Chapter 89 Successfully Bringing Second Aunt to the City (Part 1)

Wei Mingshen's arm stiffened. "I already said I wouldn't see her before divorcing you, and she agreed to that."

"No, that's under normal circumstances. Now she's the one who's been bullied by me, so you should go and comfort her. I approve."

"Stop fooling around, go to sleep." He tightened his arm around her.

Su Xueli closed her eyes in blissful ecstasy.

She was woken up. "Aren't you going to the city with your second aunt? Let's go early."

Su Xueli sat up abruptly, rubbed her eyes, and asked him, "What time is it?"

Wei Mingshen smiled and said, "It's 6:40."

"It's getting late." She hurriedly put on her clothes.

"Do you still need me to stay with you?" he asked, looking at her.

Seeing his sincere expression, Su Xueli asked softly, "Are you really not going to go see Lin Meizhi?"

He shook his head.

Su Xueli was secretly delighted and said, "Then you can be our bodyguard and handbag carrier."

"Welcome to serve."

"Hahaha..." Su Xueli laughed happily.

"You wash up, I'll hitch up the mule cart, and we'll go to town for breakfast." Wei Mingshen went out.

Su Xueli quickly put on her clothes, washed up, got into Wei Mingshen's mule cart, said goodbye to her parents-in-law, and left.

Wei Mingshen laid a thick layer of wheat straw in the mule cart, and then put an old quilt on top of the straw. He sat down and wrapped himself in the quilt to keep warm and block the wind.

My second aunt didn't sleep a wink all night. She was torn about whether to go to the city with her niece-in-law. She was afraid to go out; she didn't want to repeat the path she had taken twenty years ago...

However, she had already promised, and breaking her promise was not her style. She would never break her promise in her life because she knew how shameful it was and how much disaster it would bring to others...

I kept going back and forth between "go" and "not go".

In the end, she chose to escape: she wouldn't go.

When Wei Mingshen and Su Xueli knocked on the door from outside, the second aunt calmly came out and opened the door.

Su Xueli immediately said, "Second Aunt, let's go to town for breakfast. Hurry up and get on the cart. The cart is covered with thick straw and the blankets are thick too. We won't be cold at all when we sit inside."

Wei Mingshen sat on the carriage shaft, cracking his whip, and said, "Second Aunt, today I'm your driver, bodyguard, and bag carrier. Feel free to shop around and buy whatever you want."

Auntie said apologetically, "Thank you, you two good children, but I didn't sleep well last night and can't go."

Su Xueli's smile froze on her face, and Wei Mingshen's whip stopped in mid-air.

"Ming Shen, take your wife out for a good look around. It's almost Chinese New Year, so your aunt is giving you some lucky money in advance." As she spoke, she stuffed two red envelopes into Su Xue Li's bag.

Su Xueli didn't move. She knew that if she couldn't take her second aunt out today, she might never have the chance again.

She took her second aunt's hand, looked into her eyes and said, "Second aunt, you don't understand me. What I fear most is being deceived and abandoned."

Her eyes welled up with tears.

Auntie frowned, grabbed her hand and whispered, "Sherry, my dear girl, don't cry. What happened? Come inside and tell me."

Su Xueli sat face to face with her second aunt in her room and told her about her childhood experience: "My grandmother passed away early, and my grandfather lived with my eldest uncle's family. I was raised by my maternal grandmother, who is my closest relative."
