at Su Dahai with hostility.

"Aren't you just eyeing Xiang Nan's pension?"

If it weren't for your messy affairs, would our family have fallen apart?

How could this have led to this mess?

"This is all because of your indiscretions as a father!"

Upon hearing this, Su Dahai rolled his eyes in anger, his chest heaving violently, and his trembling finger pointed at Su Xiangbei as he burst into a tirade:

"You unfilial son, who gave you the audacity to speak to your father like that?"

I'm going to beat you to death today!

Meng Shuyun was riding her bicycle when she arrived at her doorstep and stumbled upon this spectacular scene.

She actually found the dog-eat-dog drama between the father and son quite entertaining.

It's much more interesting than what's shown on stage; we'd love to see more of it!

She absolutely loved watching it.

"Mother, you're back!"

When Su Xiulan saw Meng Shuyun enter the house, she hurriedly went to greet her, her face full of anxiety and her eyes revealing unease.

"Why did you run out here? You'll catch a cold from this wind, what if you get sick later? You're still in your postpartum period!"

Upon seeing this, Meng Shuyun's heart tightened, and she hurriedly urged Su Xiulan to return to the house, her words full of concern and reproach.

"Father and Xiang Bei and the others..."

Su Xiulan hesitated, her lips trembling slightly, and her worry deepened.

"Let them do whatever they want, it has nothing to do with you. Right now, your most important thing is to get yourself back in good health, understand?"

Meng Shuyun's expression hardened, and she interrupted her without room for argument, gently pushing Su Xiulan away and sending her back into the house.

Meng Shuyun knew perfectly well that this girl was very soft-hearted.

Her younger brothers asked her for money time and time again, and she never once refused them firmly.

Ultimately, it's all my fault for always nagging them to take care of their younger brother. This idea has taken root and affected the children for life.

As soon as Su Xiangbei and Su Dahai stopped fighting, their eyes were red and they stared intently at Meng Shuyun.

The hatred in his eyes seemed to want to devour her alive.

"Meng Shuyun, this mess was all caused by you, and you have to pay for the damages!"

Su Dahai roared at the top of his lungs, veins bulging on his neck, his face full of anger.

Su Xiangbei also realized what was happening and shouted, "Give us the money! You've made Xiaoxue run back to her parents' house!"

His eyes darted around, glancing at Su Dahai and then at Meng Shuyun, his intentions crystal clear.

As long as the money ends up in my own pocket, who cares who pays for it!

What the hell are you thinking?

Meng Shuyun curled her lips into a mocking smile and snorted coldly, "What does it have to do with me that your wife ran back to her parents' home? You're always eyeing my meager possessions, aren't you ashamed?"

Su Dahai: "Isn't it all because of your chicken that Xiaoxue went into premature labor and is now seriously ill? It's all your fault, so it's only right that you pay for it."

Su Xiangbei jumped up and down, saying, "If you had thrown that chicken far away earlier, none of this mess would have happened today!"

The father and son, acting in unison, resembled two fighting cocks, their attacks all directed at Meng Shuyun.

Meng Shuyun laughed in exasperation and rolled her eyes.

He didn't even bother to look at them, and carried the fabric and bicycle into the yard, slamming the gate shut with a "bang," leaving them to make a racket outside.

Anyway, they can say whatever they want, it won't bother me.

The father and son were dumbfounded, staring blankly at the tightly closed door.

That's great, now that the door is closed, who are they going to argue with?

Su Xiangbei got anxious and pounded on the door until his palms turned red, but there was still no response from inside.

Left with no other choice, he turned his attention to Su Dahai.

He leaned closer, feigning a painstakingly earnest expression: "Father, I know you're having a hard time."
