Rural kitchens typically have two pots: a large one and a small one. The large pot is used for steaming buns and cooking porridge, while the small pot is used for stir-frying and stewing vegetables.
Cao Maizi was cooking in the big pot, so naturally Su Xueli was responsible for cooking in the small pot.
But Su Xueli didn't want to spoil her like she did in her previous life. She didn't even look at her after hearing this, and got up to walk out.
"Don't eat the stir-fried vegetables!" Wei Mingyue shouted angrily at her from behind.
Su Xueli said lightly, "I wouldn't eat even if you offered me a meal!"
Wei Mingyue was so angry she almost smashed the pot.
Su Xueli strode into the room, just as Wei Mingshen sat up from the bed. He asked, "What are you making?"
She said irritably, "Why don't you go and see for yourself?"
Wei Mingshen knew immediately, "Mingyue is acting up again?"
Su Xueli sneered: "Who cares about her?"
Wei Mingshen bent down to put on his shoes and said, "Just ignore her. Good shoes don't need to be wiped with stinky poop."
Su Xueli chuckled.
Wei Mingshen chuckled.
Su Xueli asked him, "She's your sister, you're family, you should side with her, why are you belittling her like that?"
He narrowed his eyes and said, "Nonsense, once a wife marries into the family, she's no longer part of the family. I have to protect the wife I married."
Su Xueli thought to herself: You didn't do this in your past life.
She smiled bitterly, "Whoever is your wife is very lucky."
Wei Mingshen raised an eyebrow. "You're very happy."
Su Xueli shook her head: "It's only temporary."
Wei Mingshen fell silent. He suddenly felt very down and walked out.
After a while, Cao Maizi called the whole family to eat. Su Xueli sat down at the table, picked up her corn and sweet potato porridge and slowly drank it, without even glancing at the plate of stir-fried soybean sprouts.
Cao Maizi laughed it off and said, "Xueli, eat some vegetables, eat some vegetables."
Su Xueli said, "Mom, I told you I ate too much at noon today and I'm not hungry yet. I just want a bowl of porridge."

Wei Mingyue was so angry that her face turned red and her neck bulged. She slammed her chopsticks on the table and said, "You... shameless! If you want to eat this, can't you cook it yourself?!"
Wei Mingshen asked, "Did you sprout these bean sprouts? Did you plant the beans?"
Wei Mingyue exclaimed, "I cooked it!"
"If you cook it, it's for the whole family. Otherwise, you can go over there yourself!"
Wei Mingyue was so angry she was speechless. She tried to argue, but her father snapped at her, "If you dare cause trouble again, get out!"
She immediately backed down, her lips trembled, and tears streamed down her face into her bowl. She wanted to refuse to eat out of spite, but she was afraid that no one would give her a way out and she would go hungry. So she picked up a bowl of porridge, took a vegetable bun, and went out of the kitchen to eat in her own room.
As soon as she left, Wei Mingshen led the laughter, and then everyone at the table laughed.
Su Xueli thought to herself, "He's both incompetent and aggressive."
