Yan Yan's face turned as red as an apple. "Xue Li, is this a confession? He said, 'I don't know if you like me, but I like you and I will wait until you get married.'"
Su Xueli exclaimed, "Wow, that's such a sophisticated way to say love! It expresses my love for you without forcing you."
Yan Yan lowered her head and curled the end of her braid, saying, "Xue Li, you know, I've never been cared for or loved by anyone since I was a child. This is the first time I've felt warmth from an outsider, and I'm feeling flustered and don't know what to do."
Su Xueli affectionately hugged her neck and said, "Yanyan, you're just flattered, that's normal. Just enjoy it."
Yan Yan took a deep breath, smiled sweetly, and said, "This must be what it feels like to be loved."
Su Xueli nodded: "Yes, this is what it feels like to be loved. Yan Yan, I'm so glad for you that you got rid of that scumbag and found true love."
Yan Yan, however, was somewhat uncertain: "But... can I really be loved forever? I'm not sure..."
Su Xueli smiled and said, "Yanyan, I've told you before, you're just overwhelmed with gratitude, that's why you're flustered and overthinking. You'll get used to it eventually."
She said, wrapping the scarf around her neck, "Wear this tonight and have sweet dreams."
Yan Yan smiled shyly as she tied the scarf, and then actually wore it to sleep.
The next morning, when Yan Yan got up to go to the market, she woke up Su Xueli as well. After washing up, Su Xueli was about to make herself a simple steamed bun with hot water and leave when Wei Mingshen came in with breakfast.
"Eat quickly, it'll be almost time soon."
Su Xueli smiled and praised him, "You're such a lifesaver!"
Wei Mingshen didn't say anything and went into the room to clean.
Su Xueli quickly ate, and after finishing, she returned to the workshop. Wei Mingshen had already packed the straw-woven products into two large bags.
Do you want me to take you to the station?
Su Xueli said, "No need, Teacher He and I can each carry one bag on our bicycles, it's not heavy."
She glanced at her watch and said, "Teacher He should be here soon."
Just then, there was a knocking sound at the door.
She laughed: "See, the teacher really has a strong sense of time."
Wei Mingshen's brows furrowed instinctively.
"Good morning, Teacher He!" Su Xueli opened the courtyard gate.
"Good morning!" He Yujie responded with a smile.
He looked like he had just washed his hair; it still smelled of shampoo.
He was wearing a beige suit and brown leather shoes, which added a touch of solemnity to his already refined demeanor.
It's very pleasing to the eye.
Su Xueli exclaimed, "So handsome!"
He Yujie said somewhat shyly, "I bought this last year for the principal's father's birthday celebration. I haven't had time to wear it usually, so I'm only wearing it today."
Su Xueli said, "Teacher He's temperament is very suitable for wearing a suit."
"Oh, really?" He Yujie looked down at himself.
"Then I'll trouble you today, Teacher He. I'll treat you to drinks another day." Wei Mingshen carried a large bag of straw crafts out of the house.
"Oh, you're welcome, it's my pleasure." He Yujie hurried over to pick up the things.
Wei Mingshen smiled and looked at him, saying, "How can it be something we should do? We've made money, we can't let you work for nothing, right, Sherry?"
Su Xueli rolled her eyes at him, but could only agree, saying, "That's right."
He Yujie didn't say anything, but picked up the bag of straw products and put it on the back of his bicycle.
He and Su Xueli rode their bicycles out of the alley one after the other.
Unbeknownst to Su Xueli, as she rode her bicycle outside, Wei Mingshen emerged from behind the courtyard gate and watched until their bicycle disappeared.
