Chapter 36 An Awkward Night (Part Two)

She couldn't take it anymore. She pulled off the covers, sat up, and yelled at Wei Mingshen, "I want to go home!"

He jumped out of bed and headed outside.

Wei Mingshen hugged her with one arm and covered her mouth with the other, coaxing her softly, "What are you doing? How are you going to get home in the middle of the night? You'll freeze to death on the way. Be good, it'll be fine in a bit. I'll cover your ears for you."

Su Xueli was held tightly in his arms and could not move at all. With her mouth covered, she could only make "woo woo" protesting sounds.

Wei Mingshen made a deal with her, "If you promise not to make a scene, I'll take my hand away."

Su Xueli had no choice but to nod.

Wei Mingshen removed his hands, carried her back to bed, covered her with the blanket, and then covered her ears with both hands as he lay down beside her. He smiled mischievously and said, "This kind of noise isn't something you can just hear whenever you want. It's something you can only come across once in a while. How exciting! You're really a wild boar who can't appreciate fine chaff."

Su Xueli cursed "Get out!" and closed her eyes tightly.

But her body betrayed her; the urge to urinate struck, and she felt it was about to burst. She twisted her body in pain, and the person next to her immediately scolded her in a muffled voice, "Don't move!"

She didn't understand why she wasn't allowed to move, and in a fit of pique, she deliberately twisted her body. Suddenly, her body stiffened...

She was sleeping with her back to him, her back against his chest. Just now, when she twisted her body, her buttocks touched his hips... and she felt a prick.

She knew what was bothering her.

So, she really didn't dare to move...

Finally, things quieted down on both sides. Wei Mingshen let go of her ears, and she took the opportunity to jump off the bed and run barefoot into the bathroom.

When she came out of the bathroom, Wei Mingshen was already fast asleep.

She looked at his handsome face and chuckled mischievously to herself: You must have been holding it in too.

The next day, Su Xueli deliberately didn't get out of bed; she didn't want to see them again.

Wei Mingshen got up and went out to say goodbye before coming into the room to call her. "Get up and go out for breakfast. We won't go home. Let's go straight to the city. I've arranged to meet my comrade at the entrance of the First People's Hospital in the city."

Su Xueli quickly got up and said, "We can't use their services for free. Where are we going to buy gifts? Also, let's give a red envelope to your comrade's doctor relative."

Wei Mingshen said, "Don't do this among comrades. My comrade's relative is very upright and won't accept red envelopes."

Su Xueli disagreed, saying, "Even if you don't give a red envelope, you should still buy some high-end nutritional supplements. It's impolite."

Wei Mingshen thought it made sense. "Then let's buy some nutritional supplements. Let's buy them in the county. It'll be too late if we go to the city."

The two of them didn't even bother to eat. They hurriedly found a store and bought two boxes of royal jelly, two tubs of malted milk powder, and some expensive pastries before heading to the station to catch a bus to the city.

Not having time to eat, Wei Mingshen bought a few steamed buns, two tea eggs, and two bottles of soda on the way and carried them onto the bus.

After we settled into our seats, he took out some food and said, "The steamed buns and tea eggs are hot, eat quickly. We can't sit down to drink porridge, so we can only buy two bottles of soda. They're cold, drink them slowly."

Unlike later times, when soy milk and porridge could be packaged in disposable cups and hot milk was sold in boxes and bottles, the only thing you could carry around now was soda.

The soft drink caught Su Xueli's eye; soft drinks in this era were incredibly delicious and a rare treat.

She reached out and took it, but the bottle wasn't open yet. She tried to twist it open, but it was snatched away. "It's cold. Eat some hot buns and eggs first before drinking it. Here you go."

She noticed that the eggs he handed her were already peeled.

A wave of sadness washed over her.

In her past life, she would never forget that when she first married him, she tried to please him by peeling an egg and putting it in his porridge bowl. He coldly picked the egg out with his chopsticks and put it on the table.

She was so upset that tears welled up in her eyes, and she never dared to peel eggs for him again.

So, at that moment, she turned her head away coldly and said, "I'm not eating."
