Chapter 228 You Want to Eat? Learn It Yourself (Part 1)

Xiao Jiu was taken aback by the question, but immediately blurted out, "It's a family heirloom."

Talking nonsense is her forte.

"Heirloom?" Wei Mingshen raised an eyebrow.

"Um...yeah...yeah."

"Your ancestors had this skill, did they run a wonton shop?"

Xiao Jiu didn't know how to make up a story for a moment, but Su Xueli came to her rescue: "Her great-grandfather's generation sold wontons, so everyone in her family knows how to make wontons."

Wei Mingshen said, "It really is a family heirloom. Hey Xiao Jiu, you could sell wontons with this skill, otherwise it's a waste of your talent."

That one compliment made Xiao Jiu incredibly happy.

Xiao Jiu chuckled, "My skills aren't quite there yet, I'll have to learn more. But it's much more fulfilling for Brother Wei to enjoy eating wontons than for me selling them, so I'll make them for Brother Wei from now on."

Su Xueli was right. Wei Mingshen ate three big bowls of food. After he was full, he begged Su Xueli, "Why don't you learn how to wrap wontons from Xiao Jiu? You can wrap them even when Xiao Jiu isn't around."

Su Xueli chuckled to herself, but said aloud, "If you want to eat it, you can learn it yourself. I'm not learning it."

After saying that, he collected the three bowls and went to wash them.

"Hey, Sister Xue Li, I'll wash the dishes! From now on, whenever I eat here, I'll cook and wash the dishes. Girls should be diligent, right?" Xiao Jiu jumped up and snatched the bowl and chopsticks from Su Xue Li's hands.

Could Su Xueli not give her a chance to shine in front of Wei Mingshen? So she put it down and said, "Okay, it's settled then. I'm going to feed the dog."

"I'll take care of the dog." Wei Mingshen took the leftover food meant for feeding the dog.

The two talked as they left the kitchen and went out into the yard.

Su Xueli said, "I ran into Sister Yun at the market just now. She's your cousin Wei Haijun's wife."

Wei Mingshen frowned: "With whom?"

Su Xueli said, "It's just her."

Wei Mingshen muttered to himself, "Just be myself."

Su Xueli looked at him: "What do you mean?"

Wei Mingshen shook his head and said, "It's nothing."

Su Xueli knew him well; he never gossiped, let alone cared about other women. His attitude just now was strange, and she suspected he knew something.

She asked, "Just tell me straight, do you know about Sister Yun's affair with her?"

Wei Mingshen asked suspiciously, "How do you know about this?"

Su Xueli lied and said, "I heard it."

Wei Mingshen stopped hiding it and told Su Xueli what he had heard last night.

He sneered, "She is indeed a pitiful woman, but she is too foolish. If she continues to have an affair with that person, and if Navy finds out, he will either kill her or cripple her."

Su Xueli recalled the scene of being beaten in her previous life, and her heart pounded with fear. She gritted her teeth and cursed, "Wei Haijun is a beast."

"Hmm?" Wei Mingshen looked at her.

Su Xueli quickly explained, "Oh, I heard our mother say that he was very mean to Sister Yun. I even heard Sister Yun crying at night."

Wei Haijun's house and Wei Mingshen's house were not far apart, so his house could hear Sister Yun crying.

Wei Ming believed it wholeheartedly and clicked his tongue, saying, "But we outsiders can't interfere in what a couple does. Hopefully, Navy Bro won't see her and that guy together."

Su Xueli heard that in her previous life, Yun and her childhood sweetheart's secret rendezvous was not just a coincidence that Wei Haijun stumbled upon it; someone else saw it and told Wei Haijun.

That person even considered himself the embodiment of justice, feeling that he had done a tremendous good deed.
