Chapter 167 Wei Mingshen Agrees to Divorce (Part Two)

His words made her feel even worse.

Think about it and say, "Then let's not go to town for dinner. I'll cook them a meal today."

Wei Mingshen lowered his head and said, "I'll finish dyeing this set of little figures."

He then asked, "What we agreed on before still stands, right? We can still do business even after the divorce, and I'll work for you to pay back the money?"

Su Xueli wouldn't let such a good worker go to waste, and said loudly, "Of course."

Wei Mingshen's brows relaxed, and he said, "Go and cook."

Su Xueli went to the kitchen, tied on an apron, and then came over to ask him, "What would you like to eat?"

Wei Mingshen looked up at her and asked, "What kind of cooking are you best at?"

She hadn't cooked a single meal by herself since marrying into this family; she always helped out. That's why Wei Mingshen asked her that.

When he asked her that, Su Xueli was at a loss, because she really didn't have any culinary skills to show for herself.

Seeing her hesitation, Wei Mingshen said, "I want to eat braised noodles, do you know how to make them?"

Su Xueli quickly replied, "Yes, yes, yes."

Wei Mingshen said, "There's still some meat that Mom cured for the New Year at home. Why don't you cut some to make a sauce?"

Su Xueli said, "Okay. Oh, and we also have soybean sprouts. Let's use soybean sprouts as the main dish, and then cut some kelp strips as a side dish."

Wei Mingshen said, "That's fantastic!"

"Okay, I'll go make it." Su Xueli happily ran back to the kitchen.

She first kneaded the dough and let it rest, then she cut the meat to make the sauce. After the sauce was made and left to cool, she rolled out the noodles.

Su Xueli was quite sad. Tomorrow she would be leaving this home forever, leaving behind the man she had loved her whole life.

Yes, leaving is a good thing; she's about to embark on a new life.

She said to herself.

She was slowly rolling out the dough, unaware that Wei Mingshen had quietly entered.

He asked, "Shall we light a fire?"

Su Xueli suddenly sat up straight, quickening her rolling motion, and said, "Go ahead and cook it. It's almost done. You can cook the noodles as soon as the water boils."

Wei Mingshen sat down in front of the stove, grabbed a handful of tinder, lit it, and put it into the stove. He then stuffed bean stalks in, and slowly added in pieces of dried flower and firewood.

Su Xueli added enough water to the pot, put the lid on, and went to roll out the noodles.

Once the dough was rolled out to the right thickness, she began cutting the noodles.

As she prepared to cut, she turned to him and asked, "Should I cut it thinner or wider?"

Wei Mingshen looked at her and said, "Cut it into smaller pieces."

She agreed and began to carefully cut the noodles.

He continued to tend the fire.

Neither of them spoke, but neither of them was truly at peace.

She was cutting noodles, and he was tending the fire under the stove. It looked so beautiful, but this was the last time.

Wei Mingshen was unaware of Su Xueli's thoughts, and Su Xueli was not entirely aware of Wei Mingshen's thoughts either. However, they shared one thing in common: neither of them wanted to leave the other.

Su Xueli forced herself to leave him despite the pain, while Wei Mingshen was forced to leave her heartbroken.

Actually, just now, when he agreed to the divorce, he had a new idea in his mind. Since she minded that he was forced to marry her and that she still had feelings for Lin Meizhi and insisted on a divorce, then so be it.

He could pursue her again, sincerely, until she willingly marries him.

Suddenly, he looked at her back as she bent over cutting noodles and asked, "Sherry, after the divorce you're not going back to your parents' house, you're just living in your rented apartment, right?"
