"Then, aren't you even a little bit touched by how good I, and my parents, have been to you?"
"I'm touched, but we still have to get a divorce. You have someone else in your heart, and I don't have you in mine. What's the point of not getting a divorce? Are we just going to make do for the rest of our lives?"
Wei Mingshen was stumped by the question.
Still unwilling to accept it, she said, "Even if our divorce is inevitable, we've been together every day, so we should have some feelings for each other, right? You seem to have no feelings for me at all."
Su Xueli said, "I wouldn't dare."
Wei Mingshen paused for a moment, then asked her, "Why don't you dare to have one? Is it because I have Lin Meizhi in my heart?"

You give me the silent treatment, only touching me when you need to satisfy your needs, using me when you need to produce an heir, the rest of the time I'm practically without a husband... I even envy a beggar couple, I envy a pair of ducks in the water..."
As she spoke, she began to have difficulty breathing, felt dizzy, her face turned ashen, and she gasped for air.
"Sherry, what's wrong!" Wei Mingshen quickly hugged her, patting her chest and rubbing her back.
"Sherry, don't get agitated. It's my fault for upsetting you." Once he saw that she had calmed down, he helped her lie down on the bed.
He got out of bed again, poured her a glass of water, blew on it, lifted her head and fed her a couple of sips, then sat down next to her and watched her.
Su Xueli closed her eyes, waved to him, and said, "I'm fine."
Looking at her pale face, Wei Mingshen asked softly, "Xueli, is something on your mind, something very heavy? Can you tell me?"
Su Xueli shook her head: "It's nothing, I just tend to overthink things."
Wei Mingshen pondered what she had just said and asked, "Were all those words just something you imagined?"
Su Xueli covered her face, blaming herself for blurting out her tragic past life in her haste. She had no choice but to lie, "Yes."
Wei Mingshen looked deeply into her face and asked softly, "So you still fell in love with me, otherwise why would you imagine that scene with such deep resentment and anger?"
Su Xueli panicked, feeling a sudden pang of heartache. She groaned and clutched her chest.
"Sherry, what's wrong with you? Let's go to the hospital." Wei Ming was terrified.
Su Xueli shook her head, enduring the pain, and said, "Just let me get some sleep."
"I don't think you're that simple. You should go to the hospital." Wei Mingshen got out of bed and put on his clothes.
"No! I know my own body." Su Xueli stopped him.
Wei Mingshen stared at her inquiringly and asked, "What exactly is wrong with your body?"
Su Xueli had no choice but to lie again, "My chest hurts when I get excited, but I'll be fine after a good night's sleep."
Wei Mingshen asked, "So what illness do you have? Have you been examined?"
Su Xueli pulled the blanket over her head and ignored him.
Wei Mingshen was still worried; he had clearly seen how frightening she looked just now.
He reached out and pulled up her blanket, coaxing her, "Sherry, listen to me, let's go to the hospital for a check-up, otherwise I won't feel at ease."
Su Xueli gripped the blanket tightly and said, "I'm really fine, don't worry about me, let me sleep."
Wei Mingshen insisted, "I'll only feel at ease if we go to the hospital for a check-up. What if something happens to you? Listen to me, get up and I'll take you to the hospital."
